  1. Unfortunately, I don't have any USBs large enough to contain W7 on it. I've elected to exchange the SSD for another in the hopes that that the newest one will allow a direct install from the disk. Although, if that doesn't work, I'll try using the USB suggestion. Thank you very much for the replies.
  2. System Spec: Asus M5A97 R2 LE Mushkin Blackline 1600 (8gigs) Sapphire 7770 AMD Zambezi 4100 Xonar_DG 5.1 Kingwin 650 Semi-modular Sitrep: I just got a new Samsung 840 Evo to replace my WD Caviar Black, and decided to do a clean install of W7 on it. Yet, everytime I did, I kept getting the 0x8007045d error code. I tried doing the following steps Shift + F10 on install start Diskpart List disk Select Disk 0 Clean Convert MBR Exit Exit Also: Shift +F10 List Disk Select Disk 0 Clean Convert MBR Create Partition Primary size=10240 Active Format Quick FS=NTFS label="Windows 7" Exit Exit I then tried to use the Samsung Data Migration that came along with it. I got W7 running on the SSD, but Windows Explorere would crash every minute. Tried repairing W7 with the disc, but half the time it would try to fix the startup, and the other half it would say that the disc was incompatible with the version of windows I was running. I've also tried formatting the disc from my old HDD, but that doesn't work either. Are there any other solutions that could be available, or do I just return the thing and get a new one?
  3. Which of these would I be deleting? BTW, it's an AMD on AMD swap, though I don't think that's much of a difference.
  4. If I have to re-activate, will that reset any data on my HD, such as game data, music files, pictures, etc etc? Also, which drivers are you talking about uninstalling, and what program should I use to do so?
  5. I ordered a new motherboard for my computer (ASUS M5A97 R2 LE), and I'm intending to replace my current (M4A79-XTD Evo) with it tonight. However, I'm not sure if my OS is going to accept the new MoBo. Reason is, I got my copy from a friend who bought it for around $60 via some corporate deal, and then sold it to me when he found out he didn't need it. I'm going to be using the same HD I've always used, so there's no problems there. Just checking to know if I'm going to have any trouble. Thanks, Interimo

Alright, so here's what I did. I ran a complete scan with MB, which didn't find anything. I then used TDSSKiller, which didn't find anything either. I ran Fix-It Utilities professional, which caught a couple of trojans and deleted them. I then ran MB, TDSS, and FIU again, none of which caught anything. My browsers (FF and IE9) aren't redirecting anymore, so until further notice, This problem is probably solved. Thanks for all the input, and I'll be sure to fav this thread, as it may come in handy in the future.

If I understood them, I wouldn't be here...
  8. I've been using a set of Roccat Kave 5.1s, and so far, they're awesome. They're a bit on the heavy side, but the padding used is EXTREMELY comfortable, they're circumaural, and if you tweak with your soundcard settings, any type of media sounds great. And if you're into FPS, they have a rumble feature that activates anytime a certain threshold is hit (provided something like FlexBass is being used on your soundcard). NOTE: You must get a dedicated soundcard for these things, or else they sound...thin. I'd recommend the Asus Xonar_DG, as it's very well made, and it's pretty easy on the wallet. Best of luck!

Alright, so, apparently I've picked up a browser hijacker somewhere, and my attempts at finding a solution to get rid of it isn't working out too well. So I was wondering if any of you know how to manually destroy this thing, and could explain it to me, stepp-by-step, in such a way that even a moron could understand. Many thanks, Interimo.
  10. Unfortunately, no. It isn't long enough to do that.
  11. Alright. I tried doing the re-routing thing, and that was a no-go. I tried plugging the thing into my on-board after re-enabling it, and it works like a charm. Only very light 'white noise' (which I don't mind). So, apparently, it's my sound card (HT Omega Striker 7.1). Any ideas on how to fix that? *Edit Here's the inside of my case. The card right above the power supply is my sound card. Above that is the video card. I did another test, and I noticed that when the 4-pin connector for the MoBo (the one running vertical across the video card) is plugged in, that's when I hear the sounds. When it's unplugged, I don't hear any of the 'whining' noise.
  12. Here ya go. BTW, I noticed that the sound only appears when the Orange tipped and Black cables are plugged into the sound card. Hope that helps.
  13. Alright, so here's the deal. I just bought the HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card and the Roccat Kave 5.1 headset. Only problem is, when I don't have anything playing, I hear these high-pitched 'whining' sounds. That, and when I move my mouse around, they get really noriceable. I was wondering if anybody here would be able to help me minimize/get rid of them. Thanks in advance, Interimo
  14. I just bought the Roccat Kave 5.1, and they're amazing so far.
  15. Thanks for the help, guys. I went with the Omega, as it has an 85% approval rating (including 4/5 eggs), and it'll do what I need it to do.
  16. Alright, so I'm in the market for getting a spiffy new sound card (under $120) to go with the Roccat Kave 5.1 headset. A friend recommended the HT | Omega Striker 7.1. I've also heard that the Creative 70SB088000004 7.1 is also good. Which would you choose? Any other suggestions?
  17. To give the user an option of how much space they want taken up ontheir systems.
  18. DICE and Infinity Ward are pretty cool with one another, man. It's EA that's mudslinging Activision. I'd suggest you check your sources.
  19. I'm finding that I enjoy default countermeasures more and more over pick n' choose. I mean, If a tank comes standard with 6 smokescreens, wouldn't it make sense to give it to it by default? Now, what I like in a pick n' choose is what offensive/support package you want. Give everything a default counter-measure, then give something else to counter it like extra sensors/more firepower, etc etc.
  20. Alrighty, for some reason, the image appears to be correct. Thanks for your input.
  21. Ah, yeah. Sorry for not including that. It's mirrored for both of us.
  22. Alright, so this friend of mine has a problem with her webcam. Particularly, on Skype. What's happening is her camera is automatically set to mirror-image, and it's annoying her severely. Computer: Toshiba Satellite L505-S5990 Attached is a picture with her available settings. The other tab in it contains one option that's related to light detection. I've browsed the skype forums and found nothing that could help. I'm thinking it's an onboard thing, so I was wondering if you guys could help me help her?
  23. MSE takes care of the firewall side of things, also. Basically, it's an all in one package that competes with most paid AVs.
