  1. my board went down so i got a new one - put back in (with raid 0x4 hdd) and sent the older revision for rma.. thats how i got 2 boards (expert) now the 2nd board sts in a backup basic machine with a 939 amd 64 3500..
  2. yes i got 3 boards.. a002/ is not as good as aooc or a00d d is best for overclocking + better temp probe monitoring.. a002 has cpu shutdown problem that c/or d does not have. ie stop cpu fan (set bios to shutdown at 65) but cpu does not shutdown at 65 (fail to do this) 00c + 00d works.
  3. http://www.siliconimage.com/ (sill image 2nd controller) www.nvidia.com (chipset +raid) http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_s...TYPE=LP&SITE=US (sound etc..) http://www.marvell.com/drivers/search.do marvel 2nd network card...
  4. no...new board came with last known up to date bios.... just downloading...checking email then...mbm5 warned me of low voltage.. i though faulty software glitch... but same in bios.. actual now its saying .098 volts before it was 1.09 boards never been clocked... at 4800 + 1900xtx it does every thing i need.. no mods on it..stock standard....everything heatsink etc... last board that died (11months old) had a th 90c heatsink... but i decides it was not warthy to clock t as i cant get rid of the heat via air cooling....and i needed a rock stable setup... i only run bf2 - 2142 for a few hours a week...rest of the time...print invoices etc...watch dvds..
  5. my 3.3v sensor via mbm5 or via bios screen health.. is now saying 1.09v. psu tested shows 3.3v and system is fully stable... i have 2 boards (expert) iv rip out my new d rev board and put in the replacement c version.. its ok....shows 3.3/// 3.28 etc.. i have mbm log file every 60 sec.... why has my sensor gone wrong... show i send it back under warrenty its 5 months old.. how long is the warrenty..
  6. i dont have any problems with my setup...using same ram i think...?
  7. you can go to 400 ddr t2 on the expert. i tested crosair 4000 pro (ddr500) sticks 4x 512mb after 410(420) the board spits the dummy.. but with 2 sticks ddr 550 max)
  8. iv got a 4800... if you are not going to clock.. its fast... just use ddr400 ram... geting ddr 500ram is very expensive for old ram.. all ddr2 now..
  9. yep... just make sure you hook it up correctly. my thermal take armor case has firewire port on top. 6-15 wires hook up the 2nd firewire port on the motherboard.. make sure you check wire diagram hookup. and make sure it is a firewire port. check case manual-web
  10. sorry dont know.. never herd of aa- ab revisions... you would think so.. a02 (maybe a0b) then a0c + a0d? good board - some problems ... but no bios updates anymore....
  11. iv got rev a0c /a0d a0d is 4 months old (new 2nd system.) a0c is a rma board sent back.. 4 (months old) a02 (my origional board-dead rma it) 1.3 years old. allboard have the same last off bios.. but a02 board has a bug.. if you stop the cpu fan (set bios up to autoshutdown at 60dcelc), but it would not turn the system off. ripped the board out put in a0d - did test...it works..same setup? Only diff was revision of board.
  12. actually the 4 pin p4 power only will plug in 1 way. the shapes ins (plastic) will not allow you to plug it in the other 1/2 half of the connector...iv tried...
  13. are they grayed out. 1 nvidia or sil if its sil image go to part where you set the ram speed mem86 built n test.. option to turn on sil 3114 (old/new/raid/sata on/off) should be the same as the expert bios? the sil 3114 will not show up in bios (hdd details) they will appear at bootup (black screen white writing) sil 3114 sata controller 0hdd 500wd 1hdd 400wd 2hdd 750 segate 3hdd nec dvd burner etc...
  14. old mods ---very old... also seen el-tape... on bottom of case (el-light...) as well as el-light sheets...(thermaltake 5 1/4 el-panel) (pick 1 up for 5 bucks ) white el-light and iv gots 1.5m of red el-light... good in cars... el-light hdd meter? http://www.pccasegear.com.au/category8_1.htm http://www.elec2go.com.au/category7_1.htm big shop-ideas
  15. 70 the hotest iv got.. every thing was as max (transfer rates) 14hdd in system.. when you copy data everywhere it gets hot...+ esc it you play a dvd at the same time... 80 (iv unstable) 70 max still stable,, but you want in in the 60 or less.. chip can take (before death i think 125?)
  16. same with everyone..... judt do the .22uf cap mod.. get get a ocz 700w xstream psu...
  17. same problem with a lexmark photo p760? cant remember.. hang would not et me boot. tossed the printer.
  18. dfi board have their good points and their bad points. they are very fussy with what hardware you put them together with, esc the psu.. and which ram slots used..and ram type...makes you pull your air out - even if you are a expert user/builder. some big bios bugs. etc... they are not for the average user, it cost me a small bundle in money to get my system perfect.. (or as good as it gets) they have not released a bios updates for many boards (like they are going out of the end user market?.. but the boards are ok. look at me (i know their is a compat problem with my board) AND ANY PCI-EXPRESS ADD IN CARDS. ie jbm 363 + sil 3132 if you plug in either card - you get a strange problem. it wont turn on... 2 red leds - and a black screen. remove card and its ok. i tried everything... , after power on wait 5 sec then i press reset, magic it boots up... (sort reset ok). i thaught it was the card. the card works in any other board.. then i got a 3132 sil pci-express card (same problem) so not the cards, the bios (motherboard) - i have 2 expert boards (same problem)...diif psu + ram + cpu + setups+ (even a pci video card) this board has trouble with pci express sata add in cards... pci cards ok.. and iv tried every combination.......... (i can live with a 5 second press reset) when you first turn the system on. it would be nice if they updated the bios to fix some features.. why arent they updating the bios. the people that origionally make the bios (oem) are still updating the 939.. (asus are) i wont buy a dfi board if they have drop support for updating the bios..ie drop support only after a few months of release.. i need a bios to fix the pci-express add in card problem + update the sil 3114 raid bios etc.. (big fix in raid 5 for the 3114)
  19. 32 bit address 4g max (including virtul hdd memory) ie: page file.. LOOK for threads related xp + 4 g ram (some setting to change so you can use more ram (sp2 xp) lim ram usage etc.. 32b vista same problem... any 64 bit o/s can go past the 4 g limit... you have a old problem, their are fixes...
  20. if you can get the 700w ocz xstream.... very happy...................
  21. hi i had the problem with my sintek 600w psu it died - now i got a ocz xstream 700w no problems (i had to remove the .22 cap) to get the psu to work OK(ocz). the fix is easy (.22uf cap) + to + connection on you case power button. but you should not have the cold boot bug with your 700w ocz! i have 2 dfi expert board both tested 700w (www.pccasegear.com) no problems.... rma for the cold boot problem will not fix it.. they will test it with a approved psu, and send it back as is... (i just sent in my dfi board (rev 2) (and bought rev d) to apcmarket- sent it just before Xmas 15 th and got it Jan 15 2007 (if that gives you some idea of time for rma) they sent me a c revision board.. private message me... if you need a fix) ... I'm in Adelaide. dfi expert board (2 sicks of ram) (try removing 2 ticks) (use the orange slots....) just 12pin atx connector + 8pin p4 connector (actually 4pins works OK as well) - tested with this psu.. for testing run system at defaults... (no clocking etc...) with 2 stick of ram.. --- descrip of cold boot bug.: after second time turn on computer (not from the psu on/off) it turn on for about 4 sec then turn itself off. only a psu (off/on) will fix. --- solder a .22 uf cap (polarity correct) to the power button of case) make sure the connector plug to the motherboard "power" button -pins are di-connected. when finished make sure + on the cap matches the + on the pin header for the power button plug.... (or it wont work etc...) the OCZ 700W GAMEXSTREAM WORK ON DFI EXPERT BOARD - WITH NO FAULT... PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!! (TESTED ON 3 DFI BOARDS) REV 2 REV C+ REV D LAST OFFICIAL BIOS) (THE ONE THAT LETS YOU ADJUST THE CPU TEMP +/- 10D (ILL TAKE A PIC IN A FEW DAYS)... P.S I HAVE A 2ND PROBLEM... (2 MONTH OLD NOW)WITH A NEW JBMICRO PCI EXPRESS SATA CARD... TO GET THE COMPUTER TO BOOT UP.. I PRESS RESET 5 SEC AFTER I TURN IT ON.. (SOFT RESTART WORKS OK) DUE TO COMPATIBLE BETWEEN THESE 2 PRODUCTS.. WORK ON A ASUS BOARD BUT NOT DFI.. NOFIX.. NO BIG DEAL (PRESS RESTART) 5 SEC AFTER PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON...
