  1. I have an OP1000. I remember someone recently asking me why I would ever need it.
  2. This is my 3rd MB in a very short time frame. If I have to RMA a 4th, it's time to move on. I feel like I've given DFI more than a fair opportunity to show me some reliability.
  3. I haven't had a working X1950 for some time. I've got the master card coming back from Newegg via RMA. The slave card needs to go back to the manufacturer because it wasn't bought through Newegg.
  4. Let me run this by you. I was thinking of doing a Swiftech H20-220 APEX ULTRA, but after some thought I would order the parts separately & change a couple of items. My swaps would be for the larger 3 fan radiator, & for the TEC water-block. Would this be a decent kit?

  6. Which one of these set-ups is more efficient for a maximum overclock on an AMD 939 CPU? The Swiftech has more coolant volume, & the Freezone has the TEC.
  7. I've been doing some research about this MB even after all of the problems I've had with the CFX-3200-DR/G. For those that have this MB, as rare as it seems to be, what has been your experience with it so far, good & bad?
  8. Here's an idea for the adventuresome. Say you were to remove the base plate & the TEC from the Monsoon II, leaving what would essentially be a medium sized air cooler. What if you were to take a Tuniq Tower, drill 4 holes in the base plate, & mount the TEC & base plate from the Monsoon II? Splice one or two high flow 120mm fans into the controller wiring. What would the results be?
  9. That plan got waylaid by the ULI chip-set. While testing video cards on the motherboard XP couldn't find the hard drives, so I tried to repair XP. At F6 I got the m5288 error message. Seems like the controller died. I tried to spin the brackets on the Noctua, but the heat pipes are in the way. It has to blow vertically on an AMD motherboard.
  10. I've had a serious nightmare with this build. I'm on my 3rd board, the video cards either were DOA or failed, & I can honestly say that I've never had a finished system. The latest thing is now the ULI controller as far as I can tell. I was one of the few who didn't have a problem with it. It has failed on this board if I'm thinking right. I have to do a repair of windows, & at the F6 prompt for the ULI floppy I get the message: "File winxpA64m5288.sys caused an unexpected error (4096) at line 2335 in d:srvrtmbasebootsetupoemdisk.c." I have a DFI Rev.1.0 & an Abit Version 1.02 floppy that give the same error message. I think the controller finally went south.
  11. I'm going to strip the DFI motherboard this week, work on a bracket to get the Noctua aimed in the right direction, & mount the MonsoonII to the X2 4800+. I'm hoping the RMA'd X1950 is back in my hands on Friday so that I can test the DFI rig. I'm looking to hit 3GHz with the MonsoonII. If I can't, then the Noctua goes back on, or I buy a Coolit Freezone.
  12. Looks like it will fit. I can also experiment with moving the PSU to the bottom bay, & moving the dual 80mm fans to the upper bay. I've got another SilenX 120mm fan & a grill if I ever decide to enlarge the blow hole.
  13. How close would the assembly come to the motherboard if I was to mount it where the single 120mm fan is now?
  14. Looks like I made a mistake with the case. Something struck me as odd about how the twin 120mm's were mounted on the rear of your case. It appears we have different versions of the same case. The rear is different & the scroll fan mount is missing:
  15. I see that you moved the PSU to the bottom. I have the OP1000 mounted in the top chamber. Was there an issue with clearance & the bottom ventilation grill on the case floor?
  16. I see we have the same case. Do you have any pictures of the Freezone mounted inside your case? Did you use the included 92mm fan or go for a 120mm?
  17. True. I'm going to transfer the Monsoon over to the X2 4800+ for sh*ts & giggles. Just to see if it will equal Angrys results. The video section of the Abit went bonkers on me today. It disconnected itself from SLI, gave me a message that it would restart itself in 9 seconds, & then did that a 1/2 dozen times in succession. It finally fired up on the remaining card, & then took itself out. I'll see how it feels about working tomorrow. I was waiting on the RMA to return me another X1950, but now that is a changed plan.
  18. How good are they? I was looking at the Thermaltake Thai-Chi with Thermaltakes own water cooling. http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/taich...a/vb5001sna.htm
  19. It's because the Intel mount uses 4 mounting points versus AMD using 2 mounting points. If more thought was put into the 2 pieces that mount the heat sink to the CPU, it could be done.
  20. Did you switch back to the Tuniq Tower? I still have a Noctua NH-U12 attached to the X2 4800+. Is that the equivalent of the Tuniq? I don't like the fact that the fan blows vertically, instead of horizontally on the NH-U12.
