    Official OCC 2014 Christmas Contest

Clearly, BP, a surface of this size really caters to the multi-display crowd. Feels great, and no pick-ups required.

    Mass Effect: Andromeda

BioWare stated that they plan the Mass Effect 4 release date to be in October 2015 and they will reveal more details during E3 2015. As much as I've been sour about ME4 in the past, I have to say I'm looking forward to the next installment... Ready to preorder? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Electronic-Arts-Mass-Effect-PC/dp/B00KHJLS6E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1420524602&sr=8-3&keywords=mass+effect+4

Nostalgia gaming thread - Whats your favorites?

I loved MissionForce:CyberStorm - great turn-based strategy game with Hercs. The follow-up was okay, but just didn't have the same zing. I also loved Freelancer - played on a couple of mods (Asgard!) for a long time.

    Mass Effect: Andromeda

I dunno... I bought the collector editions of 2 and 3 because I was so into the game, but 3 fell so flat that I didn't even go for the latest DLC. Seems like 3 had potential, even when I started it... but somewhere about a third of the way through, it went off the rails for me. The relationships in the game came unmoored and the gameplay felt rushed and repetitive. I finished it once, got the DLC to "fix" the end, but never played a second character through once I realized those hundreds of decision points all still ended at the same place. So, 4? meh.

    Mass Effect 3

I touched up fuel capacity and item highlight - I don't think there's much in there that will improve graphics. The cinematics straight from the HD vids they've released are the same as the max gameplay settings. You might be able to smooth a little or play with shadows, but I think we're forever going to have that gritty, texture-over-model look. I've got two characters pretty far along. So far, "big" decisions from ME1 and 2 change some outcomes slightly, but the overall plot line is kind of immutable. Some of the cut scenes are inconvenient, espesh when one flows into the other for extended periods with no option to pause for beer/bathroom/phone call breaks. Hate the spacebar - it is used for too many things, resulting in unexpected behaviour during combat. I despise suddenly rolling and getting stuck to walls at exactly the wrong time. Still, loving this game in a big way. The wait was worth it.

    2010 Sniper Bulid Log

Alright OCC community - next upgrade is an SSD, but I'm a bit out of my depth and I'm seeking advice. I'm planning to install the OS onto the SSD, un-RAID the two HDDs and reformat them, using them as independent drives for storage. A buddy recommended that I switch from an IDE storage configuration to AHCI beforehand. SO - do I first need to format the SDD, or change to AHCI in the BIOS first? Should I just unplug the two HDDs while I'm installing the OS, then plug them in when I'm back up in Windows? Ideas, please. :-)
