  1. Well, I've more or less "adopted" a GE Whirlpool Gold Ice Maker from '07. After finding out that new these things retail for $1,700, I'm determined to fix it - long story short I've found that it's demonstrating symptoms of being low on refrigerant. The evaporator "line" gets cold, and it gets frosty at the very end but it's obviously not getting cold enough. I did a little bit of research and some other GE refrigerators/other equipment from that time have already required recharging. Long story short, I'd like to recharge it - but I'm having trouble finding a way to recharge it. I've studied A/C systems and know all about how they work, but it's proving difficult to find the resources to actually learn to do it. I don't need anyone to say "you need a licensed tech"; I know that the parts/taps/gauges that I need can be purchased locally/online. If I can do a simple recharge without having to evacuate the system, I'm pretty sure that I can, it'd be nice to know... The compressor gets warm, but not hot, and the condensing coil doesn't really get warm but is completely clean and the fan is operating. I'm not sure how these things are supposed to "cycle", being the type of icemaker that it is. I believe it has to switch from cold to hot once ice has formed on the cascade tray, to melt the sheet of ice so it will slide onto the slicing tray where it will be cut into cubes. Help me out, OCC!

Will the next one be Xbox Two?
  3. Sad, shocking news. RIP Dale. You will be missed. My condolences to the family
  4. The video is self-explanitory, the the earlier/first comments had a lot of good info and insight. At this point I don't think there's an official website or anything for it yet, a Google search for OUYA brings up the KS page. I've pledged $125 to get the unit plus the extra controller. If a discussion on it is already here, forgive me - search for OUYA brought up no results!

switching mobos without re-installing Win 7

I can confirm this worked with two Z68 boards - only had to reactivate Windows and reinstall Office.

    Windows 8 scrolling reversed?

I can change this in my mousepad settings. You likely have a synaptic touchpad - its under the scrolling settings. I can reverse the directions.

Fireworks MX 2K4 fail at 600DPI

Hmm, what exactly are you trying to add/change/edit in the pictures? Just a regular jpeg? I would try GIMP or a trial version of Photoshop.

    Post Your Pets Thread!

I guess I'll participate This is George, he's about 6 months old now. He's about 4 months in the first picture though
  10. I really wasn't exaggerating the part after I first got it out and was gazing at it in my hands. My jaw was open for a good 30 seconds while I was checking everything out...LOL
  11. A good chance yes. And holy wow 35mmH2O that's crazy. But as far as this force affecting anything, I wouldn't count on it. If the fan is attached to the heatsink it cannot apply a net force on it. Like trying to hoist your own body into the air lol

    WTF. Am I cursed?

The 140mm fan that came on the Thermaltake Frio Advanced was poorly designed and the blades actually stick out too far from the housing and will collide with what it's connected to. Really stupid, not sure if that's your problem but I definitely had to use a couple of washers to space the fan out from the heatsink or else it would bang together.

    Idea for the site

I've been on boards before where if you try to start a thread that contains a lot of common keywords it directs the user to check the search results before posting.

Can you change the boot order from windows?

In other words, no - I don't believe there is a way to change the boot order from windows.

  17. Perhaps if they have the account number and sort code and a lot of other personal information, they may be able to contact paypal and retrieve a new password? They'd have to act really fast though... Reminds me of Fonejacker...lol

  19. I'm moving in less than a month and have to have this stuff gone. Slashing prices further. Entertaining offers. Shipping is USPS Parcel Post Snail Mail. If you want UPS or anything else you'll have to pay extra. Thermaltake Frio Advanced - $45 $35 shipped (~$60 shipped on newegg) Phanteks PH-TC14CS - $70 $60 shipped (barely used) Sapphire HD 7950 FleX Dual-X Edition - $350 shipped USPS Priority US only unless you cover shipping - Canada negotiable, sorry international friends Everything shipped using USPS Parcel Post with Delivery Confirmation (tracking). If you want it shipped a different way I'll only cover $10 of it. Edit 6/28 - Stuff marked ridiculously cheap. Shipping will cost me at least $10 on everything, so some of this stuff will bring me no dough. Please buy these! Cheers

    Looking to get an SSD

I really like my Vertex 3 120GB. Got it from Tiger Direct when prices started falling like crazy, got it for $99 before rebate. I don't think you can go wrong with OCZ; their products are top notch and the focus pretty much all on storage now.

Philosophically, wouldn't that make those NOT a 'mod'? As in 'modification'?

    SLI question

No, it doesn't look like it. It's also mentioned several times in the reviews that it's not meant to be SLI'd and cannot be run in SLI mode, even though there is an SLI port present.
