  1. I wonder what my pulse was when I first played Fear haha

I can try to find out for myself. Haven't played the FEAR games yet, but I do have them. Need to check on licensing before I do anything though.

You Must Play The Fear Set !!

...you won't be able to stop, even when scared shitless...like Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, or GOT...!!

  2. Today Frank takes a look at the Intel 8th Generation Core i7 8700K & Core i5 8400 processors.

See how the new Coffeelake parts stack up in the tests in the review below!

    the day that intel comes with the revised 2011 v3,  I7 16 or 18 core, Broadwell-E  in 12nm with everything ... that's what !

...you know what i'm talkin' about...

another fantastic review ccokeman ! ,...thank you !!

  3. Did you look at opening them up and replacing the speaker itself? I know that was a big thing with the Klipsh 5.1 setup I had.

since you brought it up Frank, i just checked it out, and it looks like the only way to get inside is to demolish something,...it's possible that i will be able to break it apart and save the components and use them to build a DIY speaker system, but this main is pretty much a solid laminated piece, but i will take your suggestion under advisement.

  4.

Seem to be a lot of options but I wish I could find a replacement for my Klipsh 5.1 setup.  I think I will just pick up a powered sub and connect the speakers to my old 7.1 surround sound amp  that  lost the capability to be remotely controlled.

Logitech is one of the main brands I hear about for PC speakers, so I guess you are good. Kind of makes me want to setup my old Logitech 5.1 speakers, but i'll need to reinstall my Sound Blaster Z, hehe. Been using a Razer Headset for a year now, so. Anyhow good luck with your new toy and let us know how it sounds.

yes and yes, seems like getting the sound right is very subjective ...individual preferences matter and money,...i looked hard at the clear klipish setup and the bose companion, but the dollars,...trust though, if these don't sound right they will be going to the wifes office !

Honey these dont sound right to me. You need new speakers so I can get something that sounds right to me!  Sadly I have used that tactic before.

    SO how do they sound?

    imma find out tomorrow,...still in shipment  ..) ;

...send me the review format and i'll write 'em up...

  5. moore's law makes it hard to plunk down a couple grand for the fastest most wonderful hardware the world has ever seen, only to have it outclassed and de-rated in a couple of years, and fallen by the wayside,...since AMD is already programming a move to 12nm, and the inevitable growth and expansion of the die, then it seems likely that intel must have at least something similar in the works,...it makes more sense to me (as a mediocre gamer/hack) to follow the chipset and platform, buy a little bit lower cpu in the moment, and put the left over $$ away to use for the next most fastest mass of 3D tri-gates transistors ever melded into silicon in that chipset...

i will likely make a move later this year or early next year, but haven't decided on AMD or Intel but i'm watching and listening closely now and they have my attention...let's see where it goes ...

  7. That i9-7980XE is a beast,.. der8auer managed to break a few records with it bumped up to 1.55V. https://www.pcper.com/news/Processors/Intel-Core-i9-7980XE-Pushed-61-GHz-All-Cores-Using-Liquid-Nitrogen

Pure sickness!  The bottom line is even under LN2 it is a temperature limited chip LOL!

yes well, 6.1ghz will be out of my league for years to come. And like the one poster said "Cute stunt, but I don't see it making me more likely to buy one of these. Then again, nothing short of a tragic brain injury would do that.".....my tragic brain injury will come when i get the credit card bill... hahaha !

  8. yes, i saw something along these lines last week while searching out some future stock investment ideas, but what i saw didn't have much in the way of hardware changes or time frames...but the wave of the future for sure...

  9. i guess i'm late to the game again but i was just doing some comparison shopping on the newegg and i see that the 8 core 1900x is the only one listed, that is equipped with the "virtualization technology", and i'm asking myself why...

..seems like kind of a waste to create a new socket, package, and platform, and not include all of the bells and whistles...or maybe it's just a typo ?

is there some reason why the two big brothers are not given the virtualization ??

  10. welp, that wasn't a real popular socket, kind of a dead end, but i did put together a machine on a gigabyte p55-ud5 ...only thing is the sheila is still using it for her main office machine and daily web browser (shrug)...it's still up and running and she would kill me if i changed anything,...she won't even let me put win 10 on it,....crazy woman likes her win 8.1,...but there are a few 1156 mobos out there in the world...
