  1. I find it funny that so far most people agree that this post will be resurrected in 2014.
  2. By other I mean "whatever is cheap" but within reason... I don't get 667MHz or 6 CAS latency stuff.
  3. Yep those are real bugs alright. As to the other issues I don't know... it could be a number of things. I would start by trying to re-install SP3 if you haven't already if not a re-format as stated above. From there on out I wouldn't know where to go , but I bet not getting something installed right could cause its own share of problems. Best of luck. :thumbs-up:
  4. Dead Confederate- Wrecking Ball :headbang:
  5. About a year and a half ago I bought my first computer in a long while (last one I had was either a Mac Quadra or some PC with a 133MHz proc I forget) a C2D iMac. Yeah I know I went a long time without any comp, but I used my Dad's whenever I needed to, which wasn't very often. Then 6 months ago I decided to build the rig I'm using now. It was a good experience for me and it got me out of the abstraction bubble of Macs. I recon that within another year I will build something new. I'm unsure as to whether it will be Intel or AMD this time because I'm still waiting to see what AMD's response to the I7 will be.
  6. I'd just act natural and don't present yourself for what you are not. Be honest with yourself on what your qualifications for the job would be and stick to that. If they try and ask personal questions don't get defensive just keep it professional, vague and truthful, but not overly so. Ask yourself this question before hand and keep the answer in mind: If you were a pair of shoes what kind would you be and why? I know it sounds a bit odd, but it always helped to keep me focused during an interview and allowed me to show my true self . Good luck Queenz! :thumbs-up:
  7. Thanks for all the replies! I'm glad I'm not the only one getting jacked around, but it still irks me to see it come so close then have it fly away. When will they learn that they are wasting so much time, gas and, ultimately, money? Oh well it was only a soldering iron tip, which I figured out that I could have made at work today for free . Guess I'll just have to make my own from now on and save some dough.
  8. Yeah I went to check the tracking on a package I was expecting and um... FAIL! It went from California to Ohio and I live in California. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot USPS!!? Anyway thought I'd share my frustration and see if anyone else has had a similar problem before.
  9. Created by The Car Connection "> 82% I wasn't too surprised since I really don't speed (at least not technically because I drive 5 mph slower than the average 80) and obey all the laws etc.
  10. Looks good I can't wait! I'll enter just so long as I don't win the poo, but snowman poo wouldn't be so bad.
  11. Lets face it WoW will run on anything newer than a Comodore 64. That being said I don't understand why people who play it upgrade the snot out of their comp to try and get it to run better or, heaven forbid, look better. It was programed the way it was so that they can spread the addiction to anyone with an internet connected computer. I still don't get why it takes up 9GB of HDD space though. Now honestly back to the subject at hand. How many games really support multi-core processing? And by that I mean that there is a substantial difference in game performance not just 4 more FPS on average.
  12. World of Warcraft, which is also the only game that has quad SLI support. jk roflmfao
  13. Looks like I too follow the crowd with my Logitech G5.
  14. No kidding. The thing is I haven't had the time to play anything since I've been taking 4 classes this semester, well, until this last weekend . I played Fallout 3 like 6-8 hours a day and blew off my homework (which wasn't very much anyway) because I felt I needed some time to myself. -_-
  15. Well I would count the beeps and look for what that means in your mobo users manual. What is the spec and size of the other stick of mem anyhow? If they are really far apart it might not work right at all. The only other thing I can think of would be that the ram was faulty, perhaps you could try the stick out in another computer to see if it really works or not. As for making sure the ram is seated properly, the only time that has been a problem for me is on my iMac, but I just wiggled it a bit and it fired right up. Good luck and keep us updated. ^_^
  16. Yeah I realized I had a problem when I played for over 48 hours straight one time, but I did take a few smoke and nom breaks. It took 3 more weeks before I cut back and by then I was on private servers anyways (how much lower can you get than that?) and I'd done most of everything by then. Now I seldom play any games for more than a few hours (I no longer play WoW) and it usually ends up being a half hour here or there in between class assignments. I still think that kid is weak, when I was younger than him I was staying up for days beating the likes of Bonk's Adventure and Keith Courage in Alpha Zones. B:)

    Hello

    Welcome to OCC! :thumbs-up:
  18. The NB running hot is typical ASUS for you. I still had a little too much heat even after I lapped my NB HS and put on AS5 (lolz I know its overkill, but it was the only way for me to stay stable @ 4GHz). This board looks good I might look at getting one if I go I7 in the next few months, but I wonder what would fit for a chipset cooler . I'd hate to have to make another custom one even though making the one for my P5K SE was fun. ^_^
  19. All not true for me. I have Vista Basic OEM version. I have re-installed 4 or 5 times on 2 different motherboards (first board needed to be RMA'd) and 2 different HDDs (also RMA). I never needed to call to get it re-activated and there were no problems with the mobo or hdd not being recognized or accepted. If I were you I'd just get basic 64 and save a ton of cash to spend on the best ddr3 mem you can find and a good sized SSD. Good luck. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16832116488 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145222 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231221
  20. Fallout 3 is a win for me even with the few bugs I have run into so far and I'm looking forward to buying Left4Dead as I really enjoyed playing the demo. :thumbs-up:
  21. I think I'm gonna be sick.
  22. Updating the BIOS isn't mandatory unless there is a compatibility issue with your CPU, RAM or other components or you just feel like updating it. Either way the latest one will be all you need to use.
  23. I bought mine through Steam and even then I had issues. I had to un-install delete everything and re-download and install again before I could play it. I then had problems with it lagging when I pulled up the VSAT and an occasional crash. The final solution was to get rid of punkbustrer on my computer, which I still have no idea how it got on in the first place. The only problem I have now is that the game freaks out on Ultra settings so I have to run it on high instead (it was running fine on Ultra until I noticed the punkbuster induced lag). Hopes this helps give some insight or alleviation to your troubles friend if not head over to the Fallout 3 wiki its chock full of know bugs and a few fixes as well. :thumbs-up:
  24. Here! here! I wholeheartedly agree that he smoketh the cracketh! I also wonder if someone put him up to this mischief... or is he that deranged? 4.7GHz easy ROFLMFAO 5GHz ROFLCOPTER NUB!
  25. Well my experience has been that a faster FSB and ram make a computer run faster more so than OC'ing the proc alone. And it helps keep the temps down.
