  1. well crap, 3dmark06 shows single-GPU/non-SLI score on 97.46.... back to the drawing boards it is
  2. yup, it is more responsive than XP IMO, specially after u run it for a week... for the scoring, im not curious about the CPU, im just wondering if the limit is 6.0 or 10.0 lol yes Creative driver seems to b better, but 'what u hear' is disabled for stereo mixing (tsk tsk tsk, what were u trying to do? lol). im just playing wit the overclocking side of Vista, the only program known to work to overclock the VGA so far is Ntune 5.5. Other doesnt work. ill bench 3dmark06 on both stock n oc'd (if i can reach the same speed) 300? u luck sob, running WMP for MP3 or online radio, MSN Messenger, Sidebar with 5 objects (including 100headline RSS), im hovering between 900MB ~ 1.01Gb..... just trying to work with no tweaking at all... on 3dmark i will shut these down, but on working with Office products (2003) and IE, everything is on... they all seems very fast...
  3. first of all, those are services... not processes.... Second, 300 is low enough IMO... TweakXP.com is a good start, if u google, there are more... from the list above, other than Norton (omg, go get another less-resource-hogging AV!), u would need those stuff.... most are networking and system updates for plug n play n such...
  4. Yeah, the rating will pick the lowest score u have as their total. instead of Average. and that 5.4 is with my 2.9+Ghz X2.... wonder what CoreDuo will score... Forceware 100.59 is a BETA, non-WHQL, and if u download from Nvidia.com it will only install on 8800 series if u look on Guru3d.com they have a modified .inf... but for the review sake, i'll stick with WHQL stuff. Maybe when i get to Performance bench's, if they suck, i'll try it out edit: ok ive read again the 97.46 driver page and it IS recommended that u download the 100.59 driver... although that one does NOT have SLI support for 6 and 7 series.... Now that's a bit odd... im using 96.46 now and SLI option is there. I do NOT know about the performance, but we'll just have to see
  5. Found a solution... no...CREATED a solution for the bad colour profile..... updated post #3... or 4, wutever...whichever got my sample bad colour pic...
  6. there's no SLI jumper in the Expert. I just set the SLI Aperture to Auto and 8-4-8 on the Genie. That's it. try both card, one at a time, on the 2nd slot. they should work just fine. leave the Genie one on 8-4-8. Should work. if not, ur 2nd slot might be busted like my old Infinity SLI board... once u know the 2nd slot works as well, reboot and plug both cards in, and download the latest Forceware. Go change to classic mode and SLI option should be there...
  7. if u google DRM ull get more info than what i could explain coz im not so much into those HD-DVD/Blu-ray stuff.... but seems like those are the "protected" copies... any .avi files or .mkv under Xvid or even x264 for HD res. videos seems fine... all of my DVDs play just fine... all with the KliteCodePack found at www.codecguide.com mp3s i purchased from either iTunes or other sites doesnt get problems with Winamp.... heck, even Daemon tools (the latest one only!) installed just fine...
  8. i just cant bring myself to a console.... except probably Wii.... those things r just bloody fun... well, im probably not that old of a geekster, but some of my buddies including some coworker always laugh..well... make joke...well not really, they just have *that* kind of look y'know? when i said i could spend all night long on BF2142.... thats when they dont know what BF2142 is... if i try to explain it, it just get worse..... oh well... sorry to hear some EB in states doesnt carry games anymore... Walmart PC games selection sux here, altho not that bad i guess...
  9. dammit that was fast... i can see urself smiling like ur avatar on that post lol nice... i actually might pick one up too.... on topic, yeah, the PSU seems to be ok... sure looks like the mobo's acting funny... have u flashed the BIOS or somethin?
  10. nice item. too bad hes(she) in canada. no newegg
  11. cant u move the Pagefile to the drive without the OS? Then reboot, and try to it again.... and when its laggy, check the taskManager (ctrl-alt-del) to see how much r u actually using.... it shouldnt be beyond 1Gb if the Sleep/Hybernate stuff is released properly...
  12. i dont think its the RAM nor the CPU. If ur 100% windows is fine, then the last answer is PSU... If u dontwanna use ur DigitalMulti (if ur not sure how, then dont, that highvoltage stuff...), then another PSU to try would be great. i simply dont think windows is capable of shutting down the PC completely. Hang? for sure. BSOD? often. Standby/sleep? rare, but sure. Shutsdown? Nope.... either PSU or ur motherboard...
  13. updated with pics. more to come throughout the weekend
  14. are u bloody f**kin serious?? no EB games in the US sells PC Games anymore??? holey crap, where do u get ur games from? BestBuy?? LMAO....
  15. sure.... more newegg stuff... without Canada........................
  16. Yes, back in BETA2 tho'... used my old PATA-133 Maxtor 40Gb, but again, that's the only drive connected.... Its only with this retail OEM Ultimate that i tried to install it on RAID and unless its the bootable it wont go... i just updated the post again on the driver version n stuff... will post more pics later on... Slightly more updates is the Windows Photo Gallery screwed up on the colour profiles n it sucks. stil lookin for answers on that one...
  17. neat........ Maybe DFI wanna buy a *family* license of momma, AG, and their 1000+ children?
  18. oh jeezus that thing is huge lol reading the nexus review now......... looks promising.... *sigh* i just bought 9700...
  19. EB Games where i live still have lots of PC games....
  20. nice ur signature might help if we can tell what kind of hardware ur using wit the X64 im updating the installation part of the first post, altho no pics until probably the afternoon...
  21. I used Nero7 Ultra, but CloneCD will works too... but u cant just copy all files to a folder, create a bootable ISO and plop everything inside...
  22. exactly! BUT, now ive worked on the networking part of it for abit... meh... its ever-so-SLIGHTLY dumb down from XP... yes, its easier to set up shared files, and sharing media now has its own folder... if ur connecting to another Vista! i got an XP Pro on my HTPC, its cute how u share ur folder on vista n it gives u a link/email that u can use on the other pc n stuff... and a little here n there on workgroups and connection options, but its not THAT much of a break-through... its more-less a slightly more sophisticated XP networking....
  23. heh i posted that here before luv that website... i got all my 1680x1050 wallpaper from there... beautiful!
  24. hmm i just got the "activate as soon as its online" option during install. the rest is hidden in the background. definitely no screen that lets me choose which version to install, not even x86/x64. i think the OEM is just limited to the version and x86 OR x64. @Sgarv1, "ANOTHER" copy??? well wit the upgrade, there's lotsa link outthere on how to do a clean install with it... but, um, dont forget ur signature too
