  1. Just came across this one http://www.shinyhardware.co.uk/products/product.asp/pid=5511 Hopefully it hasn't been mentioned before, Just ordered One for delivery, when they get stock..... Hopefully useful for us peeps in the UK Grzyb
  2. Model Number is 6V080E0 Was running the shipped VA111630 Fimware, but the Drive kept on disappearing about every 7-10days, No Bios detect etc, Like I said Touch wood, It's been OK for the last Couple of weeks.....
  3. Here is the RapidShare Link For the VA111680 Firmware, I have Updated My Maxtor & Fingers crossed so far so good, It's been in over a week and is still seen, although I have put the OS On a different SATA Disk, just in case it disappears again!!!! http://rapidshare.de/files/23092024/VA111680.zip.html
  4. Been on the Two Websites that are highlighted in your Link, Both have no mention of the Evercool on them.... I did see a link posted here by someone, but for the life of me I can't find it!!! Grzyb
  5. Tried a Google Search for the UK & comes up blank, Thought I remember seeing one mentioned here, but can't seem to find the link anymore... NE1 know of a UK Stockist for the above?? Thanks for the heads Up, from anyone Grzyb
  6. So in your opinion, there is no way ATM to check whether a Drive is running SATA 1 or SATA 2 speeds.....?? What about DATA Cabling....Will I need a dedicated SATA 2 Data Cable, rated for the required Transfer i.e 3GB/s, If One can purchase such a Cable, Or are the bundled SATA DATA cables with the SLI-DR MOBO adequate for the required potential Transfer Rates??
  7. Hi All, Just looked at the Specs of the Lanparty NF4 SLI-DR Mobo, I am right in assuming that only the nForce4 Chipset SATA 1-4 will support SATA2 3GB/s speed?? So if I put my Maxtor 6V080E0 on the Silicon SATA 5-8 Controller I will be limited to only 1.5GB/s speed?? The reason that I am asking, is that I am suffering from a "disappearing" drive problem and was advised by Maxtor to try the Silicon Interface Controller...Will I need to move the Jumper from 3GB/s to 1.5GB/s before I connect to the Silicon Controller?? I have also received a Firmware Update from Maxtor for my Drive, to try, I have read somewhere that some peeps recommend a special SATA Data connector rated for 3GB/s transferto be able to run without issues on the nForce4 chipset, or will the SATA connectors bundled with the MOBO suffice?? Is there a proggie that will tell me if I am connected to a SATA2 Hard Drive, HD Tach for instance?? Thanks for any info & help that anyone can give me... Grzyb
  8. Maxtor have Just sent me a Firmware Revision for my SATA 11 80gb Hard Drive Model No: 6V080E0 Firmware Revision VA111680 Have yet to Update it, If NE1 is interested I'll Up it to RapidShare?? Let me know Grzyb
  9. OK Guys, Figured Out The Problem Myself....In The Genie BIOS, The Sil 3114 was configured for Operation as a RAID setup. Once I'd selected Only SATA in the Pull Down Box, all my Drives are now Visible....Machine now working as it should be...
  10. Hi Guys, Hope someone can assist. ATM my setup that I have created works fine, SATA 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 are recognised at Boot-Up... The problem is that when Windows loads, only the SATA Drives connected to SATA 1/2/3/4 are showing up, the other 3 are not. I have checked that the other 3 Drives work by connecting them to SATA 1/2/3 and all work OK....Management Console Doesn't show anything as well, Even Partition Magic v 8.05 draws a Blank..... I don't want any RAID setup etc, as I don't use it...All I want is for the drives to be single drives recognised by Windows.... Is there a BIOS setting that I need to change, Or can SATA 5/6/7/8 on the MOBO only be used as part of a RAID system & not as individaul Drives?? I have data on all the drives mentioned..... TIA for any info.... Grzyb
