What OS does your phone use?

Two Android phone's here and one generic one on an old Samsung Eternity.

    Laptop crashing out of nowhere

It kind of sounds like a heat issue with those temps. I would make sure the heat sink is clean, if it is get that thing tore down and replace the thermal compound.

The Official 'i Just Bought...' Thread

Not exactly purchased within the last few days, but it was this summer at least. The '04 RAM 1500 and the '07 Wildwood 5th wheel behind it. Yeah, so much for that savings account.
  4. Yeah, umm, can't really recomend the ECS stuff. I've has a couple motherboards from them over the years and they weren't the most reliable things out there.

Best Deals you have ever Bought/Seen

Just got a 2007 33' Wilderness 5th wheel camper and about $1000 worth of extra stuff for $7500. High book value is $15000. Seems like a good deal to me...

PC running slow all of a sudden ?

Sounds like a hard drive might be going bad....

    Your first car.

Do I sense a little bit of sarcasm there? There's nothing wrong with a Cavalier if it's done right... Not my first car, but it's in my driveway now. As for my first, it was an '88 S-10 with a worthless little 2.5 4 banger in it. It was quite a turd, good thing it was a 5 speed.

    Should I Fix It?

I've had the same rattle in my '97 Cavalier Z24 for the 10+ years I've had it and it hasn't got any worse. It's the same bushings in the strut mounts your mechanic told you about.

Who has been the greatest frontman ever?

Yeah, he's on there but they don't even consider the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar. What kind of poll is that????
  11. Anybody else see this? Was it one of the greatest gestures ever or was the kid kind of an idiot? Was the ring even real? Personally, I think the kids sure got a big heart but then again as you read into the article and then read some of the comments it kind of makes him out to be an idiot. Duh... forgot the link
  12. It kind of seems the kid has been raised right, sort of.... Just hasn't learned much about money management.
  13. Have to agree with this... sounds like you need to try to clone that thing to a new drive if it's not to late.

    New Laptop

Out of all of those, the Dell would be the easiest one to fix if anything dies after the warranty has expired. The others on your list can be a little hard to find motherboards for. It looks kind of like the Thinkpad might be the best option for the game you want to play. Yeah, that Compal... forget finding a board for that thing......

I'm about to do something crazy...

I have the 128 gb version of that drive as my OS drive in my laptop and it's pretty awesome even though I can't take advantage of the sata III.

Hmm, really couldn't have said it better myself...

    A weird network issue.

Have you tried to assign an ip to it to see if it connects without screwing with it? Maybe even try another network adapter?

    Major predicament...

Just turn off DHCP on the Linksys. It's really not hard to do, I just completely suck at trying to tell someone how to do something... If only I lived a little closer to you...

    Major predicament...

You can't have a static ip in there unless assigned by your ISP... get that 192.168.1.200 address out and make that dynamic. I'm not really sure how the setup on that netgear is but all you should have to do is hook it up to your router and configure it as an access point/bridge and then unhook it and take it to a halfway point in the house and it will boost your signal from the router.

    broadcom wireless driver install problem

Those dv6000's seem to have a bad rep for the motherboards going bad.I've seen them die all at once and them I've seen them die off slowly with either the sound not working or like in you situation, that slot that the wifi card is in might have died on you. I would try another card in the slot if I were you just to see if that board might be dieing on you.

    psu dead maybe?

I suppose it could be a mb issue, but with everything else kicking onthe way you say it is, what do you think the chances are you fried a cpu?

Need help deciding to wait on netbook or not

Honestly, my netbook sits in the case, I have a 15" HP I carry when I need something and the big ole' 17" for sitting on the couch. The netbook was a cool idea when I was working in a doctors office in close quarters but since I've moved on, it just sits until we go on trips. Netbooks have really become obsolete with the amount and the quality of some of the smart phones that are coming out.

    [WTS}IBM Thinkpad 365XD

No collectors out there of old useless crap?

    [WTS}IBM Thinkpad 365XD

IBM Thinkpad 365XD with owners manual, Windows 95 book and several other paper work including the original sales reciept for over $2000. It does have Windows 95 installed, I'm not sure what other stuff is installed as I just don't have time to mess with it. It comes with an external floppy drive, original ac adapter and the case in the picture. The battery actually does hold some charge, I was able to boot it up and check it out then shut it down while on battery power, As I said before, it boots up and seems to be fine, I just don't have the time to get all of the specs, I'm just thrilled it works as good as it does for as old as it is. All sales are final, as-is, no returns. I think this would make a good addition for any collector of vintage computers. I'm gonna say $80 o.b.o. because I really need to charge like $20 shipping on this big, heavy, beast.
