Homebuilt Acrylic Case Project
General Septem replied to HarryTaco's topic in Cases, Power Supplies and Modding
I have another question. Did you buy transluscent green acrylic for the framing, or did you tint clear acrylic? How thick is it? -

Here we go, a clearer drawing to see. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y40/akai-...ei/computer.jpg I've pretty much decided on a 10" width. That will make it possible both to mount the drives and possibly two 120mm fans side by side. I haven't decided for sure on the fan placement yet. With a 10" width, is it possible to mount a 120mm fan next to the PCI slots? -

Is it possible to bolt on an XP-120? -
That's a good point, and if you think of it this way, when the next GPU comes out the 7900 GTX will drop in price, and the dual will probably follow suit. The introduction of a new card doesn't all of a sudden make yours slower. It's still as fast as it was when you bought it. The end result is that you can pay less for the same performace because there's something better.

Good advice, unless you're in the stock market, and that's a relatively broad speculation, as the stock needs merely to go up to prove you correct.

I almost bought a gigantic (like 200 mm or something, I don't remember exactly) fan when I was at the local electronics surplus store. Man, they've got a ton of stuff in there. But then I looked at the voltage rating and realized it would burn out my PSU if I tried to use it, lol -

I posted a pic of my chenming earlier in this thread. I painted it in Gundam Mk-II colors. Here it is: I changed the layout of my room a bit, so now it's on my desk: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y40/akai-...ei/IMG_1466.jpg (I'm linking it because it's 11 pixels too big and I don't want to upset the na- *ahem* mods. ) -

http://www.mvktech.net/content/view/2937// Summary: NVIDIA is releasing a version of quad-SLI that you don't need Dell's new computer for - there are two chips on each card. I'm definitely getting one - when I can afford it.

If you use the flash, anything will look dusty. I'm not sure if there's a practical use for the flash (it's not a total waste, I've taken good pics with the flash but not of the computer nor any models or anything), but I find it's always better to have very good light on your target and turn the flash off. -

I'm currently "acquiring" a CAD program. It should be here soon providing the "shipping company" stays "up" and the "workers" stay at their "post". -

Speaking of HDD cooling, where do you get HDD water blocks? I looked on Newegg a while back and the only one I could find had several comments that say it'll leak within a week. -

Do you think the 12V DD-D5 would do everything I'd ever concievably want to cool through a manifold? -

Please, I have enough going on already :shake: Naturally I'm considering adding it to my list of projects though It's a shame 90% of the pics won't show up because he's got a free photobucket account EDIT: Does having a manifold work better than having a big loop? I know in irrigation systems it does, but are there any disadvantages? -

That's a huge monitor. Do you use that rig as a media center? I'm guessing from the layout.
