  1. EVGA has fantastic customer support, I'm pretty sure they'll make things right without costing you a dime.
  2. I guess for that price difference, I'd go with Skylake.
  3. FYI, an EVGA rep said it only occurs on the GTX 970. This isn't a problem with the GTX 980 (and I'm assuming any other GTX 900 series card).
  4. It's probably not a BIOS issue, but hardware differences from the card's manufacturer. I hear Zotac has the same issues on some of their cards as well. Surprising that there's been absolutely no news articles about this. If this is going to be a quietly hidden trend by EVGA and Zotac, I probably won't be buying any graphics cards from them. Who reads their FAQ before buying a card to SLI? They should at least state it on their outside box. Hopefully ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte don't follow in their footsteps.
  5. I just saw it the 2nd time, this time with the wife. She enjoyed it. We watched the Return of the Jedi last night to bring her back to speed, and she was falling asleep. Stupid special editions... By the way, George Lucas will have a special edition coming, ain't you all excited!
  6. This is actually the first I've ever heard of such a thing. Never had issues with SLI on different brands since the GTX 200 series. I wonder why EVGA (and possibly others?) are doing this now.
  7. Use a wifi analyzer to find all channels in use in your area, and then set your channels so they don't overlap with any others.
  8. Unfortunately, I think flashing the BIOS on either card to match the other card might be the only way. It's a pretty simple process. I just can't believe EVGA had started doing this, it seems mighty silly. I can write you a simpler guide, if you want. This is up-to-date on how to flash your BIOS. http://www.overclock.net/t/1517316/extract-and-flash-gtx-970-and-980-firmware-zosons-h2o-and-air-custom-bios There are two ways to save your BIOS, via GPU-Z, and NVFLASH. I would just save both card's BIOS's, then flash one card with the other's BIOS.
  9. Looks like NVIDIA will need to update their own FAQ: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/sli/faq#c17
  10. A Reddit thread (also ends up at the same EVGA FAQ link): https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/30lw5z/psa_not_all_models_of_evga_gtx_970s_are_sli/
  11. I've done some searching, and it does seem to be an EVGA issue? That's really weird. I'll see if I find someone who had a solution. Possibly the only way would be to flash the EVGA BIOS to a different BIOS. https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=59534
  12. Yeah, it was due to Steamguard, I read.
  13. I think most Facebook games are Flash-based games, but I could be wrong. Are you there to monitor the CPU and APU usage while they're playing on it? My guess is that it's pegging their CPU and memory, since they're also probably playing the game on a browser.
  14. Display Driver Uninstaller has been great, if you've never used it before. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
  15. Uninstall drivers, then re-install drivers. I never had issues with SLI on different cards, even with EVGA.
  16. Yeah, I've got lots, just IM me and we can go from there.
  17. Probably didn't complete uninstall your AMD drivers.
  18. Anakin's and Luke's lightsaber Rey has is cursed. She better make her own lightsabler lest she loses her right hand.
  19. Picking apart "A New Hope"? Here goes (from the point of view that the prequels did not exist, yet, nor Empire Strikes Back or anything else): The Good: Overall, good main characters all around. I liked Luke, Obi-wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. Darth Vader was interesting as a villain, but C3PO was kind of a pansy. It was an enjoyable movie. It had funny moments, sad moments, some good action and landscape visuals. The Bad: Space is a vacuum, there's no sound in space. It was a little slowgoing. The acting was kind of cheesy. A parsec is a measurement of distance, not time. They can scan an escape pod for life forms, but they didn't think about doing that with the Millennium Falcon? Obi-wan Kenobi's death, wtf? Luke used to bullseye womprats? Why? That's psychopathic. A fat dude's nickname was Porkins. The Ugly: Han shot first. He's such a scoundrel!
  20. edit: El_Capitan... you should flag your post as a spoiler just in case ccokeman hasn't read the first post. Lol, the title of the thread is [spoilerS] - Star Wars VII Thoughts. If he can't read that, then there is no hope.
  21. It's an enjoyable movie. It was, how one person said it, It has many flaws, but they weren't Star Wars flaws. They were general movie and J.J. Abrams flaws. Honestly, if I have to see a new Star Wars movie where they have to blow up yet another type of Death Star, no matter how much bigger it is, then I'm done. There's literally hundreds of Star Wars books that are out there, none of them canon, anymore, that they could have used or gleamed ideas off of. They took none, and just rehashed The New Hope with a younger cast along with some of the older heroes. It's just one of those movies where you know they could have made it great, but they made it just good enough where you won't lump it in with the prequels. I can see where people might like it better than Return of the Jedi, but I liked Return of the Jedi better, still.
  22. Lol, no one was crying when I saw it, but looking around, a lot of people had smiley faces.
