I still havent seen the Avengers, but this looks good.

    Join the club....

All i have seen so far is Iron man I & II and Captain America. Gotta lot of catch up to do.

    :slap:

:smack:  Give me a chance, i was only introduced to them last summer. About the only time i watch movies is with my gf... and there have been too many other movies on her must see list.

Even my old co-workers who do not like ANY super hero movie saw and liked Avengers.   It's time to take a stand on the GF.

I'm not too crazy on the first Thor.   Majority of the people love the Ironman movies and hate Captain America.   The first Ironman I liked, second was kinda meh ...but I actually like Captain America more than both of them.  Guess I liked the small kid everyone overlooks getting his chance and rising above people's expectations of him.  I can also appreciate his outlook on many of the scenarios he is put in.  In many movies when the small kid grows he gets the stereotypical ego (Spiderman for example).   Rogers/Cap is simply business as usual in the battlefield and humble outside of it.  I thought I would like him the least because I always thought the whole shield and dorky outfit didn't fit.  I also have to admit that I liked Hayley Atwell's role in the movie.   I thought she stood out more than Natalie did in Thor.   Though I wouldn't recommend Captain America to anyone because I think that it fits my personality more than it being a good movie.  All in all its probably just mediocre.

It's not she doesn't like them, she loves them, its just she has already seen them :P

I would agree, Iron man 1 was good, 2 was meh. I loved Captain America, and for some of the same reasons, have a humble superhero as you say is a nice change.

Very possible, looks a lot like it. It was my dad's rifle when he was a kid, he got it in 1970. Unfortunately, his parents have both passed away and the rifle is in storage somewhere in Paris, I can't get any pictures of it and I haven't seen it in 3 years. :(

You mean it was confiscated by the French government or another relative has it over there?? You should ask about it and maybe bring it over!! It's a nice solid gun

My dad went back to France when his mother died and cleared out her apartment and put everything in storage. We only have visas (no green cards, French passport), so there's no way we're getting a rifle through the border. But yeah, its really nice. The one I have is in mint condition, it was only shot a couple times.

How do you know its mint condition, wait it can't be if it was your dads, cause i assume a kid with a rifle shoots said rifle :P

I have the same rifle too, nice light .22lr rifle. Very accurate, has taken its fair share of varmits.

  4. Not to ruin the serious and intelligent discussion but i just saw this and had to post:(and yoes history buffs i do realize that the definition of democrat has changed over the years)

In 1863 a Democrat shot and killed Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States .

In 1983 a registered Democrat shot and wounded Ronald Reagan.

In 2007 a registered Democrat named Seung-Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people in Virginia Tech.

In 2010 a mentally ill registered Democrat named Jared Lee Loughner shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killing 6 others.

In 2011 a registered Democrat named James Holmes went into a movie theater and shot and killed 12 people.

In 2013 a registered Democrat named Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people in a school.

One could go on, but you get the point, even if the media
    do not.

Clearly there is a problem with Democrats and guns.

Perhaps it should simply be illegal for Democrats to own guns.

  5. Onion you go on road trips all the time, just meet SpeedCrazy somewhere and pick it up.

Why meet me? I don't have a 1911 to sell him.

Oh and onion, you do know that in the US you have to be 21 to buy a handgun. I seem to recall you are only recently out of high school.

EDIT: A quick check of your profile confirms that. You can't buy a handgun, legally...

On the topic of cheese, I fucking love ritz crackers and aged cheddar. Just something about it pulls me in... :pfp:

I've eaten a whole quarter pound block of Cabbot cheese and 2 packs or Ritz crackers in one sitting before.. lol

    :pfp:

    Guilty of the same...

    Me Three.....

I love me some sharp cheddar and crackers. Thick slice of cheddar and a cracker is my idea of a good time :P

They should combine all threads in every section into one uber thread instead :D

Or just make an official thread for everything y'all can come up with.

If we did that, about half the threads in the Member Lounge would be one. Good day, bad day, what I did today. All that would be one massive thread instead of a bunch of small little things that just take up space.

Actually i am wondering what happened there haha

    Onion got bored.

  8. left early for work and got home an hour ago to find i tripped a breaker shortly after i left, at least all my folders arent on the same circuit, but my main pc was.

and speed ive got ac, i aint scared of no ghost heat

Oh i have ac. But i leave it off as long as possible. And when i do turn it on its expensive enough to keep the house at liveable temps let alone fold-able temps. Most of the summer here it sits between 90F and 105F. Keeping the house between 80F and 85F is liveable but not suitable for folding.

not this payday but next payday im taking care of this mobo issue, then ill get the 275's going

Hope your payday gets here before the heat. Those babies gonna get pretty hot. I'm down to just cpu now.

<rant>I just turned in a cpu unit that took 3 days, and guess what kinda points i got? 352 measly points!!! For three days of 24/7 folding!!!!</end rant>

@above. I love the idea of solar, but if i instal it now, it might have paid for itself by the time my kids are retiring. And by that point electricity may be out the window... that said if anyone wants to set me up. :whistling:

Get a passkey and that may have been as high as 15K

Thats the worst bit, i have a passkey.

I blame work, and wedding prep, and family.

 Gotta love that I have enough sick leave already for it to not be an issue though.

what! my boss says sick leave doesnt exist, its only on tv

You've got to remember he is working for obama. He probably gets paid sick leave, paid vacation and a life long pension.

  12. Hey Guys,

I'm having a rather irritating problem. I use thunderbird for accessing my email and as such have 3 accounts connected to it. Two of those accounts are gmail. This morning, thunderbird failed to login to my primary gmail acc.

So first i logged in online to make sure the password had not been changed, all good. I changed the password, updated thunderbird and still it wont log in. The other account is working fine the whole time.

I did some googling and reduced the number of cached connections, no dice.

Changed servers, tried pop and imap, neither work. But the other gmail account continues to work.

Any ideas guys, i really need to get this fixed.

    Thanks,

    Speed

  13. I had just got rolling properly, then this durn heat had to appear. I want my spring back.

Got my 930 going intermittently, and my one servicable gtx250 24/7

  14. Just imagine how quick i.e. Photoshop will run with a ramdisk of say 128gb with photoshop og 3dmaya or something of that sort and all required folders on it, rest of ram dedicated to processing. On top of that you ahve the mobile nvidia computing rack with quadro cards and a total of 32 cores. That's just insane! :P

Forget photoshop. Think folding!! :woot:

Same thing with AR15 pattern rifles and AK47 pattern rifles, they're all similar but not all are equal

And if you live in CT, with the stroke of a pen they are now illegal.

Isn't it ironic how most of the original thirteen colonies that fought so hard against tyranny are now the most tyrannical of all the states?

REally, i think SC and Georgia must be some of the most lenient.

  16.

Tried chew when I was like 12, got addicted, used for about a year behind my parents back and to this day I still randomly spit like I'm trying to expel the the thick, slimy chew gunked saliva :-/ That is the worst part about it, the spitting.

Chew/dip are by far the most disgusting products the tobacco industry has to offer, if you think second hand smoke is bad, wait till you step in a gooey puddle of expelled chew spit. Mmm, shoe funk.

I raise you my friend who did dip and had a water bottle that he would spit it out into. SO EFFIN DISGUSTING, I was so appalled by that. This murky, cloudy, blackish water was in there. *shivers*

Yeah, this is the one thing i hate about living in the south. Every 'cool kid' dips.

Though on the subject of those ubiquitous water bottles, my buddy was spitting in a solo cup, and drinking tea from another solo cup.... i'll let your imagination supply the rest(hint: without ice, tea and dip spit are identical), the day afterwards he filled my sub with dip.(took me forever to get that taste out of my mouth)

The thing that gets me is that it may be illegal but no one cares, i see 16-18 year olds in school, in church, at the police fundraiser bbq(?bold huh?) coolly dipping and spitting.

  17. Assuming you will be briefed on safety, its basically point and shoot.

Let me give you a few of my tips.  Your snub revolver is a close range weapon with a good amount of powder in the bullet.  There is not a lot of accuracy built into it.  Therefore don't try to use it for distance target shooting with a small target.  Learn to use it for what its intended for.  Lets be honest.  Its meant to shoot SOMEONE.

If you have a circular target then aim relatively to the 6 o'clock position on the target, to start with, until you see where your shots are going.  I don't know how much trigger resistance you have on your particular pistol, but get used to squeezing smoothly, with consistency.  If you pull too quickly, you may be moving your aim as you squeeze, with bad, inconsistent, end results.

Lead with your arm and shoulder closest to the target with the rest of your body at a kind of side profile.  You don't need to face the target with your chest and your arm sticking out straight forward from your body.

Get used to the recoil and don't be impressed with what people say about it.  If your arm is extended then most of the recoil will actually happen in your wrist area.  You can learn to recover your aim faster as you get used to recoil.

    Practice, Practice, Practice.

    Good Luck.

Edit: Dayam, It looks like I was a day late and a bullet short on the advice.  Glad all went well for you.

    More like months late. :P
