  1. The answer is probably no......The word Bottleneck is used too much. Your good to go with twin cards. Pretty much everyone is guessing. if you are, it won't be a lot.
  2. just use Asus overclock utility in AI suite. Works like a charm without rebooting.
  3. You need more vcore.. The scrren shot is 3850K if I remember correctly
  4. I hope you realize that you sound like an immature child when you post like this. Also - what Clay said. Waco, try finding a woman instead of using your right hand. You may become a nice individual someday.
  5. I saw the preview on a Facebook link to Tom's Queer. The benchmarks were limited as it looks like Intel did an AMD on this one with specific Intel Benchmarks(the ones showing the best increases). The benchies were limited and do not show the entire picture. The reviewer did not want to overclock a "borrowed" CPU. It was rather lame.
  6. You don't have to update the bios. Put it in the other PCIe slot and disbale on board. Make sure the correct PCIe slot is chosen in the bios. Make sure the card is properly seated.
  7. Not neccesarily. It depends on what he wants to spend... AMD FX-8350 is on par with 3570K but it will do better when multi threading. A10-5800K is better than i3 3220 at the mainstream end. SandyBridge E Processors still rule the roost but at $500-$1000 that is steep. The i7 3770K is the best all around CPU at $300.

  9. IMO, neither. The core i7 3770K will do as good job as Sandy E processors while using less expensive Z77 motherboards. X79 motherboards are more expensive. I have a 3930K with X79 motherboard and I game with my i7 3770K if that says something. If you already have the X79 motherboard, stick with the 3820. There will not be much advantage with the 3930K in gaming and you will save a boatload of cash.
  10. Samsung 840 is a great drive and uses the nand controller which isvery good. New technoogly will come at a premium so the v2 controller(which I haven't heard of) will be more $.
  11. Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus is your guy or the EVO. Best cheap air cooling solution available at $30. Does a nice job and should be better than the coolers you listed. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
  12. Wanna see 6GHz? I could not get 4 cores stable at 6Ghz... shucks. I have 6Ghz somewhere on Intel too! -67 C will get your nipples hard in a hurry!
  13. NO... Unless you just had a crap chip. I overclocked a handfull and these steppings got 4.5GHz. In a matter of fact, a lot of the last 965's got the same overclock. 975's and 980's were bimmed chips. Send me the chip, I will get 4.5Ghz. Remember, you need 1.35 volts on CPU/NB too.
  14. As memtioned, there is usually an innie an outtie LOL, Try it and see what shakes out.
  15. Ohhh no, the 975's get 4.5Ghz easily. They are binned 955/965's. If your cooling can handle 1.55-1.6 volts. that baby will do 4.5GHz stable. plus the HT can overclock fine. I got 238 on the HTT. Here is a suicide run I did on custom water with a 980 which is the same chip... On air, all you will get is about 4.3GHz due to temps. I used 1.52 volts for 4.3Ghz but as you see, water will take it further. Here is a dry ice run:
  16. Thats what I was trying to get at.....
  17. I like the way you think young man! Edit: That Asrock seems to get praised then bashed on OCC. Personally I've never owned a product made by them. Obviously you think they're fine. Anyone else care to weigh in?? I just retired as a motherboard reviewer and every ASRock board I tested was good. Nothing bad to say about them. I have had bad Gigabyte and Asus boards but never an ASRock unless you count the one I beat up on Dry Ice! LOL. I did not let the socket dry from condensation years ago and fired it back up...... Resulting in buh bye! LOL The included extras ASRock gives is terrific and the UEFI bios is pretty good. I am sure you will like it. Just like any other manufacturers, sometimes boards go bad so I don't hold it against them unless you see a slew of em bad, your good to go on basically any Z77 board Fom Asus, Gigabyte, ASRock, MSI and Biostar.
  18. If you live near Philly, Microcenter has core i7 3770K for $229 and an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 for $135 total $265. You can get Crucial Ballistix Sport series 8G 1600MHz memory for $40 on New Egg(You could prpbably have Microcenter price match it too). Forget what your using it for. It has no bearing on anything........ You have $400, maximize you system.
  19. The photo is right from EK's website and all EK nickel supremecy are the same design. There is a difference what port is the inlet on almost all waterblocks and that could be the culprit.
  20. Sometimes you get a card with the Tim poorly applied. Sapphire IMO has great cards. I am running 3 x 7970's from Sappire and temps are very cool.
  21. It is hard to see if you have the correct line in on the block. The directions specifically say the port closest to the middle. Something looks different compared to the instructions. The EK logo looks diffrent position...
