  1. The Enermax unit you are considering doesn't meet any of the two criteria I noted above.

    Iv asked a few people I know in the industory here in the Uk, like the RMD @ Novatech and also some one who works in Brother up in manchesta. They would strongly recomend it etc... and I view them as high up indevidules who know what there on about.... So.... I just need to now buy it :D

    Thanks for all your help people :D

  2. Are you being paid to say that???

    I was actualy 2 seconds away from buying the ENERMAX GALAXY EGX850EWL 850W today..

    Why do you hate these??? Iv seen nothing but good revies on these. And I like them. The only bad point is that its a bit bigger, but i dont care about this as I have a STC-T01 Stacker which can take anything...

  3. Ok, so its down to these 5.

    1, Corsair TX 750W - Fixed wires = £87.54 Inc VAT

    2, SilverStone Decathlon 750W - Modular = £117.49 Inc VAT

    3, Thermaltake Toughpower 850W - Modular = £93.00 / £98.99 @ Ebuyer.com

    4, Coolermaster 850W Modular Quad - Modular = £110.45

    5, ENERMAX GALAXY EGX850EWL 850W - Modular = £120.35

    What you lot think? (Dont care if its modular anymore)

    Also, this will be at the bottom of my case, not the top, so the 120mm fan will be suking in cold air from the bottom of the case instead of blowing in hot air from the top like most do. (think its silly doing that)

  4. The 750W Corsair PSU is also good, Single 12V rail, but unfortunetly not modular.

    umm.. the 620W and 520W ones are modular, O well, still like it. (just looked, not modular like you said :( )

    The PCP&C 750W CF PSU would be great, if you get a good price I would not hesitate.
    The Power&Cooling 750W Crossfire certified PSU £92.83

    Good Price??

  5. Hello all.... I am looking for some reliable, good looking DDR2 RAM. I was looking at the 1066MHz OCZ stuff but some one on another forum said that this is old school and that 1066MHz is over kill, im like :S what ever... I want at least 4GB as this is the MAX an OS can take unless 64Bit of course... My MB can take up to 8GB so then I was thinking if the IO would like a bit, but then 4GB to IO is a bit too generous don’t you think.

    The hardware that I will be running is the following:

    Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula (NOT Special edition :( )

    CPU: Core2Duo Q6600 OC @ 3.2 GHz

    GFX: Two ATI HD 3870 Crossfire cards in CF mode.

    HD: 2 x WD 78GB Raptors RAID-0 -OS

    HD: 4 x WD 250GB RAID-5 -Data

    // CoolerMaster Stacker STC-T01 + 4x120mm, 3x80mm fans.

    // Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme + 120mm fan for CPU.

    // CoolerMaster Stacker Side Fan for MB components cooling.

    TV card in the future.. Don’t know if this will need extra RAM for IO.

    Was looking in the OCZ area, also at the Corsair TwinX Dominator 1066MHz Dual Channel and Geil Black Dragon 1066Mhz all of which are DDR2.

    Your idea’s please... O and the MB can be in Duel-Channel mode :P

  6. Um.. How come the 650W SilverStone Decathlon is CF Certified and the SilverStone Decathlon 750W is not, but SLI Certified :S I would of thort that the SLI one would be CF Certified too... :S >.<

    The Power&Cooling 750W Crossfire certified PSU range's from £92.83 to £143.59.

  7. Hello all.... I am looking for a reliable, good looking, stable in the volts when under load power supply. I would like to have one that you can disconnect and add in extra cables etc.. depending on what I need. (would also like one with a 120mm fan on the bottom, if not dw..)

    The hardware that I will need to run is the following:

    // Asus Maximus Formula

    // CoolerMaster Stacker STC-T01 + 4x120mm, 3x80mm fans.

    // Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme + 120mm fan.

    // Core2Duo Q6600 OC @ 3.2 GHz

    // Two ATI HD 3870 Crossfire cards in CF mode.

    // 4GB RAM... dont know what to get yet for this..

    // 2 x WD 78GB Raptors RAID-0 -OS

    // 4 x WD 250GB RAID-5 -Data

    // TWO OPTICAL DRIVES!!! ;) -- update!!

    TV card in the future..

    Will need to be able to power WC if needed and future proof. Must not exseed £160.

  8. Hia,

    Does anyone here know if there are any known issues with the following motherboard?

    DFI-ACP G7L630-B

    The problem is the following. The person who owns this board is using it on a web server, which was ment to be up ages ago, but has run into some problems. After a while, the entire machine will just lock up totally.

    They then took this machine off line to test over the weekend and found that when using Pc-Check, Pc-Check would also haing, but on the memory, which is very strange. I immediately thought of the motherboard (They had already done this testing once before with another 4 sticks of new RAM and still the same results.) The PSU looks to be in good shape but I’m kind of looking more into the motherboard area now. He has 2x 250GB hard disks, 2 x Optical drives, 1 x 775Sct Prescott P4, 4 x Kingston Value 1GB RAM 533MHz (its ok stuff, does the job) 400W PSU.

    Please Advice.

  9. Prehaps we are the unlucky ones then in that case. Always get the uptodate hardware thats ****. If i had a chance to save any of the hardware in the hardware lab at were i work i might nab the X4100 Sunfire server blade and leave the rest. (let the crap burn).

    But I do agree on one part that with XP and with Vista I origanly used to do this. Take the driver direct from the main scorce as this seemed the most logical route to take. O well, lets just drop this little dispute, its not getting us anyware.

    Back to the motherboard :drool:

    Any idea when its coming out? The intel 45nm CPU's should be coming out soon as well.
