  1. I have the 24" Dell 2405FPW and it's awesome. No lag what so ever. BF2, COD2, FEAR, HL2, PREY oh so pretty. The monitor's native resolution is 1920x1200 and it rocks!
  2. Bump Null -- any suggestions so that I can get to a 5/6 divider?
  3. Is it formated? It won't show up in My Computer with your other drives until it is formatted. Go to Start, My Computer, Rt Click on Manage Go to Storage, Disk Mgmt you should see your 320GB drive. Rt click on it and select Format Be prepared to wait awhile!
  4. For those of you that want this stepping. It's available at: http://www.flickerdown.com/index.php?crn=2...ion=show_detail I got mine from eBay, alittle cheaper. They ship USPS. It took 10 days to go 110miles!! I sent an email to this business asking them if they had a CCBBE stepping but did not specify the date code. I got the 0617 and am happy! WOW the price has dropped $25 since I bought mine 2 weeks ago!! If you buy from these guys make sure to follow up with an email stating the exacting stepping you want. http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-Opteron-Dual-Core-...oQQcmdZViewItem

  6. I had to settle for 3/4 also... 5/6 gave SP2004 fails within 15 minutes.
  7. I can confirm that this stepping is awesome. I have reached 24+ hrs stable @ 2.8Ghz, 1.35v I have just started upping the volts to see what I can do...Problem is my office is 80-85 ambient. I either need to replace the stock BT fan with a Silverstone or remove the IHS. At 1.4v 2.9Ghz temps are creeping up to 47 deg C. Right now memory is on a 1/2 divider...I have ran it stable for an hr at 3/4 divider. 5/6 causes a SP2004 error.
  8. Cirrus..I have 2 eVGA 7900GT's. One runs perfect the other has been RMA'd once and now the RMA is bad. If you go over to the eVGA web site forums, you will see the hundreds of posts about people having issues with their 79XX series cards. Something is definately wrong and the rumor is that it's bad DDR memory and Nvidia has a new batch of cards coming that fixes the problem. I am not going to RMA again until I am sure I can get a "fixed" card, no sense wasting my time and eVGA's money cross shipping bad cards. http://www.evga.com/community/messageboard...asp?FORUM_ID=32 What I have done to get around this problem is down clock my memory. I left the core at 500 mhz and put the memory at 600. This seems to have fixed my problems so far although it probably varies from card to card so play with it. BTW - Here are some screengrabs of what I was seeing with my bad 7900GT's. I play Red Orchestra and BF2 mostly. With this recent RMA'd card BF2 would simply freeze, could not alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del...had to reset... Bad Card #1 Artifacts/tearing near the end of 3Dmark06 Deep Freeze http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/8568/img245214gt.jpg Typical grey lines, flashing in games such as RO and BF2 http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/4884/img245016ej.jpg With the stock eVGA cooler. It gets to this point and then the screen goes black! Bad Card #2
  9. I followed the 7900 RMA process on their website. Fax in a form Monday, got approval on Tues and had the card on Wed (today). I have been testing it and am getting artifacts (little black flickering rectangles) during the 3Dmark06 test. I have monitored the temp of this card. No matter which PCIe slot I put it, it's running 10-12 deg hotter than my other 7900GT. I read on the eVGA forum that tech support told someone they will be getting new cards from Nvidia with improved memory. We shall see, I bet I will be RMA'ing this card again.
  10. Thanks Guys! The cooler is wicked cheap $9!!
  11. Stock chipset cooler, no OC'ing, no load!! 47deg seems alittle warm for idle. What do you think?
  12. Brion - I just got my memtest to make it through 1 pass with the assistance of Cafeninejunkie's DRAM settings. Take a look at my thread. Also, this thread has know working DRAM settings for particular mobos with this exact memory, however it hasn't been updated since march so check the last few pages for new entries http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41953
  13. w00t!! Thanks man! That got me through 1 pass completely. How long should I keep this up before I try to reinstall windows? BTW - I could not ind Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - 1 in the DRAM config....where is that?
