  2. my mbm5 doesn't read my gpu temps. it's the only slot that stays 0... how can i read my gpu temps?
  3. i'm surprised there are hardly any dual cores on the ocdb. i was hoping to compare some w/ my results. i think there's like 1 opty 165 on there. goin to try to get mine posted tonight
  4. my load went from like 20 flying square bars to 3 after that btw.
  5. hey i just had the similar experience after i put together my rig. trying disabling literally everything that you don't use or don't have plugged in like unused sata/ide ports, firewire, lan and what not and also try booting to hdd first in boot order. are you using nvidia ide controller?

  7. well looking at your ram i would bet my money that it's your ram holding you back. value rams arn't really for OCing. but you can tryin bumpin that voltage to like 1.5v.
  8. you might be able to pull 2.9 try bumping up the voltage to 1.5v but 2.7 is nothing to complain about i guess
  9. scoobie you got some sweet numbers and temps. your water cooling looks like it's working very well
  10. benny i woudln't worry about the pwmic temps. those are able to handle quite a bit of heat. but cpu 65 at 65 is a lil concerning. i'd be more worried about the cpu than the pwmic. as for me i just started OCing my chip couple of days ago. cpu can hit 3ghz but i think my ram's holding me back also it looks like my core 0 is weaker than core 1. (core 1 hasn't failed a prime yet). so far about 8hr prime stable on 2.9ghz. my temps are 53c on cpu and 61 on pwmic. i'll try to post some ocdb after priming and all the other tests. pretty happy w/ my results so far considering this is my first rig and ocing attempt

  12. if you're moving the card to the bottom slot make sure you set the jumpers to sli mode so it runs at pcie 8x instead of 2x.
  13. it may look confusing on the karajan. i think the karajan has couple of jumpers hooked on the front audio connector. you gotta take those out to connect.
  14. i have a feeling you're gonna hear a lot of pple telling you to wait for conroe unless you're really dying to build a new rig asap with that said all three choices seem pretty good and well researched. i'd go w/ the x1900xt over 7900gt on any system tho. about the raptor it's a very nice hdd but i can't say anything in comparison as i have never used an sataII 3g. well you might want to go dual core to future proof a lil bit. even tho gaming isn't affected at all by dual cores right now but games in the future might implement dual core threading and wat not.
  15. it give more clearance than it looks. i was worried about it before i got it but i'm actually able to install a dimm in the 4th orange slot w/o too much trouble. it doesn't even come close to hindering the pci-e slot either. installation takes 2 screws no mobo removal needed. fits right on the stock frame.
  16. yea 700w could be over kill unless you have sli/crossfire w/ billion fans, hard drives and optical drives. 600w probably more than enough.

  18. anyone have any real solutions for this yet? i just put together my rig it boots up super slow. defragged, services and startup programs(not many to begin with) trimmed. still slow. using sata raptor and nec 3550a dvd burner. nvidia ide driver not installed.

  20. thanks for all the replies guys. i've run test 5 and 8 at least 20 runs each and they passed with flying colors. i do get the posted 2-3-2-5 but as i OC later i'm sure those will get looser. time to move on to the next step!
  21. um i'm pretty new too so i don't know all the answers but you might want to check out the psu threads. i doubt ur older psu's going to be good enough to power ur new dfi board. i don't know why the mobo has all those connectors but i know that you should plugged them all in for stability. and i've heard of pple using 20pin on the 24 but i dun think it works for anyone.
  22. is there a way to run JUST the tests #5 and #8 and loop them to however many? first time using memtest. it's memtest86+ 1.65
  23. yea i would definitely say replace the psu. ultra's are generally known to be not very good to say the least and dfi's are known to be picky so not a good combo there.
  24. now that may is over i tried the coupon code "maxpcjune" and sure enough it works for 5%! you should update it on the first post happy games.
