  1. Agreed...except that the Devils don't have the Duo SS anymore...hehehehe

Last time they were champions they had them....

Again...I'm not saying the Devils are a bad team, they're not...but they didn't exactly played first class teams on their current streak....

Rangers are a joke...don't even know how the heck did they qualify...

Anyway...now it will get interesting since the boys have been separated from the men....

  2. wahahahahahhahahahahahahaha

1-4 in the East, 5-8 in the West

NJ is the hottest team, and SJ is the most dangerous team

    Let's see about that...

I think Carolina showed some serious playing against the Canadiens, think the devils are gonna get past them?

This kid Cam Ward showed some solid goal tending...he's gonna give Elias, Gomez, etc a run for their money...

  3. Personally, I would just get the evercool vc-re. I have tried both and the evercool cools better (always under 40c for me), is much cheaper, looks cool and takes up less space in the case.

Totally agree, I personally dislike the twinkling lights that it emits, but heck, in your case they won't even show up since the cooler will be totally covered...lol

I bought one just as a back up plan in case my original fan goes bad...I followed the awesome guide that angry put together and replaced the yellow goop DFI uses as a thermal interface and put it AS5....let's just say my 7800GT CO is over the primary 16x slot covering the chipset now and under load, the temperatures never exceed 46C at 4000 RPM.....needless to say the video card fan turns out to be louder than the chipset fan ever will be....

  4. I'm not so sure what you mean, please explain.

I can't even get to the BIOS since I can't boot without my CPU HSF turning off.

What he means n33b is that the board is temperature sensitive, which means it will start or stop the CPU fan according to temperature readings and settings you yourself determine that the fan should turn on and off...

there's a section in the bios called "PC Health Status" in there you can set the fan to start spinning or stop spinning at a given temperature of the CPU....

For a good balance you could setup the fan start up spin to....say .....30C and to spin at its maximum speed at 50C since nobody wants to have a CPU past 50c anyway....

don't be afraid to go into the bios and change it since if you installed the HSF correctly chances are your CPU is running too cool to need the fan spinning anyway....

  5. fariss and others... what is confusing me is that BIOS also recognises 3,4 GB of RAM and not only XP pro SP2. But if I restart the CMOS to defaults the first BIOS memory count will be correct (4gb). (BTW: I have now flashed BIOS on 2006/04/06 and it doesn't help.)

Do windows XP somehow influence on false BIOS memory read?!?!?!?

    help!?

Go into the BIOS in the "Advanced Chipset Features"

There's an option called "Memory Hole MMIO" or something of the sort...don't remember by heart....make sure it's ENABLED if you wanna see all 4 gigs recognized in the BIOS and everywhere else....

  6. No. If following the advice given in some of the mentioned guides there's no need to, but if a system isn't thoroughly tested that might become necessary because of file corruption.

    Really?

I tought the system would only see a single core because when windows was installed on a single core machine, the HAL installed was for a sigle core only...

in the device manage it says "APCI single core Processor" whereas a multi core system would have "APCI Multicore processor"....

I maybe wrong but it seems I saw this here somewhere....

  7. any word on this!! Mine runs 57* on full load, dual prime!

    Welcome to my world brotha....

I just installed my new opty 165 yesterday to replace my x2 3800+ and before at 2500mhz the PWMIC temp was 42C under load...now with the opty at 2565mhz it runs at 47C....a good 5C increase....thinking about installing a fan on top of it...

don't know what's the best way yet...I have a spare 80mm fan laying around but have no idea how to fix the thing...

  8. Lanpartys D, Ultra-D, SLI-D and SLI-DR have the exact same BIOS and layout....the only thing different is the DR has an extra RAID controller...

nothing in the bios tell you wich version you have...the boards themselves might have the right model written on them just above the memory slots...

Even if you go to the DFI website and look for BIOSes you'll see only one for all the aforementioned models....

  9. Since everybody here is talking about chipset coolers I'm gonna but in here with a question that has been burning into my head...and I'm sorry again for the question but it might be useful to others as well....I noticed that there are two versions of the evercool....the VR-CE and VR-CF.....

everybody here seem to recommend the VR-CE and nobody says anything about the CF.....is the CF compatible with the DFI NF4?

I know for a fact that the main difference is the annoying twinkling lights on the CE which I couldn't care less about, specially since I have a clear sided case and I hate bright stuff....

    Thanks

  10. Any suggestions? I'm pretty sure the thermal paste and contacts are good, especially since the temps are doing good. Voltages and everything are stable too. Didn't change any settings at all. Everything is exactly the same, except the new hs/fans.

Humm....if only the chipset fan has been replaced, I wonder if you didn't crack the chipset core....that part where you have to put your chipset HSF back on top of the chipset can be dangerous....I just cleaned the yellow thermal goop and applied AS5 this weekend...but didn't start the machine as I sold my x2 and am waiting for my opty to arrive....I just hope I didnt'crack the damn thing....
