  2. ok so i'm gonna memtest them individually and see what stick or both is at fault them RMA them to OCZ. I've had another couple of bluey's today and some automatic system restarts. I'm gonna stick my regular Corsair 3200 xms platinum back in while I RMA them to OCZ I think. I dont have any probs with the Corsair and i OC them to 240mhz with a 5/6 devider on stock volts. If anyone has any ideas them plese let me know. i'll try anything all details of my setup is below in my sig. I'm also using sharp's bios timings and used his cmos reset that is also below. thanks in advance.
  3. aha site's back up and i finally got 5 mins from the hospital and my lovelly wife and new daughter Willow. So thanks again. first you asked for memtest errors so: wall time = 18:30 (left it running all night and most of day) cached = 1023m rsvdmen = 276m memmap = e820-std cahce = on ecc = off test = std pass = 51 errors = 52642 (I think this is a fair amount of errors!) ecc errs = 0 ok so below that are the errors in red first one is: test = 5 pass = 51 failing address = 0003e05ede8 - pp2mb good = 00000400 bad = 00000408 err bits = 00000008 this basically continues all at 003eo5* and the good ranges from 00002000 to 00040000 and the bad from 00002008 to 00040008. then got my first : STOP C000071a (Fatal system error) the windows subystem system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc00000ld (0*75easa0c 0x00c8el68) the system has shutdown aaaagggghhhh! lol thanks for the settings in your sigs i will try them. dr bowtie if you would. might have to rma this memory first though............. so, anyone, any ideas? thanks in advance for your advice
  4. Hi and thanks for the great walk through. My PC now hasn't shut itself down or blue screened..............yet. One issue i'd like to ask your opinion on is when i test it with prime 95 torture test it returns: FATEL ERROR: rounding was 0.5, expected was 0.4 hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file torture test ran 14 minutes - 1 error, 0 warnings execution halted So, I check the stress file and it says try the forum as its the same error ewach time and the forum help me at all. Should I worry. Also this memory has the potential to run at 300 mhz / 3V and I had the CPU at 2.8ghz with the old corsair so do i try say 295*9 then inch up to 300+ till maxed? Any other settings I should consider? Oh and i got a reply from OCZ they say if i memtest it again and mark the stick with the fault they will RMA it for me. Thanks in advance. P/S Sorry for any delay but my wife had a little girl sunday morning. I'm now a dad. We have called her Willow.
  5. The memory in question is: OZC PC 4800 512 mb, EL Duel CH Platinum Ltd. Edition 2.5-4-4-10. The PN is OCZ6001024ELDCPE-K and there are 2 modules of 512 mb. My system is as in my sig The errors that I have had are: Several blue screen “fatal system errors” and several “IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” which lead me to believe it may be a memory error issue. This was runing the ram at stock speeds and timings. I then ran memtest 86 from the bios and it returned some errors the first time then none after another 13hr long test?!?!? I have contacted OCZ about a RMA of the modules and for advice. I have resorted to back to using some old Corsair PC 3200 memory and am having no issues now and my system is working fine. This adds weight to my thinking that it might be the OCZ ram. I have used the search but to no avail. If anyone can advise me I'd be very interested in what you say. Yes I did a full CMOS reset before changing my RAM and all the usual bios optimisation settings. Thanks in advance. Chewy
  6. Hi, Just upgraded to the 64 X2 4200+ because i decided a duel core cpu would be better suited to my pc usage (multi app and gaming) and it was only £120. Had the opty 144 at 2.6 stable with no trouble. Got the 4200+ to 2.5 first go and will be going through the overclock guide again to fine tune it this weekend (looking for 2.75 i hope) I think i've made a good choice but want other DFI users views please (reassure me!) Anyone with a 4200+ OC advice? Devider advice etc. I'm planning on selling the opty 144 if anyones interested.....pm me. Details in the sig of course.

  8. hi, quick reply. changed my mobo conectors to sata 3 and 4. 3 being windows boot (samsung spinpoint) 4 new maxtor and disabled ncq. (http://maxtor.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/maxtor....li=&p_topview=1). no problems now. all sorted. both found in bios etc. thanks everyone for your suggestions. chewy out.
  9. ok so you talking about ports being labelled on the MB or in the bios. My MB lables them 1 - 4 and i currently have my windows bootable HD in 1 and had the new HD in 3. I'll put the new HD back in 2 and check the bios settings to ensure its trying to boot from 1 first (Old HD). Hey maybe i should put them in 3 and 4 then!
  10. ah ok, funny how its easy to miss the simple things eh. i'll have another look at it in the morning when i get home from work. so in the bios, i should be able to check the settings so that its set for windows to be booted from a perticular hdd. its weird as it worked a couple of times with no problems at all. then all of a sudden it freezes at the splash screen..........................
  11. Just added the Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ 300GB yesterday. It was found in bios and i partitioned / formatted it etc and it showed as drive "F". Fine i thought, everything works and i'll only be using it for storage at first. (maybe duel boot later.......) Next day and windows won't boot. Flies through bios etc and just hangs at splash screen. Had it on all night downloading gilmore girls, for the wife of course (bitcomet). Now i was thinking power but 600W should be fine eh!??!? Both SATA II drives using SATA power conectors from PSU and using SATA slots 1 and 3 on MB. I've unplugged it from SATA 3 on the MB and removed power to it and windows boots fine, no problems. Any thoughts? And because i used system restore to go back to a previous state i had to reinstall WOW from scratch because the patch i installed that day went tits up! AAAAGGGGHHHHH!
  12. thanks, i'm doing the proper clear cmos recovery this evening after i take the board out. Then an initial buils (angry_games style) I also noticed that i am using a Seasonic 600W PSU that others in the forum have had problems with so its going back monday via RMA and have a Enermax Noisetaker 600W EG701AX-VE(W) SFMA ATX2.0 SLI as recomended A list DFI PSU on the way. i've got a lot to do tonight but it should be fun! I'll post tomorrow and let you know how i get on. might not get any results until monday and the new PSU though. Simon
  13. Have you resolved this issue yet. I am in exactly the same possition. The only thing we have in common is the corsair memory so i am wondering about this. My system comprises of a DFI sli - d, AMD opteron 144 939, Corsair 1gb DDR XMS3200C2PT, Saesonic S12 600W ATX2.0 power supply, Artic cooling Freezer 64 pro, XFX 6800GS Extreme edition, Samsung Spinpoint P SP2504C.
