  1. heh..maybe actually puttin these screamin good clocks to some real world use?? :P Too much fun tinkering...

haha that's what i've been doing finally putting my rig to actual use. after years of using my POS dell, playin cs source and splinter cell looks/runs freaking amazing!!!!

well done timmay on the 3g!

  2. You may want to reenter a MAC address for the Nvidia NIC in the BIOS, and see if that helps.

tried that. i'm afraid it's hardware problem...i guess i'm gonna be stuck using marvell. i've searched the forum about this topic(seems like it happens to the mass) read and tried just about all of em. i don't feel like going through rma hassels unless they both go out on me i guess. o well

this might be a dumb noob question but wat does dual gigabit lan do? i tried searchin but no adequate answer found. i'm guessin it's like hyperthreading lan connections?

  3. finally got some pics off my camera and got my lazy butt to upload them. well it's pretty much stock so nothing too special. hoping to get some casemod done later this summer :) enjoy/comment/critique. (my friends letting me borrow his 1905fp monitor so dual monitor action. SWEET! :) )

No lights just plain ol view:

    Some UV lighting:

  4. it was working fine then suddenly it stopped working. it keeps on stelling me network cable is unplugged. i've isolated all the parts like router and cable. seems to be the network controller that's the problem. i've enabled marvell that seems to be working fine(using internet on that comp right now). any ideas? or did it just crap out on me... :(

  5. Ya gotta make sure you eat enough of the three main food groups:

    1) grease

    2) fat

    3) alcohol

Oh, and no excersize, except for ..

hahaha actually my diet's very weird. i don't eat veggies so basically all i eat are carbs and protein. i can't drink...my body doesn't seem to like it very much. i just have a really good metabolism. i think most girls would kill to have my metabolism ;)

  6. Yea really.. !!

l3lackh0le.. better keep your doors and windows shut because I might try to steal that cpu of yours.. lol.. But its ok if I cant get yours im going after Praz's cpu next.

haha i better board up my windows and bolt up my door! jees sounds like praz wouldn't even care. might as well go for his. ;)

Hey l3lackh0le...don't forget your tool belt and ya gotta sport a "plumbers crack" as well  Drives all the girls crazy!!!!hehehehehehehe!!!!!!

hahaha o man my gf already thinks i'm the biggest geek in the world w/ my comp/oc jibberish. i have a feeling she wouldn't be too thrilled about my power tool projects. btw i'm just a tall and lightweight asian kid so i'm not sure how well i can pull of that "plumber" look.

  7. Hell I didn't cry when I ran up the escalator the wrong way and took 2 chips out of my right knee cap, then sat through Dawn Of the Dead whilst my knee was bleeding then went to A n E at 2 Am and got stitched up by some B!tch with minimal anesthetic and then couldn't walk for a month and had to hobble around for longer... But when my DFI Expert Died... I did

lol that's hilarious. i don't know if i have that kind of love for my hardware yet. although i'd be pretty sad if my cpu blew

on a side note i can't get 3ghz prime stable for my life! 6.5hrs prime stable(you gotta be KIDDING me!) flowerking i hate you haha :D

  8. Got a jig saw? I've been meaning to post some pics in the case mod section. I made a template for use with either a jig saw or dremel (jig saw is easier) for making a blow hole and a mount for a 120mm. I can make whatever size (92mm, 80mm, etc)...

I'll post a link once I get the pics up...

all i got for a tool is a drill set(putting together furnitures)...i just came out of college not too long ago so havn't had much use for tools yet. time to start shopping at home depot and start becoming a man! haha

I got a box of ear plugs by my door when things like that happen . I open the door hand them ear plugs and say call me in the morning. I got work to do  shuts them right up :D

that's awesome molt. too bad i live in an apt i'd have to supply a box of those to my entire unit.

  9. That's the problem on other forums. Everybody is stable at 3.0 and above. Then someone is here asking for help because his processor is the only one that isn't stable. Since TheFlowerKing started the AMD 3GHz Club I've seen a couple of people posting in that thread that are "100% stable" on other forums at 3.0+ but I've yet to see an OCDB entry from them. I think that pretty well sums it up.

That's what GGG is about. You say you can do it, prove it or cry to your mum.

Sig clocks (e-penis) are like RL-penis.. everyone talks it up but when you get into the bedroom with your missus your "stability" is 300MHz lower than you bragged. :shake:

yeah that's almost pathetic...i mean if you don't got it then you don't got it. just like my rig right now i can easily boot up at 3006mhz no problem. i've been workin my arse off to get prime stable on this so i can put up an entry and get on ggg but i dunno i got prime 6.5 hrs so far  haha GRRRRR!!! it's killin me but not ready to give up just yet

::edit:: i did manage to find my max for stock voltage. ocdb entry comin up soon. at least i kno what i'll be running 24/7 at. and i say not too shabby ;) i LOVE my chip!!!

  10. people are generally either too lazy to help others by posting in the OC Database (they always got some excuse like it is SO MUCH WORK to run 8h prime95 while sleeping, then wake up, run the rest of the benches in less than an hour, fill out the template, and post it up...sheesh)

they aren't really as stable as they are bragging about in teh other sections or on other forums.

I see this all the time..."I got 2954mhz out of my X2 4400+!" and yet no OC DB entry...and they give the excuse I put above, but the reality is this one...that it simply won't pass the OC DB requirements at those speeds/settings....but they will pass at 2750Mhz but for some reason that's "seafood" or who knows what it goes against their OC ego apparently etc.

I gave up trying to get you guys to post in the OC DB. Thunda and I dominated the OC DB for a long long time and we did it because it was fun, but we also did it to help you guys get some OC action going, but most of all we did it because we hoped it would spur others to do it (which sorta goes to the whole 'we did it to help you all get some OC action going on).

haha i see...man that's kinda sad i mean when i first ocdb's i thought it was pretty complicated too but i mean beside the prime which is easily done over night it's CAKE! i don't know what pple are complaining about esp w/ all the templates you give us.

  12. When you fire up a dremel at 2AM in the morning and realize your neighbors might actually be asleep...well...you know you've got problems.

We should start an "OC addict support group".

Hi...My name is Mark and I'm an OC addict.....I need help

hahahahaha o man that sounds like too much fun. i imagine many pple will look like this  from excessive OCing.

i really need to get myself a dremel tho and start some case modding. i'm thinkin about a blowhole on top and maybe a couple fans on the window. def need a fan blowing on the pwmic.

  13. yes vc-re is virtually same size as the stock chipset cooler. my 7800gtx fit right over it. but i'm now using the lower slot. if you do so tho you must set the jumpers on the mobo to sli mode so it runs at 8x pcie otherwise your card's going to be running at 2x lol ;)

btw i highly recommend the vc-re it's cheap and works very well. keeps my chipset at 41c full load.

::edit:: i forgot to mention u can find the vc-re installing tutorial vid somewhere on the forum.

  14. Ive actually been running my dual core at 289x9 1:1 with my Ballisitx with stock 1.35vcore... Its really all I need for games and my everyday stuff.. Besides its easier on the cpu when im not beating on it all the time..

    Thats what you say now..

Soon you will get the bug and realize that you want to overclock and tweak more then playing a game.. You'll notice this sudden urge to buy different ram so that you can clock your system again..

Then you start having odd thoughts during the day.. Like when your driving to work you start thinking about tightening your TRC and adding more vdimm.. Next thing you know your spending many sleepless nights trying to get your clocks higher..

But beware.. once you get into this evil cycle its VERY hard to stop.. The people that say drugs are bad have no clue what they are talking about.. Its overclocking, thats the real the problem..

hahaha o man looks like i'm in trouble. i've already started to lose sleep ever since i've been OCing. i start work at 7am and i've been up til at least 1am this week and a half. i'm practically sleeping at work not to mention i probably spend as much time on dfi-street as doing working during work. haha 289mhz 1:1! wowowow yea...i've pretty much been wanting new rams since oc day 1.

  15. Hehe.. I don't like my vid much past 1.5 either. I try to keep it close to stock 24/7 .(Mine runs oks like that)Don't like load temps much over 42-45c either.(55c+ I see errors on most of my rigg's) I'll probably wait till' I got me coolin' ironed out abit better save my processor abt. It seems in I needed 1.6+ for 295X10 1-1 to get into windoors and pass occt 3dm01 S&M ect. that's with the IHS on though.I didn't like that or the load temps. So I didn't prime. It may need more to prime.(Usually does but maybe not)

yea this is just for ggg DEF not for 24/7. i'm gonna bring it back down to 1.375 max for 24/7.

  16. HAHA.. I think its totally overkill but I got a good deal and I wanted to make sure power wasnt a problem.. lol

Like OldGuy said its really up to you..

I would try to stay at or below 1.6v when using good air cooling for 247.. But as long as temps are good you might be able to add a little more to see IF it actually gives you some mhz in return, but I wouldnt leave it that high for 247 use.. To raise it a little more for a DB entry or some benching should be fine..

Ive been really bored with my cpu and im trying to get her to clock higher.. The other night I went up to 1.72vcore (THIS IS NOT SAFE) to see if I could stablize it higher but it was a no go..

This is all TheFlowerKing's fault.. hehe.. im trying to get to ggg now.. lol

Good job on your entry dbilz.. It looks all good..

haha yea i'm pretty much going for 3g purely for an entry and ggg... soon as that's done i'm bring it back down to stock(maybe a lil more) run it around 2.7-2.8.

i'm just doing this for fun since i'm in the oc phase. i need to start playing some games on this thing.
