  1. The 1090T X6 will last longer in the future since it currently gives out the same performance as an i7 930 and in the future , more programs will be adapted to 6 cores (as most programs are now adapted to quads) and there is a chance that AM3 may support Bulldozer but it is confirmed that LGA1366 is going to die out so take a chance that you can upgrade on the platform with AM3.

That's what I like from AMD. they don't change their socket too often like intel. Maybe the later 8 cores AMD will last in AM3 socket..so you will not have to change your motherboard. The 1090T X6 is not the same as i7 930, its performance is between 930 and 950, if the software supports the six core, it will be far beyond 930, moreover, if you overclock it to 4.2GHz....

  2. You cant put 4x5970s,i think its limited to only 4 gpus in crossfire.

9grand for a system is very overloaded...so I think of something that over too.. I would not buy a rig for 9grand...that a waste.. :( but imagine you can put up to 8 GPUs in you xfire system....what a beast. sure later it will ^^

  3. Cool... 9grand of system is not a personal computer anymore, you can put 4x5970 with i7 980X or even crossfired Ati Fire Pro with 6 monitor.....it is a personal super computer.... I think I just take 4grand to built a rig and save the 5grand...imagine how many ice cream I could buy with 5 grand.. :)

  4. you may be getting an error because of unicode. Download applocale and try running it through that. Make sure to select Japanese as the language. If I recall correctly, its at the very bottom of the list and starts with a squared off 8 looking symbol.

I have just downloaded the applocale, but when I want to install it, in the middle of progress, this message occurred:

"There is a problem with windows installer package. A program that required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"

It is so hard to play a game.. T.T do you have any other conclusion?

    thanks

  5. The intel i7 have 8 thread as well, 4 true cores, and 4 logical cores, equals to 8 logical cores. 4 logical cores in i7 vs 2 true cores in AMD 1090T, if your software support 6 core, and able to work on all of the 6 cores, the speed will be above i7 930, but it is still under i7 950...That's what I read in so many reviews and benchmark about X6 1090T and i7 930.. no offense to the other opinion, but I just shared what I know.. The choice is up to the rig builder... ^^

  6. Agree..instead of i7 930, I would like to choose AMD Phenom X6 1090T....with 890FX based motherboard.. it will do Crossfire X in 16x/16x. I don't know if AMD's motherboards can be used for SLI. but I think it is no problem...maybe the expert can explain about this..

Actually, coolermaster GX series is a good and though PSU too, but has a lower price....650-750watt is enough for your system, your SLI is GTX460, not GTX480. GTX460 is not as heavy as GTX480.

CrossfireX Ati Radeon HD 5870 still can be done with 650watt pure PSU...but it is very close.. So for your rig 650watt is enough already I think..or If you have a doubt, just go for 700-750watt PSU, it will be a waste if you take 800watt above PSU...

  7. what game is it and have you tried running it in compatibility mode yet?

Sorry wevsspot, but I don't know the title, it is a japanese fighting game, the title is in japanese, I just know that is the game I has been looking for from the screenshots. :D

some japanese games sometimes hard to be executed, I don't know why..

How to run the game in compatibility mode? I have heard a software that can be used in windows 7 to run softwares that only compatible with windows XP. XP mode if I true..how about that?

    regards

If I start the game, it won't start and told me the reg.exe has stopped working. when I run the reg.exe file that given from the game, I just found the reg.exe has stopped working again. I have scanned all of the files with antivirus, and no virus at all.

  9. If it is a driver conflict that won't be resolved until Asus releases an updated driver, you only have two choices.

    Live with it.

    or

Remove the Asus Advanced Power Configuration Utility and let Windows manage your power settings.

If it were me I'd choose option #2 until Asus gets the driver straightened out.

    Regards,

wow, you are amazing, I can't imagined you understand the root of the problem only from that combination of letters and numbers.

I will think of what choice should I pick, but thanks for the suggestion.. Until now, the regsvr error is not disturbing my computer system, I just have to close it at startup.. :)

And I have sent technical inquiry to asus. I hope they respond it ASAP, and release the update soon..

Wevsspot, thank you very much.. You have helped me a lot.. :D

    Best regards..

  10. Hey wevsspot, I get my laptop back. The harddrive issue has became no problem again because of the defraggler, it such a useful program. thanks.

The microsoft register server error is still exist, even my buddy has recovered my windows back just as new. My friend ask asus technical support, and it is said that the microsoft register server problem is because of the ATK driver is not up to date with the hardware. I should wait the driver released from asus.

They said that the other asus G73 users are having the same problem. But they are not bothered with it. I don't know if it is true because of the driver or not...

here is the event log of the MIcrosoft Register Server Error:

  11. Ditch the asus recovery and ask your buddy to install win7 from scratch. Sometimes all that junk that comes preinstalled causes problems.

That wallpaper thing is just...wow. Why would you prevent your customer from being able to change wallpapers...

    My 2 cents FWIW

    ViperK,

I can just simply ditch the asus recovery from my hidden partition, but the laptop is only bundled with 1 CD, "Asus Utility and Driver", it doens't come with a Genuine Windows 7 HP 64bit..That what makes me think twice before ditching the recovery. It is a waste if I ditch it and buy another Windows 7 HP 64bit..

I don't know what asus think about the wallpaper.. But I hope it doesn't happen to another asus user..

    Wevsspot,

Yeah, I am sure I will check it twice after installing any programs later... I hope after I get my laptop back, the problems regsvr have been fixed and they will be the last problems I've ever seen on my laptop..

actually he is not reinstalling windows 7, he is recovering my laptop so the condition will be the same as the time when I turned it on for the first time. The laptop is not coming with any Genuine Windows DVD. only asus utility driver CD. yes, only that one..

Do you mean something is wrong with my windows with Microsoft Register Server and Disk Defragmenter issues?

    best Regards,

    Lic

  12. Microsoft Register Server has stopped working;

Check the event log and post up any error or critical notifications that deal with this error - check both the application and the system logs

Also, try booting the machine in safe mode and see if the error occurs

    Wallpaper Issue

Asus has apparently enabled the feature that prevents users from changing their desktop wallpaper/appearance

    To fix this;

    Start>Seach Box>type in "gpedit.msc" without the quotations

The Local Group Policy Editor will open

Expand User Configuration>Expand Administrative Templates>Expand Desktop>now click on Desktop in the sub-directory key

Look for the entry in the right hand pane (should be fourth one down - Desktop Wallpaper

Double click on that and choose Setting - available options will be; not configured, enabled or disabled

    Choose disabled

    Here is an illustration of what you'll see;

    Disk Defragmentation Hangs

First step to is use the built in history and cookie cleaners built in to IE and/or Firefox

Afterwards use the Windows disk cleanup utility to clean unused/old files

    Next go to www.defraggler.com

Download and install defraggler then run it

It will probably hang to, but the nice thing about defraggler is it will tell you which file(s) you're hanging up on and then we can take it from there

    Wevsspot,

for the log, I am sorry I cannot post it right now, because the laptop isn't with me right now, my friend was trying to fix it, but just now, he said that he couldn't find any conclusion, so he will do a recovery from asus hidden partition which will make the laptop is just like new to find the source of the error..

The wallpaper works again! thank you very much Wevsspot! Asus sure piss me off with that wallpaper thing, and I have no more problem with it at all.

Defraggler.com --> piriform software sure is good, I just browsed their websites, and I think I found some program that is very useful...

Again, thank you very much for your help Wevsspot.. :D

    Best regards.

  13. I recently bought my Asus G73JH-A1 laptop with genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Only 1 day after I bought it, I have problems with the windows. The hardware seems work fine and no problem at all. I was a Windows XP Professional 32bit. user and this is my the first time I am using Windows 7. No virus, no spyware, or no malware, I haven't opened anything suspicious. I can just simply hit f9 in BIOS and recover it so it will act like the first time I bought this laptop, but I want to know another way to solve it instead of formatting my HDD.

    These are the problems:

    1. I have this window always shows up at startup.

"Microsoft Register Server has stopped working"

"check for online solution and close the program"

    "Close the program"

I have ever click "check online solution" but it useless.

This problem actually doesn't bother my system performance and my work, but it just a pain in my eyes to see it everytime I start the windows up and click "close the program". I have searched through the internet and I only found some conclusion only for vista 32bit with something like "regsvr32" from windows directory. I have ever tried it with my 64bit 7, it didn't work.

So actually is there any other conclusion? Or can I make this windows register server work again? is windows register server is very important to my system?

    2. Asus sure have their laptops installed with Asus desktop theme.

Yeah, I can change the theme from "desktop > personalization". The theme has no problem when I change it. and it changes smoothly. BUT It will last untill I shut down or restart my laptop. After I restart my laptop or shut it down and then start the windows up, (the microsoft register server still shows up) and the theme will last only a few seconds, and it will return back automatically to Asus theme and asus wallpaper.

I tested the laptop. I downloaded a picture wallpaper, say it "wallpaper A". I made it as my desktop wallpaper (right click > set as desktop background). The wallpaper changed! AGAIN. When I started the windows up, the wallpaper A last only a few seconds, then the wallpaper changed to asus wallpaper.

Sometimes the cases are different. When I started the windows up, the wallpaper was already Asus, then after a few seconds, it automatically changed to the wallpaper A. Sometimes it not changed at all. When I started the windows up, the wallpaper already became asus wallpaper and stuck.

    Is there any conclusion??

    3. Is this normal?

I tried to defragment the drive OS (C:/). I analize it first, but the percentage suddenly showed 70% and stucked, sometimes 90%, sometimes 68%. The processor indicator LED showed the processor was still working.. is this normal?

If you have any conclusion please explain me in a simple way, because I know nothing about programming and registry manipulation. If you have to explain me with some registry manipulation, please tell me step by step..

Thank you very much for your help. I never found something like this in my Windows XP before..

    Best Regards

  14. No, I want to run my system normally, I don't want to overclock it.. 5870 is enough for me, moreover, if it is crossfired.. hehe.. Stock speed is enough for me.. Phenom 1090t at stock speed won't bottleneck the 5870xfire?

So 650watt is enough right? first of all, sorry If I have so many question to be asked.. I want to know more about hardware.. >.<

And, joel.monteiro, based on your explanation, 890fx chipset is better than 890gx.. I haven't build my system yet, but I am planning to have a Gigabyte Motherboard. Current plan is :

    GA-890GPA-UD3H

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128435

    Compared to this

    GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128441

which one is better? the spec is nearly the same I think.. the price is not too far..

Or is there any motherboards you can suggest to me?

which one should I take? 890gx or 890fx chipset? thanks...

  15. I want to have a crossfireX mode with my 5870 from gigabyte. Is Cooler Master GX 650Watt is enough? it is said that the max output is 780watt, and crossfire ready. The CPU is AMD Phenom II X6 1090T. I have ever heard--forgot the source--this AMD will be a bottleneck if I do a crossfireX, Is that true? thank you..

oh I forgot, Can I do a crossfireX 5870 with stock cooler? without liquid cooling or extra cooler... Casing I am currently use: Azza Helios, the cooling is good enough I think with 230mm fan..but need your suggestion.. thank you..

  16. Your welcome. The Sappire HD5850 Toxic is a nice card too. You can't go wrong with either one. If you feel you need more horsepower later on you could always buy another and Crossfire them. Crossfire performance is outstanding on the new generation ATi cards and scales really well.

For power supply calculators - take what the calculator gives you and add about 30%. That is usually a safe margin for ensuring that you aren't always pushing the power supply at peak voltage and amperage.

Well...your explanation is very helpful. Thanks again.. I will take the CORSAIR PSU as you told me.. I have compared it, and I think CORSAIR is the best with 5 years warranty... =D then I think I could build my system well... ^^

  17. Liclac,

If you are going to do a lot of work and only a little gaming then the HD 5870 might be a little of an overkill. You would probably be just as happy with a HD 5850 (from Sapphire of course - and vaporx edition of course :))

Regarding your power supply - invest in money well spent and insist on a Corsair TX/HX series power supply. 650W would work, but I would recommend at least the TX750 at minimum.

Other than that your build looks pretty solid.

Heavy design and rendering would benefit if you increase your memory from 4Gb to 8Gb.

    Regards,

Yeah, I am going to upgrade my memory to 8 or 12 GB...but not now, the memory price in my country is very expensive now, don't know why...I will upgrade my memory next year or in the next few months..

Thanks for your advice... 5870 and 5850 is not different too much I think. 5850 can still run game nowadays in very high graphic... And the PSU maybe I will do your advice, corsair PSU.. but if 650 is enough already, I will just take 650 or 600 or 550... I get a PSU calculator http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and I get my system would run in about 472watt with 2 HDD and 16GB of memory...

I will just recustomize my system then.. thanks for your advice wevsspot....

err....sorry forgot to ask, how about 5850 Sapphire Toxic edition, the price is higher 10dollar to Sapphire 5850 VaporX..

  18. Guys, I am going to build a new PC Desktop. I will use it for design, rendering, 3DSMAX, Maya, Vray, and gaming a little..

My budget is under 14million, in USdollar maybe under 1400 USDOLLAR including monitor. Mice and keyboard n OS are not included...already have it.

    This is the spec.

    Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz 9MB Cache [290]

MB: ASRock 890GX Extreme III [150]

    Memory DDR3: Kingston KHX 8500 D2K2 / 4GB Single [120]

HDD: Western Digital SATA II Green 750GB 32Mb [60]

    GPU: Sapphire HD 5870 Vapor-X 1GB 256Bit GDDR5 [450]

Optical Drive: Liteon DVDRW 24x [25]

    Casing: Vantec TSX300B

    PSU: CONFUSED....

    LCD Monitor: Samsung 20inch P2050

Is this system compatible each other? I won't buy it rom newegg.. I will buy it directly to my friend's shop..

The one I want to ask is about PSU and casing. With all of this hardware, how many watts needed to run this system well? [at least I can plug HDD ext] I am planning to take PSU from Vantec TSX300B casing 600watt..is this PSU pure or not? I ask one of store in a computers store around my house, he said that the PSU from Vantec Casing is all pure.... Help me with your experience... If this Vantec PSU is not pure and not good, what PSU should I take? how about Speedpower AX-650-S 650watt PSU? I heard Speedpower is a good PSU though... My budget in PSU about 720dollar. My friend said that 550watt is already enough for this..but I don't know... T.T

and how about Vantec case? I am not looking for a gamer case that cost above 100dollar, 60 dollar is enough.. and I found this Vantec TSX300B case with 60dollar w/o PSU.. Is This case is good in the cooling system and air flow? 4 fan, [rear, front, side]

thank you very much, and sorry If I ask so many.. ^^
