  1. You could download an ip scanner and run it.
  2. If the sibling is a Mitsubishi I'd say it's a Ford product... if it was dropped a few years back, I'm guessing Mercury of some kind. Just havent figured out what they produced for those five years. Well maybe not, I thought they dropped Mercury... I guess not.
  3. How is that bad? Are you paying for the 12 meg service and only getting that? If you're only paying for the 6 meg and that is what you are getting, I'd say you're doing pretty good. I pay for the 6 meg and most of the time only get 4 or 5... I'm not at home right now or I would check it. I do have to agree that most of the time they do kind of suck though, the service is way over priced.
  4. The first thing I do in those situations is burn a new copy of my Windows disk. Most of the time the new copy will get me through the install.
  5. Thanks guys. I was looking at that same case last night too, seems to be a good price and descent size. I kind of wish I had got a smaller motherboard back when I built the system so I could go micro atx now.
  6. I'm needing to rebuild an old P4 system in as small of a case as I can get that will hold a full size motherboard. Heat isn't really an issue, I just need it in a case that can fit on a desk without taking up the whole desk.
  7. These would probably work a little better for you. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812189119
  8. To play them? No. It would be way to slow.
  9. You have to forward a couple of ports in your router setup. I believe it would be 80 and 3389. Sorry, don't know of any books right off hand.
  10. Anyone have a formatter board that actually works for a 2015? I suppose if the price is right I would even take one without the network adapter.
  11. A guy rolls through a stop sign and gets pulled over. Officer says, "I'm going to have to give you a ticket, you didn't stop at that stop sign." The guy says, "yeah, but I slowed down." Officer asks him to get out of his car and he starts beating him senseless with his club and says, "Now, would you like me to slow down, or stop?"
  12. Hasn't anyone else had any problems with these updates? Anyone???
  13. Has anyone else had trouble with internet explorer 8 not working? Well, I have and figured I could live without it but now I install the Vista sp2 update and internet explorer 7 won't load web pages and my remote desktop won't work. Anyone know what's going on here? I just installed these updates on 3 other computers and they all work fine.
  14. I'll have to check on the simple file sharing... I think it is. All of these files that he wants to have access to are in the users documents folder that have passwords on thier accounts and I think they made thier files private also. I'm really having my doubts this is going to work like they are hoping without removing all the passwords.
  15. Been a member for awhile but never really had a question I couldn't find an answer to until now so I thought I would try here. I was working on a couple computers in a local daycare here and I have a problem accessing files on the main machine. It has XP home with several user accounts that each have a password on them. The other machine has XP pro and is needing to access some files in those user accounts document folders but XP doesn't seem to just pop up and ask for a user name and password to access them with like Vista does, it just pops up and says access denied. The computer that has xp pro on it only has one user on it that needs to access several files on the machine with xp home on it and this: http://www.daniweb.com/forums/thread35420.html is all I have come up with but I have my doubts that this is the answer. Hope someone out there can help, thanks in advance.
