Interesting, so the latest bios for this board supports all dual and quad ? what sort of fsb speeds are we seeing with quad cores on this ? Also is there any firm reports on it supporting penryn ? As i know 965 chipset wont, hence why p35 was released, im surprised 975x does, many thanks for feedback

As thread title, iv just had a Gigabyte p35c-ds3r mainboard and it was dire, so iv send it back. I had a DFI board previously and its awesome and want another, however does the DFI LANPARTY UT NF680i LT support penryn 45nm processors ? if so it would be the perfect mainboard. Also how is it with overclocking quad cores? As iv heard some 680 chipsets have trouble with quads, any pointers are greatly appreciated, many thanks CS EDIT: Also ill be using OCZ 4gb (2x2) C5 'vista' ram kit, how does 680 LT handle this ram ? is it ok with it ?

How much better is the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B over an XP-120 ? I have the XP-120 now, and its good yes, but how much better would the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B over it ? Id be using a fan on the heatsink in a P180 case. Iv looked on the net and cannot find any reviews of the Ninja which includes the XP-120 as a comparison, dont suppose anyone knows where I can find one ? lol

Trouble with USB Wake-On-Mouse
combat squirrel replied to tasr's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
Also aside from going into the bios to scheduale a 'wake' time to turn pc on at a desiered time , is there windows software from DFI or something that will allow me to do that without having to always go into the bios ? I do it on a daily basis so windows based 'boot up time' software would be great, annoying having to reboot, go into bios and boot up again, and then shut down Im talking total shutdown and bios boots the PC not standby -
Trouble with USB Wake-On-Mouse

Im annoyed by this as well, my PC is in a loft cupboard, and Id want to wake the pc from my keyboard instead of having to open cupboard and stretch to reach in to turn pc on, iv got around this by taking an ATX switch out of another pc, soldering together 4 lenths of wire and placing the switch next to my keyboard held down with a peice of bluetack, technical ! lol -
NF4 SLI chipset voltage - Is mine to high?
combat squirrel replied to combat squirrel's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
I wonder why my PC isnt stable then unless its that high ? -
Currently at 1.88V 43c load (chipset temp), 57c PWMIX, is this voltage to high ? whats the 'max' volts you should really go on an NF4 SLI chipset ? Its currently under a swifttech water cooling chipset block, hence the fairly low temp considering the Volts. It Has to be this high for my 4200 x2 processor to be stable at 2600mhz. Board is DFI Expert cpu 2.6ghz x2 1.584v bus speed 273.5mhz x 9.5 (this is the only config that gets cpu to 2.6) OCZ ram

Yeah done that, RAM runs upto 210mhz 2-3-2-5 1t fine, no worries, if the CPU is clocked slower it even runs 220mhz at those timings, iv had the ram running really slow (between 180-190mhz) and tried to push the cpu up higher, still no go, it always fails prime, the only 'sweet spot' is what I have now, volts, etc seem to do sfa, im guessing im going to need advanced knowledge of the: 'DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Level 8 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 4 Max Async Latency - 10.0 Nano Seconds DRAM Response Time - Normal Read Preamble Time - 8.0 Nano Seconds IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disabled R/W Queue Bypass - 16x Bypass Max - 04x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(4 Bursts)' Type of settings? Any1 running a similar setup ?

Hey all got a 4200+ dual core on an expert, latest bios, 2GB OCZ 3200 Cas 2-3-2-5 1t ram, wont run higher than 2530mhz stable, even 2580mhz crashes out running dual prime, iv tried every single various settings under the sun, + I carnt seem to get my chipset higher than ~ 235mhz stable no matter what, even if I use mutlipliuers and that so ram and CPU run nearly the same, but chipset faster it again fails prime after like 1 min:mad: REALLY strange, also the whole system is now water cooled, chipset stays at 40c, as does cpu, WHAT CAN I DO ? AM I MISSING SOMETHING ? an example of the various ram timings iv tried is below:

Odd o/c settings with NF4 DFI EXpert
combat squirrel replied to combat squirrel's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
HI ! got these settings at the moment: DRAM Frequency Set - 140 Command Per Clock (CPC) - enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 2 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 03 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 05 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 02 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 08 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 16 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 04 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 03 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 03 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 3120 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - auto DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Level 8 DRAM Data Drive Strength - Level 4 Max Async Latency - 10.0 Nano Seconds DRAM Response Time - Normal Read Preamble Time - 8.0 Nano Seconds IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disabled R/W Queue Bypass - 16x Bypass Max - 04x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(4 Bursts) SEEMS to be working at the moment, gives me a ram speed of 200mhz, cpu is at 2860, FSB 286mhz Seems ok, are any of the above settings SERIOUSLY slowing my PC down or ? I dont get what they all mean, is there a number in there that i SHOULD aim to be higher/lower as it makes big differences to the systems performance ? -
3800 x2 w/ DFI Expert board does not OC
combat squirrel replied to DogChainX's topic in Overclocking and Cooling
just tried your settings, WORKED ! 286mhz FSB now, SO SO strange, why do those settings make all the difference ? -
