  1. Hello everyone, I am looking for a blu-ray drive sled for pretty much anything, but the ps3 ones seem to be the most common... The part is available on eBay, but i thought i'd just check to see if anyone here has it also. http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-New-SONY-Play...1QQcmdZViewItem also, if anyone has replaced their old "sled" with a new one because of any of the problems they have had with it, I would be interested in a broken one also. this is not to go into a ps3, and as such I do not need a working part. as long as it has not been completely fried. The "New In Box" ones on eBay are available for $80 + $10 shipping, I am willing to offer a reasonable amount for a used one or a not in box one, but not that much. (just to give a perspective on them) I can't think of anything I have to trade, but if i think of something, I will post it here.
  2. wow, fairly old list eh? would you please change the link under "aliencam" to http://blog.aliencam.net ? and "aliencam" is not capitalized. (not to nit-pick, but while you're at it if you could fix that please lol) gracias.
  3. lol yeah that eye guy was pretty stupid. I actually did a lot of stuff for physics with the lasers, other than physics experiments, and just being the coolest things in the world, there isn't much use for them. like people that collect weapons, what can you do other than shoot targets or animals (or people ) or with knives and swords, all you can really do with those is look at them and swing them around and hit watermelons. I also have a photo gallery of all my laser pictures... http://www.aliencam.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=17 theres only 63 pictures in that gallery, but i have a TON more. but the ability to light a match at 110 meters (i've only done 80 meters so far, i'm looking for a bigger lens, all i have is a 6cm diameter lens) with a red llight is the coolest thing in the world for me. and i love the photography and ability to see the beam easily in a fully lit room. it's like a lightsaber, only real. and actually i've used the laser to cauterize a wound before. stings like a mother but is better than bleeding to death. and i know i wasn't wearing goggles in the "16 paces match light" video, i'm sorry the goggles i have right now are too strong, you can't see the dot AT ALL with them on. everything 650nm (red) is totally washed out with the red protection goggles I have, so i never would have been able to find the dot but i always wear the goggles when i'm moving the lasers around at all. and i have enough goggles for anyone around also, so they can help/watch. what did everyone think of the videos?? lame or pretty cool???
  4. heyyyy bigred is still around!!! what's up??? yeah i'll check some smaller shops. and about the $800, i'm going to college next year so im not exactly rolling in the cash...
  5. oh wow... i think i'll shop around then yeah i don't really have $800 anyway...
  6. yeah i'll look for one... thanks, i just figured the chains would have more... the discount tire guy looked through his computer for an hour to determine they didn't have any... do you think itd be less than $188/ tire??? i don't know if that is very expensive or what, since widewhitewalltires.com is kind of a collector's site...
  7. my tire sizes are FR P225\60R16 RR P225\60R16 and none of the local dealers (discount tire, walmart) can order them for me (strange, yes) all they have are tires with a thin white stripe. I actually DID find some on widewhitewalltires.com for $188 ea. they weren't there when i checked like 6 months ago thanks.
  8. i checked that site, they don't have the right size... none of the places I fould on google had the right size.
  9. even a quick reflection from anything above 15mW could give you permanant eye damage. i'd say anything above 55mW in the eyes would instantly damage your eyes permanently. don't forget to use my referral code if you buy! and there isn't a regular phoenix anymore, they switched to two models of green lasers. one of them has a thicker beam, but stays better quality for a longer distance (executive) , the other model (Evolution) is focused and will burn things without a lens, but is not good at all with distance burns. the red pulsar that i use in my videos is more like the executive model. even at close it can't burn anything without a lens because of the beam diameter , but you can burn a match at 100 meters if you do use a lens. heres a story about a guy and a quick blast form a 15mW laser into the eyes. http://www.milankarakas.org/pub/Eye_injury/Eye_injury.html just get the goggles, you'll be happier. in fact, i'd get two so you can show your friends burning, and so you can use a video camera to record the stuff. (i have experimented with taping with the camera wearing the goggles, havne't done anything cool yet though.)
  10. Hello everyone. I have a Buick LeSabre Custom from 2000 and i'm looking to get the old style turbine tires with a huge whitewall... is there any way i can get these at an at all affordable price?? maybe not even turbine style wheels, but at least tires with a large whitewall... i'll get the size tomorrow, but its a y2000 buick lesabre custom... i don't even know how much new wheels&tires cost... so yeah. i'm also looking at getting a sunroof and a HUD installed...
  11. hmm... snow... well i live in anthem (phoenix) arizona... and i think it might have snowed here once... maybe. probably not... but last week was 83 degrees, so i had to stop wearing my gloves everywhere... w00t for arizona!!
  12. Hey everyone, I had said that I had gotten into lasers while I was away, and i guess I never posted any videos of some of the stuff i've done... so here are a few videos, some of them are with my new 125mW red Pulsar from Wicked Lasers, but most are of my 55mW green CNI laser from Wicked Lasers. Pretty soon I will have a bunch of videos of my 125mW green Evo from Wicked Lasers also, but the one i had was broken, so i'm RMAing it right now. if anyone wants to buy a wicked laser my referral link gets you 5% off any purchase, but think twice before ordering, as green or red protection goggles (cheapest price anywhere is on wicked lasers) ARE REQUIRED with any of these lasers, otherwise you WILL go blind, and I am not kidding about that. so when you think about cost, automatically add $50 for goggles, no questions. my referral link (your 5% discount code): http://www.wickedlasers.com/index.php?refer=5902 also you may want to think twice about ordering these if you are in the USA or in the UK, as the legal FCC limit in the USA (without a 5-point safety system) is 5mW, and the legal limit in the UK is 1mW. but thats not legality, thats just FCC regulations. anyway, if anyone has any questions, head to the forums at http://www.lasercommunity.com or PM or ask me here. anyway, down to the awesomeness. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/439279/burni...flated_balloon/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/439270/smoki...r_with_a_laser/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/439041/125mw...alloon_deflate/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/438996/pulsa...mw_match_light/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/388520/6_match_light/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/382751/laser...able_batteries/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/381682/laser_skypointing/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/381637/night_match_light/ http://www.metacafe.com/watch/381622/laser_match_light/ more to come soon.
  13. lol i love all of those videos i want to buy one of those blenders just to own stuff
  14. I have the logitech bluetooth mx desktop, and i love all the features it has, except the logitech drivers are extremely bloated and sllow down the system considerably... I'm just looking for the media button s functionality, play, pause, stop, buttons for iTunes... its on both the numpad and on the keyboard... also, the numpad has the capability to display incoming instant messages, if anyone knows how to get any drivers to display trillian pro messages, then I would gladly use the more bloated original drivers, however they only show for AOL instant messenger. which i refuse to install. the OS in question is XP-Pro
  15. i carry my leatherman wave at all times. which has locking knives. pretty dangerous tool . but my laser is more dangerous than that. i'm getting a balisong (butterfly knife) but they're illegal to carry until you're 21, so i won't be able to carry it for a few years. and i'll have to have a concealed weapons license.
  16. Well i was looking at the member numbers, and i am number 600 something, i believe i joined right before OCC was mentioned on The Screen Savers... and this is supported because in the time after i joined there was a sudden surge of members... so yeah just wondering. how many members joined because of that broadcast??? (i thought i remembered a topic about this in like 03 or something, but search yielded nothing.)
  17. if you want to set it as a primay for windows, i assume you're looking for faster OS loading time? it won't be any different from your raptors... well it will, but as everyone has said so far it would be such a minuscule difference that you would never notice it. in short; is it possible? yes. is is feasible? no. waste of money and won't really do anything.
  18. i wouldn't use a cathode in anything that would get jostled, they break and get messed up...
  19. hm okay just yum get and the package names? alright. should i move all the files to the firefox directory in root? i don't know where it is rightnow, but i can find it... and this is after i installed gcc with $ yum install gcc it still gave me those... maybe i'll try it again to make sure it got everything. or just dl the RPM from the GNU project site.
  20. still no good... everything does the same thing. its missing a bunch of libraries still... and those files are not in the firefox .tar.gz either (i explored the archive without extracting it) i also re-downloaded it... where could i get these libraries? [[email protected] ~]$ tar -xzf '/home/student/firefox-' [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/firefox-bin' /home/student/firefox/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/updater' /home/student/firefox/updater: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/run-mozilla.sh' run-mozilla.sh: Cannot execute . [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/mozilla-xremote-client' /home/student/firefox/mozilla-xremote-client: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/updater' /home/student/firefox/updater: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/firefox' /home/student/firefox/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ so i'm missing: libstdc++.so.5 and libmozjs.so where do i get these??? and run-mozilla.sh won't execute, even though i checked the properties and it says it is executable..
  21. oh jeez, i didn't even have GCC on this machine... but i installed it and now its gcc --version gcc (GCC) 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-51) wheni tried to execute run-mizilla.sh, i got ./firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory so i tried yum install liibmozjs.so and got this: [[email protected] firefox]# yum install libmozjs.so Loading "installonlyn" plugin Setting up Install Process Setting up repositories Reading repository metadata in from local files Parsing package install arguments Nothing to do so i guess its already there... i'm in root because i'm trying to get the LabPro to work... maybe i should go back the the account... but yeah anyway, it still won't execute anything... i don't know why. i tried quitting out of forefox and then doing it also, still says version 1.5
  22. alright i'll try that tomorrow when i get to school... my GCC version should be 4.1.1 since its a brand new install, and i ran the package update and yum update three times just to make sure... is 4.1.1 what it should be??? and why would changing the directory make a difference? since i'm not typing the filenames, i'm just dragging them into the console, so theres no errors... would the single quotes at the beginning and end of each filename make a difference??? also, i checked all the files and they are executable when i go to properties... so i really don't know what's up...
  23. [email protected] ~]$ ./run '/home/student/firefox/run-mozilla.sh' bash: ./run: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/run-mozilla.sh' run-mozilla.sh: Cannot execute . [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/mozilla-xremote-client' /home/student/firefox/mozilla-xremote-client: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ ./run '/home/student/firefox/mozilla-xremote-client' bash: ./run: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/firefox-bin' /home/student/firefox/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libmozjs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ ./run '/home/student/firefox/firefox-bin' bash: ./run: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ '/home/student/firefox/firefox' /home/student/firefox/firefox-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [[email protected] ~]$ [[email protected] ~]$
