  1. http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy Check this link out. Lots of info about installing drivers.
  2. That worked! I have 3 sticks of PC 3200 the first 2 didn't work but the third stick did. I was able to get into the BIOS and changed CAS to 3.0 with CPC disabled and then I put my PC 4200 memory in and it booted fine.
  3. I tried that. Now It still wont boot and I can't get into BIOS. I'ts stuck at 2 LEDs. I think that means there is a problem detecting the videocard?? The videocard is a brand new BFG 7950 OC.
  4. I switched the psu to the one i had used when i built this computer (I didnt know what else to try) and now it gets to the "lan Party nf4" logo in a few seconds and i have no leds but it wont boot into the os and i cant get into the bios.
  5. I tried that for 12 hours but it didnt work, guess i'll try 24 hours. I'm only getting 2 leds, that means theres a problem with my video card??
  6. When I turn my pc on it takes about ten minute then the "LanParty nf4" logo comes up then it just hangs there. I tried the safe boot jumper but that didnt work.
  7. I have a new Corsair HX 620 psu. The ATX +5.0v reads 4.91 in the BIOS, is this normal? Do I need to set a jumper on the motherboard to bring it up to 5.ov?
  8. I tried replacing the cables but that didnt fix the problem. ok...so I just replaced the master hardrive and it was recognized and I installed windows on it. Now I'm wondering why my old master hardrive and slave drive arent recognized after I upgraded the psu??
  9. I tried that but the hardrive with windows doesnt show up.
  10. Well, My computer was running fine but I bought a corsair 620 watt modular psu because the psu I was using is not recommended. I installed the Corsair psu but when I try to start my computer I get a message "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". I checked the IDE cables and power cables to my harddrive and all 4 power cables are connected. In the BIOS my dvd shows up but not my harddrive.
  11. I loosened up the RAM timings a little and raised the voltage and I was able to install windows. I downloaded the 64 bit version of Ubuntu and plan on doing a server install. I'll use Fluxbox for a windows manager with a cool gtk theme. Thanks to all the mods and their help....NOT! I still need to get a better PSU though before I start overclocking.
  12. I love my Logitech DiNovo Bluetooth Mouse and keyboard
  13. I'm wanting to buy a new PSU. I was thinking about a modular Corsair to reduce clutter but I'm now thinking I want to go with an OCZ gamestream and cut a hole in the motherboard tray to hide unused cables. I was looking at Frozencpu to buy the OCZ gamestream and they have an option to get an OCZ enhanced VGA & HDD power...should i get the Corsair modular or the OCZ gamestream with or without the OCZ enhanced VGA & HDD power. My main conceren next to stability is to have a clutter free case.
