  1. i am trying to break the 3Ghz on my A64 4200+x2, and i am having issues My setup: DFI lanparty Ultra-SLI 2Gb G.Skill HZ F1 DDR500 3-4-4-8 @250Mhz 2.7v AMD 64 4200+x2 toledo E6 @250x11 ROCK SOLID 8800gt @690/1725/1000 i have read many of the OC'ing guides but I am not able to get 272Mhz stable. i can get the computer and windows to load at [email protected] which from what i read is good start to be able to boot into windows but i need to get it stable. Once i run prime95 or try and bench Crysis it errors or crashes. (Is there a guide that explain each settings on DFI LP-UT bios?) Also i dont think it is a problem with my ram i think it has to do with the CPU but i am not sure, but i know my ran can run 1:1 if i drop the multiplier to [email protected] and the system runs fine. Do i need to increase the voltage higher? Are there suggested settings for DFI LP UT-SLI, G.Skill, A64X2 E6? **i am realy stoked to hit the 3Ghz mark as it means i can run Crysis at avg of 34FPS on High with the DX10 Xp Mod. (funny thing i was able to bench Crysis @272 fbs but i crash when i try and play the game. ***I have attached Pics and html from a64info and cpuz
  2. Dont worry about it i have 2 Seasonics and i tried my s12-500 and s12-430 on my board for atleast a month with each to see if there are any issues. (the 500 is my friends had to give it back.) I have not had any problems at all and i overclock. But if you were to use SLI/Crossfire then you need to do a upgrade on the PSU, but if not you should be fine. Seasonics are one of the best PSU's you can buy. You shouldn't worry about the problems that users on this board are having with these PSU's. Seasonic has fixed this problem with the help from Angry. (dont think the fist revisions are even around anymore.) if you have any further questions about my experences with the 500/430 them PM me and i can answer anything you need.
  3. Nah Seasonic is one of the best PSU's on the market next to P&C, but again it is the price that is what makes them not so popular. As for the "Well I agree with just about everything except the "I don’t have the right to be frustrated".” Yea you are right, i just did a lot of research myself on these and XS forums before i bought anything just to make sure I had the right components. This frustrates me when someone comes here and expects to have things work 110% without any of the research. (This is not aimed at you or anyone in particular). As for cold-boot it does not to be a general underlining theme but more of a bad unit or batch of units. At least from what I have read. As far as Enermax they are a good quality (not just PSU’s) but I don’t think they are as good as Antec (higher end) the top PSU companies me thinks are! P&C Seasonic My Favorite OCZ Fortron/FSP Antec Enermax But let us know the results with that RMA’d PSU and the expert.
  4. You really have to understand that, you purchased a DFI LANparty... it isn’t an everyday run of the mill MB. It is an enthusiast’s board. And there are consequences with them; you have to buy from a specific pool of parts. If you don’t want to then you need to get a refund on the board and get a MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE. End of story. There are many threads that explain what you need and most of them are ALL sticky'd. I was new to this board and I managed to put everything together by going on recommendations, my own research, and just plan know how on what NOT to buy. Again if you don’t want to head warnings and go with the pool of recommendations I suggest you return the expert. I know this comes off as snide, but just how it is, you don’t have the right to be frustrated, when you don’t listen to anyone on this forum. Now as to the recommendation for the PSU, ill help you out on that here is a list of all the PSU that are recommended and not these have been TESETED! With the boards (there is a expert section as well) http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10854 Me personally I love Seasonic they are so quiet and VERY efficient but very pricy Seasonic s-12 500/600 are very nice (people say that there are problems but that was long ago and Angry Games said it himself that it has been resolved). As for non Seasonic, the OCZ Powerstream 520, this has proven to be the all around cheap for all the DFI boards. I recently bought one to replace my Seasonic. I got a great deal check link http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/m...uct_Code=100346
  5. yea the seasonic is like ummm.. "Is it on?" quiet. i love seasonic, but it was alittle pricey for me. 169.99 anyways thanks for the help, not to figure out if the Mod from Ultra-D to SLI-D will hinder 2 7900gt CO Superclocked cards. if any of you can lead me in the right directio for that i woudl apprciate it. (i love this forum)... I LOVE DFI
  6. http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/m...&AFFIL=FRG&NR=1 just bought this one. let me know if i shoudl cancel if it is the wrong version. i will be runnign SLI
  7. Please note: that i want a quiet PSU and if this isnt quiet them please tell me and i will get a Seasonic S-12 600.
  8. there are 2 PSU's from OCZ that are 520watt OCZ520ADJSLI http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/powe...pply-sli_ready_ and this one http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/powe...am_power_supply i want to get the Top link one OCZ520ADJSLI Refer to my sig for specs. i have seasonic that i borrowed from friend and now i have to give it up...i would get another seasonic but cables are pretty short and that kinda bugs me. esp with the coolermaster case i have.
  9. ok taking your advise i went and looked at the WD 250g SATAII http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144701 so this will give me a boost in loading times? i know that the raptor is fast but it just is kinda small and very expensive for what it is. going to be playing BF2 and with the time it takes to load i can take a shower ^^ (esp. "Verifying Client Data")
  10. i basically can get 2 120's and run them Raid 0 for the price of this drive, not sure if it is worth it
  11. ok on that not is this drive over kill for games. FYI im not planing on running Raid 0
  12. Read last post Do you think that spending the money to get one of these is worth it for mainly gaming? I do play BF2 alot; but i was wonering why it was only SATA-I and not II. also should i just stick with getting a normal SATAII 7200rpm HD? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144160 Please help i dotn know what to do...
  13. Thanks i will be buyign some in the next week to come !!!!!!
  14. Currentyl i am bottlenecked when overclocking due to my Ram, i want ram that will atleast do 275 FSB 1:1 ratio. Is the below ram a good choice? G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231021
