    boot issues

I tried the long CMOS clear, it had now effect whatsoever... i'm starting to think i might just need a new board or something. Wish i had an external hard drive so i could back everything up and try cleaning my whole system. I'm home on spring break, I founf ym windows xp cd and i'll try a fresh install of it, and i also found my dfi cd. I found the copy of my original ram timings that worked well before when i first built my system so i'll give that a try. I was doing some research... Newegg along with alot of places don't even sell my grpahics card any more... wondering if maybe they recalled it or something. Whoops wondering off topic. Yeah I appreciate everybody's advice thanks alot, but so far it's not looking too promising. I might end up getting a new mobo. Any other comments feel free to let me know, thanks! Also remember The Post Code for when it pauses looks like "8." after about two minutes the post code goes to "C1" and then finishes off the post. Before it gets to "8." the LED displays a series of strange symbols or something I can't make out. Then it displays "8." and pauses.

    boot issues

I boot it up, the VGA fan spins full speed like most computers do when they boot, but then it keeps spinning on full for like 2-3 minutes, finally the post decides to beep and then everything is normal after that. The Post Code for when it pauses looks like "8." after about two minutes the post code goes to "C1" and then finishes off the post. Before it gets to "8." the LED displays a series of strange symbols or something I can't make out. Then it displays "8." and pauses. Any ideas? Please help if you can!

Hello, I was wondering if anybody could help me out. My computer has recently started acting up. Whenever I boot, it takes about 3-5 minutes to get past the POST beep. It seems as if it's checking for something in the DVD-drives, so I unplugged them and it still took forever to pass the POST beep! It's beginning to become frusterating and it's hard to find solutions anywhere! Any ideas???

  9. No, no beep codes either. Turn the PSU on and the stand-by light lights up, nothing else will do anything at all. I checked the Voltages from the PSU with a Voltmeter and it all measured like it should. I tried to start it with the graphics card in the 2nd pci-e slot and it still would not work. It might be like happy_games said, the PSU doesn't work well with this board... well at least I hope it's just the PSU and nothing else... I just would like to try everything possible before I have to pay $22 to ship it back! If anybody has any other ideas, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions at all
  10. I tried switching pci-e slots and it still didn't work. Maybe it is a problem with the PSU, cause when I try to jumpstart it, it doesn't work. It worked yesterday for like 3 second intervals, and this is my second one of the PSU's, the first was a DOA. There could be a connection problem inside the PSU and that might be why only the stand-by light works on the motherboard?
  11. I tried switching the RAM and that didn't work either.... The diagnostic light doesn't light up... There is only the stand-by light...
  12. I only have one graphics card, the crossfire mastercard, eventually I will get a second. Right now it is in the top PCI-E and has been, so that should be fine I think. I tried clearing the CMOS but it didn't work either, just the same result. Keep in mind this is a brand new just put together computer. I don't think it is a problem with the PSU because you can tell it is supplying power to the motherboard because the stand-by light comes on when the PSU is on. hmm...
  13. I am new to the whole computer building thing, but I feel I have enough knowledge to get evrything hooked up correctly. I hooked everything up, it looks spectacular, and at first it wouldn't start. Then I unplugged the main power from the motherboard and jumpstarted the power supply on a small load. At first that didn't work, I then flipped the on/off switch a couple of times and it started to sort of work. I would flip the switch on and it would turn on the fans anf liquid cooling for like 3 seconds. Then shut back off... I did this at least 3-4 times. Ok so after I tested the power supply, and it sort of worked, I plugged the motherboard back in. The computer turned on for about 45 seconds, but no display on the monitor. I put the DFI setup CD in and right when the drawer closed, it shut off again. Now, it hasn't ran since, and that has been about 24 hours, either by jumpstarting or using the motherboard it hasn't worked. Although when I plug in the motherboard and flip the switch on the power supply, the stand-by light in the lower-left corner comes on, but nothing else will work. After a day of constantly trying to figure out what's wrong by rechecking all connections and unplugging periphials one at a time while tunring the powersupply on I got frusterated. I don't know what the problem is, maybe there is a short circuit behind the motherboard or something, i don't know. AHHHHHHH, HELP!!!!! ANY IDEAS????
