  1. Is there a way to tell which driver could be causing the problem? I have a feeling that its probably the soundcard which is the last thing i installed. I have three IRQs that are being shared, could the sharing of the IRQS make the system unstable? Here are the IRQs that are being shared: IRQ 20 Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller IRQ 20 NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator IRQ 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System IRQ 9 VAXSCSI Controller IRQ 18 Creative SB X-Fi IRQ 18 Generic Marvell Yukon Chipset based Ethernet Controller IRQ 18 NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT
  2. This system has been running since around January, but i just reinstalled xp less than a month ago. The drive was reformated and everything. This hasnt been a problem for a long time, in fact it just started a couple days ago. The computer will just restart with no bsod or anything. I unchecked the "reboot after error" so if it happens again ill see if theres a bsod or not.
  3. Ive done memtest, but havnt run occt or prime for very long yet, i guess ill do that tonight. My 165 is oc'ed to 1.4 right now and has been stable so far for a couple of months so i dont think that is what is causing it, but it could be possible
  4. Hey, I've recently been getting some random restarts on my computer. My Specs are in my sig, but I havnt updated it recently, I have the latest 2006/04/06 bios and a 7900gt and Xfi extreme music soundcard. In the event viewer there is a save dump. It Reads: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x100000d1 (0x71a5df52, 0x00000002, 0x00000008, 0x71a5df52). A dump was saved in: C:WINDOWSMinidumpMini080406-01.dmp." I did a search and noticed someone had the same exact bugcheck, but they didnt seem to be able to solve it. I read the minidump and it seems to be a problem with an IRQL fault with svchost.exe. The bugcheck reads: ******************************************************************************* * * * Bugcheck Analysis * * * ******************************************************************************* DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1) An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

  6. "Signatures may contain images no larger 50kb in size, and be 650x200 pixels. Signatures may not be larger than 650x300 pixels total." my sig was only 650x200 according to cs2, thanx for replying to my question "3. Stay on topic - this means do not hijack a thread, or post useless information/flaming/insulting in a thread. Users come here for help, not to wade through spam or cursing or insulting." theres another rule for ya...

  8. alright thanx for the replies i flashed back the original bios and am just using the nvidia thing for now
  9. the thing is when i use the nvidia overclcoking when i go into 3dmark is tells me that its at 468 not 496 for the core clock
  10. I overclocked my 7800gt with this guide here i clocked it to 439/1150 and got worse reslut in 3dmark06. before i overclocked it i had a score of 4010 with stock, then i used the overclock part in the nvidia drivers and got a score of 4164, and with the new way i got a score of 3994. did i do something wrong? i changed the settings with the program save it to the floppy and loaded it in dos so how would i get a lower score?
  11. on idle my cpu temp is 28-30 degrees C, PWMIC 39 degrees C, and the chipset is 43 degrees celcius. i havnt overclocked yet so everything is stock. these sem right to me but this is my first build so do they look ok to you guys?
  12. My northbridge fan keeps loosing up or something and will start to vibrate and produce a very high pictched and annoying sound. its louder than all my other fans put together. to fix it i have to pen up the case and tweak it a little by either turning it or pushing on it a little. is there something wrong with it or are you all experiancing this also? i would like to be able to fix this without buying an aftermarket heatsink for it.
  13. Hey i just built my computer last night and everything went perfectly, but i have a little aggervation. when i start up the computer i want the numlock to be on, becuase i need to enter my pw in windows and i cant enter bios without it on. i went into the bios and changed bootup numlock to on but it goes on and off while booting up, but when windows has loaded its off and i have to press the button to turn it on, is there a way to make it stay on? my bios is the latest btw, i havnt updated the sig yet
