  2. In August 2018, Torchlight Frontiers was announced as the next entry in that ARPG series, but today there has been a significant update to its plans, including a name change. Based on feedback from Alpha testers, internal teams, and guidance from the publisher, the developers decided it would be best to make some significant changes to the project, including its name to Torchlight III. It will also become a premium title, meaning you will have to purchase a copy, as opposed to using a free-to-play or subscription model. It will also now use Steam for PC distribution and those who have been part of the Alphas on the Arc platform can expect a Steam key to arrive for continued testing there. The gameplay itself will also change some, as it will now use the classic Act structure seen in previous title, having them start at the Imperial Outpost as it is under siege by goblin hordes. Horizontal progression is also being removed, as well as Frontier-specific levels, gear stats, and scaling, so the progression systems will be re-tuned to better work with this. Zones will now be private by default, to give players a better experience, though you will still be able to meet people at public towns and group up. Unless, that is, you create your character with Offline Mode as such characters will not be able to participate in multiplayer games. Online Mode characters will be able to, but will apparently also require an Internet connection to play. Even though these are definitely some significant changes, the plan is still to have Torchlight III release this year on PC and then come to consoles shortly thereafter.     Source: Torchlight III Website Back to original news post
  3. Almost exactly one year after Metro Exodus released, the game's second major story DLC will release. Sam's Story follows Sam, a former U.S. Marine that became a Spartan Ranger under Colonel Miller since the nuclear war devastated Moscow. Being the lone American among the Spartans, his hope of escaping the Metro and finding a way back home was perhaps more pointed, but also seemed less possible. With Arytom having successfully led the group from Moscow, however, perhaps the hope is not so foolish, so Sam leaves the Aurora train the group used to cross the country so he can explore Vladivostok's tsunami-ravaged harbors, ruined industrial buildings, and what remains of the residential districts. Sams' Story is placed within a sandbox survival level with a non-linear design. It will also feature new dangers including mutant variants as well as new characters and weapons. It will be available to purchase on February 11, but is included in the game's Expansion Pass, so if you already have that, you should be able to expect a sizeable download that day. Humble Weekly Sales

Humble Bundle has just started Weekly Sales. (First link to Humble Bundle, second to the news item.) My intent for this thread is to maintain it like the Steam Daily Deals thread, so hopefully I will remember to update it. As the price fluctuates and is pay-what-you-want any way, instead of giving that, I will list what the bonus items are for paying more. Bastion: Beat The Average (BTA) bonus: Soundtrack (MP3/FLAC) Art Pack Sheet Music Ringtones $25 Merchandise Bonus: Bastion Bandana Bastion Soundtrack CD Bastion Postcard Transistor Postcard

  7. EK is expanding its offerings of cooling products with the new EK-AIO coolers. As the name suggests, these are all-in-one liquid coolers, so while they may not be expandable like the custom liquid cooling setups we can build from EK parts, they can be easily and quickly installed and do not require special maintenance. There are three versions of the EK-AIO, the 120 D-RGB, 240 D-RGB, and 360 D-RGB, which, as you can probably guess, differ in the size of their radiators and the number of included fans. Each use EK Vardar fans with nine addressable D-RGB LEDs under the motor hub that will illuminate the seven milky colored blades. The SPC style pump has a dense copper fin structure beneath it and a frosted cover above for its D-RGB LEDs to shine through. For the radiators, EK is using 28 mm thick aluminum radiators with 12 channels. While the channels make it efficient, this thickness should help make the cooler compatible with most cases, depending on the length. All three EK-AIO products are up for pre-order now and will start shipping on February 28. The EK-AIO 120 D-RGB is priced at $89.99, the EK-AIO 240 D-RGB at $119.99, and the EK-AIO 360 D-RGB at $154.99, though each is enjoying a special sale price at the moment. Finished recording so I'm uploading the video now. It got long because I felt like pushing through rather than stopping just before certain moments. Will go live at the usual time tomorrow.

    OCC Twitch Stream

Just as the title says, we are going to try an experiment by streaming some gameplay on the brand new, OverclockersClub Twitch account. What's going to be streamed, you ask? The current plan is the newly released The Crew action-driving MMO, which I am in the process of reviewing. When? My plan is tomorrow (12/03/2014) at 4 PM EST. I am not sure how long I will be going, but I will try for a target of 5 PM. (By the way, my connection has an odd tendency to very briefly give out, but not briefly enough to keep some programs from disconnecting. I will try to monitor the stream on my laptop though, so if something goes wrong, hopefully I will be able to fix it quickly.) Will I be on a microphone? I want to do some testing on that first, to make sure volume levels won't be a problem, but I will see if that can happen. (Probably over thinking that.) No camera though. So that's the plan for this experiment. Hopefully it will go well and I won't crash and burn, except in the game. 19. ScourgeBringer, a rogue-platformer coming from developer Flying Oak Games and publisher Dear Villagers is coming to Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Pass for PC on February 6. The game follows Kyhra, a hero sent to learn the secrets of an Eldritch monolith threatening her world. With her trusty combat drone, she must shoot and slash through the depths of the ever-changing dungeon with massive bosses, ancient machines, and strange ghosts. Secrets from previous explorers also await her there and there will be no backtracking as you follow the procedural combination of pre-built challenge rooms. As the trailer below shows, ScourageBringer features a pixel graphics style and will offer you fluid control during aerial combat. Its soundtrack comes from composer Joonas Turner, who you might know from Nuclear Throne, Downwell, and Broforce. It is expected to launch later this year on PC and consoles.     Source: Press Release Back to original news post
  20. At CES 2020, among the products announced by AMD were its upcoming Ryzen 4000 series APUs aimed at laptops, a market segment Intel currently dominates. Of course Intel is also working on new processors for this market as well, and now some benchmark results have apparently leaked, including for the Core i9-10980HK, a 45 W part with a base clock of 3.10 GHz and a potential boost clock of over 5 GHz for its 8 cores/16 threads. In the leaked Geekbench results though, it only reported as 5 GHz, which WCCFTech speculates might be the sustained boost. Its single-core score on Geekbench 4 was 5500 points and 31,600 points for the multi-core score. That multi-core score has it beating the desktop-grade Ryzen 5 3600X, a 6 core/12 thread part, but falling behind the Ryzen 7 3700X, an 8 core/16 thread part. It is comparable to the Core i7-9700K, however, and does beat the Core i9-9980HK it will succeed by 5% on single-core and 14% on multi-core. Supposedly the Core i9-10980HK will be paired in systems with NVIDIA GeForce RTX Super-series GPUs. Benchmark results for the Core i7-10750H and Core i5-10300H have also been discovered, and both beat their predecessors as well. The Core i7-10750H also did 14.7% better in the 3DMark Time Spy CPU test than the Ryzen 7 4800U APU, one of the parts AMD announced at CES 2020. Unfortunately beating the Ryzen 7 4800U is not as impressive as some way want, as the AMD chip is 15 W to 25 W part while the Core i7-10750H is a 45 W part. The Ryzen 7 4800H would be the better comparison, as it is also a 45 W part, but there are no Time Spy results for that yet. As all of this information comes from leaks, it should also all be taken as rumors, and so might be inaccurate. Hopefully it will not be long before the products using these various parts appear and we can learn just how powerful they all are. Source: WCCFTech Back to original news post

  22. According to a new rumor, if you have been waiting for the next GPU series from NVIDIA you will only have a couple months to see them. According to an article from China's Fast Technology publishing platform, mydrivers.com, NVIDIA will show off the GeForce RTX 3000 series at GTC 2020 in March. The first two products announced will by the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 and these will be based on the GA103 and GA104 dies respectively, according to the rumor. The GA103 in the RTX 3080 will supposedly pack 3480 stream processors, 60 stream multiprocessors, and have 10 GB or 20 GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 320 bit bus. The RTX 3070 would instead have just 3072 stream processors, 48 stream multiprocessors, and 8 or 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 256 bit bus. If this rumor is accurate, then as powerful as these two cards appear, there could still be the GA102 die above them, much like the TU102 in the RTX 2080 Ti. March is not that far away, so it will not be long before we discover if this information is correct. Source: The FPS Review Back to original news post

  24. It seems this is the time to announce game delays as Dying Light 2 joins Marvel's Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077 with their recently delays announced last week. Unfortunately the message from developer Techland's CEO Pawel Marchewka does not provide a new release target, only stating that though the initial aim was for a Spring 2020 release, more development time is needed "to fulfill our vision." We can expect more details to be shared in the coming months, but hopefully it will not be too long before some information is shared. The original Dying Light released in 2015 and was well received, enough so that its community continues to receive content for it, so its sequel definitely has a high standard to achieve.
