  1. another problem (related?) i am having over the last month is that i am having an extreme amount of trouble with my dlink wireless.

The network device will just disappear under the network connections tab.

Or when i start up the machine i dont even seen the network connector come up in the irqs.

A reboot usually solves these problems.

  2. Hey guys

havent posted in a long time.

Having trouble with my expert, hoping you can give some expert advice!

I havent been able to even narrow down this problem let alone solve it, and i know there are some masters here.

I have the dfi-expert and an opty 165.

using a OCZ Gxstream 700w psu.

I seem to have various issues with the board.

They seem to happen randomly, without pattern, so let me give you a rundown of the issues i seem to have

When i power my machine, these are my different outcomes.

    - computer doesnt post. 3red lights on the light readout on the board.

    - computer boots but says the device settings have changed. unable to select f1 or del from the keyboard. (keyboard lights up, but not responsive, doesnt matter if i unplug and replug it in.)

    - computer boots and gets past the windows screen and sits black.

    - computer boots into windows but the mouse and keyboard are unresponsive.

    - computer boots into windows and works fine. ( this will work as long as i need it to, but if i leave it overnight, i will come back to a blank unresponsive screen.

When i start up my computer, it usually takes a few tries to get it up and going.

Ive had and fixed more than my share of problems, but this one has me stumped.

ps i dont have the pc o/cd at all sitting at its norm of 1.8

  3. i dont think its a capacitor, because its small, and i know what a capacitor is, and that theyre soldered on, this isnt soldered on

and on the board now are two metal fins where it would have pushed on, like it got popped off.

any ideas what this is and controls?

right near the top of the board, where the top screw screws in your mobo tray.

  4. have decided to move off my asus board and my mobile and am looking at the 250gb dfi lp board

my question is what chip should i be looking at for a nice overclock? from what im reading they all do ok is there one i should keeping an eye out for?

  5. on a mobile 2500 and i want to push it further than the lousy 2.4 im at :)

but for the right deal i could be pursuaded to go 754

located in windsor, canada but i have a US address i can ship to

dont really need accessories but list what you have, thanks.

  6. im trying to determine the performance of a well overclocked nf2 board compared to an entry level socket 754 or 939 board

every link comparing and contrasting processors brings me to the same conclusion

yes, i realize the 3200 at stock speeds is gross compared to our newer 64 chips

heres how i currently stack up for parts.

    Lian Leezy For Sheezy PC60

    Koolance Watercooling

    Asus A7N8X

AMD Athlon XP Mobile @ 2.466ghz

    160 gig WD

    Ati X850XT PE(pro mod)

    2GB Corsair XMS 3200XL

how much of a performance increase will i see moving to 754 or 939 from my current setup?

and can someone please explain the basic reasons 64bit chips are better from a gaming aspect? aside from running 64bit and futureproof im not getting it.

    thanks guys

  7. i have two 512 sticks of corsair value 3200 and a 512stick of pc3700hyperx

should i even attempt to oc this setup, or wait and get different ram? i have been offered 2 1gb sticks of ocz plat for my ram and ~100 and some bucks.

im just trying to squeeze performance out of this machine, so i dont need to upgrade.

is it worth putting time into this machine?

if i find a lan party board for a decent price, id look to pick it up

if i mix that with a x850xt pe and 2 gigs of ram, im sure ill be able to play bf2 quite well :)

im just looking for solutions or suggestions, thanks for the help so far guys

what si the dimmmod you speak of?

  8. hmmm :)

    no no offense taken

what settings would you suggest me looking for a gig of ram? like 2.5 and down?

will the timings make a huge choice if i went with say 2 sticks of 3-4-4-8 instead of a gig of say 2-3-2-5?

i was looking at the corsair like this

    or even this

  9. well i wouldnt say i am a newb, i know alot of random things, just not the ins and the outs of ocing the nf2.

why is the lower multi more desirable?

and would 10 x 240 be a good goal to try and achieve? if i can boot at 2.4 as is, i should be able to i would think.

if you had to reccomend a gig stick, what would you list as some of the best? the link you game is too expensive.
