  1. Getting an update for you Great! Thank you very much.
  2. Nothing yet on my end either. Can't wait for it to arrive. Did anyone else get tracking info?
  3. Thank you so much to OCC once again! I have a very old and dusty video card holding me back. It's soon to be replaced with something much more current. The most exciting part of this contest is the fact it's annual! I'd love to see some build projects on the main page this year (ex. HTPC, media servers, watercooling, VR rig).
  4. Is each hard drive a prize or will the 4 be a lot prize?
  5. I was recently the victim of Cogeco cable and their usage based billing. I would really appreciate it if you could go take a look at the forum and leave a comment. If you could run the story on the front page too it would be much appreciated. It has been sent out to various media outlets and should even be on slashdot shortly. The more exposure, the better the situation for me....and my pocket. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r26817647-Burloak-Usage-Based-Billing-Nightmare (forum) http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Cogeco-User-Socked-With-Thousands-in-Overages-118090 (their front page story) Thank you in advance guys! Help out here if you can as well. http://slashdot.org/submission/1923027/cogeco-user-socked-with-thousands-in-overages#comments
  6. CPU: Intel Core i7-920 MOBO: Intel DX58SO RAM: Corsair Vengeance 6GB 3X2GB 1600 HDD: Western Digital Black 1TB SSD: Intel X25-M 80GB GFX: XFX 5850 PSU: XFX Pro 750 Watt CASE: CoolerMaster 690 II Advanced I was planning on swapping out my main power supply and using the old (TX650) in my new home server build. I'm just waiting on the fusion boards to become available. The idea is to start with 10TB and expand as the bluray collection gets bigger. Big thanks to XFX for doing this! Has recently been the only video cards I'll put in any system. I hope I get to try a power supply soon.
  7. Didn't even realize I won! I had just assumed I didn't because I didn't get a call or email saying I did. Got a package from an unknown in BC and it contained Noctua NH-D14 It took me a while to clue in. Thank you soooo much!
  8. Apparently the "j" models are notorious for their slow transfer speeds (10mb/s if you're lucky). Build an unRaid or FreeNAS box with an old pc. Remember gigabit speeds are only theoretical...real world performance is slightly different. Between 40-65MB/s is pretty good. Most disks are limited to sequential writes of no more than 50 to 60MBs.
  9. I've decided to go ahead and build a new system because the new Big Deal with Intel Retail Edge. I think I've settled on the following: Intel DX58SO (dirt cheap bundle) Intel Core i7 920 (dirt cheap bundle) WD Caviar Black 1TB (already have) CoolerMaster CM690 XFX Radeon HD 4890 XT Corsair TX650W Corsair XMS3 Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 6GB DDR3 3X2GB Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme 1366RT Samsung SH-S223Q/BEBS 22X DVD+-RW Are there any other better options for the same amount that I may be overlooking. Everything but the GPU I'll be getting on sale. I will also be swapping out the fans with something a bit quieter.
  10. If you are part of the Intel Retail Edge they've been raffling one of each month for the past 4 months.
  11. I thought the AVIVO tool would help rip dvds. So I'm still stuck using the slow DVDFab.
  12. I have my 4870 hooked up using the HDMI adapter to my Denon amp to my Samsung. Run over to the avsforum under the HTPC forum you should find EDID workarounds if you get stuck.
