    OCZ EL plat 2g(1024x2) :-(

In other words, nobody could reach 250mhz with this memory .... this sucks...
  2. that was a very bad translation dude, but that's fine....lol the guy will get the message

    OCZ EL plat 2g(1024x2) :-(

Yes, this memory is a bit tricky to work with, I was running my old OCZ Platinum Rev2 Happy @ 2,5.3.3.7 with the HTT @ 250 1:1 But now with this one I can't run @ 250 no matter what timings or voltage I put...One thing I noticed is this memory is extremely sensitive to voltages...the sweetspot is 2.7v if you put 2.6 or 2.8 I can't get to 225mhz @ 2,5.3.2.7 like I'm doing right now...if ANYONE successfully was able to make this RAM run @ 250mhz, PLEASE OH PLEASE give me your configs....I'd appreciate it...
  4. Agree with dragavan, the sweet spot for this memory is 2.7v I'm currently running it @ 225mhz @ 2,5.3.2.7 and there's no way I can get this memory running at 250mhz which is the FSB my CPU is running at....3.4.4.8, 2.8v, nothing helped. the maximum it reaches is 240mhz @2.5,3,3,7 @2.7v If anyone has more settings or could reach 250mhz with this memory PLEASE, post all the configs It'd be greatly appreciated
  5. You are right, there's no virtual difference between running @ 8x and 16x I ran benchmarks on both situations and the difference is totally is 3% at the most.... so leave it both @ 8x and then when you add a second card you don't have to worry about swapping back again
  7. Well, it seems you didn't move the jumpers in between the Graphic slots to the other position...if you don't, your first pciex slot will run at its full speed @16x and the second @ 2x....instead of 8x and 8x each....nvidia drivers are not crazy....you just inserted the card in the wrong slot....

OCZ Platinum Memory wont do T1

Please do....lol Use both, everest and our dear sandra to measure both instances...

OCZ Platinum Memory wont do T1

Aha! Ricky my man....you're using SANDRA to give you accurate info....DON'T ! With me it says that I'm running @ 2T.....but every other program that I use (everest, A64 Tweaker etc) tell me otherwise....so Forget about sandra giving you reliable information....how do I know? I manually set the bios with CPC Enabled and Disabled and ran benchmarks on both ocasions and it's clear there's a performance drop with it disabled, SANDRA indicated 2T on the command rate in both instances....hahahaha

    3800X2 Revision BH-E4

I don't think he has a problem there, because I have the same CPU and I'm able to overclok it to 2400mhz without even raising the vcore voltage, which means that temperatures would't increase all that much. About the memory controller, that is such a complex subject, how can you tell really precisely about this since even if you have the exact same part number that doesn't mean they will perform the same....anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about that if I were you...unless you had and old clawhammer core wich is a different controller altogether than the new ones "venice, san diego, manchester, toledo"....

OCZ Platinum Memory wont do T1

Hi Ricky, I have the exact same kit as you and you have to play by it's rules if you wanna make this RAM run rock solid, first off, don't try 2.8V ! If you do you may encounter problems as I did....I have mine set at 2.7v and I can overclock it slightly @450 @ 2,5.3.2.7 1T, and they are working on the orange slots. So I think the sweet spot for this memory is 2.7v, you should be able to run @1T

    fan connector question?

Yeah...that was really clear to understand....
  13. Oceanborn

    fan connector question?

And how do you move the pins from the fan molex to work with 5 or 7 volts???
  14. Oceanborn

    Controlling fan speeds !?

Ok guys and how exactly do you "connect to the 5V or 7V" line ???????
  15. Hey guys, I'm having a hard time overclocking my Athlon64 X2 3800+ to 2600MHZ @2500 it runs rock solid @ 1.40V, when I put 2600mhz it boots into windows fine but as soon as I run prime on both cores a few seconds later windows freezes completely...I tried adding more voltage, until 1.46v but don't wanna go beyond that..frying a dual core CPU is not something I wanna do right now... I even increased the chipset voltage to 1,6V but that didn't do squat... If anybody have any suggestions please I'm all eyes....

    Manchester X2 Can't do 260HTT :-(

Idle @ 34C and load with dual prime @ 45 Like I said, it does't seem to be a temperature issue because it happens as soon as I start the dual instances of prime95 or to be torough, 2 seconds after, so I don't think the cpu gets all that hot to lock the system up, plus I reached higher temperatures than this when I had a zalman cnps7000b on it before...It maybe not enough voltage...i just find it odd the CPU going from 2.4 with no voltage need at all, to 2.5 to 1.4v and now when I'm trying 2.6 1.45v doesn't seem to cut it....anyway, I'm gonna try 1.5v to see if that helps.... thanks guys

    Manchester X2 Can't do 260HTT :-(

I failed to mention that the ram was on a divider always when I increase the CPU...I test them individually, I made sure the ram wasn't holding the system back. What is weird to me is that @ 2400mhz I do not even have to increase the CPU voltage AT ALL. It runs fine with the AUTO settings in the BIOS, then I decide to increase the speed another 100mhz and I need a whole 0.1v extra to make it stable I guess I will try 1.5v to see if that will do.... thanks a lot guys
  18. Hey guysm here's the gist, I'm selling out my awesome 1 gig of the OCZ platinum rev2 to buy a 2 gig dual channel kit...I know a lot of people out there have these kits, so basically I'm looking for a kit that is capable of hitting the 260mhz mark without going bankrupt...lol My CPU will be running 1:1 with the ram so I'll be putting the two of them @ HTT_260 Any sugestions?

    2gig Dual Channel Kit Suggestion

And at which speed are you running them now big bruin?

    2gig Dual Channel Kit Suggestion

I was refering to the Gskill Memory by the way

    2gig Dual Channel Kit Suggestion

Thanks for the advice, however I can't find this memory in any major CANADIAN retailers....damn it....sometimes it sucks living in Canada...lol

    wont go over 3.6v

    3,6v on what??? vdimm?
  23. Well, you tried both lan controllers and they're both doing the exact same thing...what does that tell you? The problem is not with the controllers....can easily be either your software firewall installation (if you have one) or even worse...your Cable/DSL modem....or even the phone cable linking the outlet and the modem( if it's DSL) or the cable that goes into the cable modem. I'd bring your computer to someone else's house that has the same provider as you to eliminate the installation or the equipment you have at home...

    NTLDR is missing. . .

Hey This exact same thing happened to me and you nailed the problem on the head....it's overclocking....your memory is pushed too hard....try and run the memtest.....you're garanteed to have memory errors...and if you do have memory errors, when windows tries to load dll's on the memory it crashes.... sometimes it crashes so badly that it corrupts files. So sometimes it's required to use the windows installation CD to correct the issue...so my advise to you is this....go back to the drawboard and start overclocking ONLY your memory to find out what's it's MAX and then worry about correcting the windows install....
  25. Thanks for the info critter...unfortunetly I live in Montreal otherwise I'd purchase the one you have....
