  1. I have found this one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-AMD-OPTERON-170-X2...VQQcmdZViewItem This one is supposed to have E6 stepping, what does that mean? I asked for a full stepping code but the seller said that he cannot tell me. Thanks again
  2. I looked into OCDB and i noticed that 165 and 170 are best OCes as far as i can conclude, but I see that all of them are OCed by raising FSB. Are Opterons multipliers locked or not? Thanks!
  3. Hello everyone! I have: DFI Lanparty nFroce4 SLI-D s939 Motherboatd Mushkin Redline XP4000 2x1GB AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Enermax Liberty 500W I'm looking for a cpu upgrade, thinking about one of the Opterons or FX60, i did my research about FX, but these opterons are still unknown to me. As i can see most of the users on this forum prefer Opteron over FX, so maybe someone can point me i right direction which opteron too look and read for. Maybe someone can even suggest a good stepping for OC. I will be ordering from eBay and most of the sellers can provide stepping. Thank you very much!
  4. Thank you for this information, I feel a bit stupid now! It looks like my research was not thourough enough! Really thanks a lot! Seems like the problem is solved! From your signature I assume you have the same memory? If so could you please tell me the best timings (Tras, Trp, Tcl, Trcd and voltage) for that memory? Thanks again!
  5. Connected all 4 power connectors still the problem exists! I read about Mushkin here: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2416&p=4
  6. I have Enermax Liberty 500W PSU. All 4 power conectors you say? I'll connect it right now!
  7. I'm having some problems with SLI-D motherboard and Mushkin Redline XP4000 2x1GB Ram. The original settings for Mushkin are 3-3-2-8 and I have tried to put them to 2-2-2-6 (3.0V) DDR400, It should work just fine since Mushkin can take it BUT it doesn't work. After turning on the computer instead of power on screen (CPU, RAM, HDD & IDE information) I get Rom checksum error! BIOS date is 2005/03/10 Do I have to flash the BIOS, or something else is the problem? Memory is ok, I used MemTest fo 10 hours and it works with 2-3-2-6 but if I change that second digit to 2 it displays that checksum error! Thank you for your help!
