  1. I bought a Buffalo Terastation 1 TB. NAS and I have not even opened it yet. After reading some opinions about it I am not sure if I even want to. Does anyone out there use one of these or have an opinion about large capacity redundant networked storage? I understand that the company Infrant offers better solutions then Buffalo. Thanks. -EJM
  2. I had the same problem with a whole bunch of EVGA 7900 gtx's. I've never had an issue with either one of my 7950's. RMA time I would say. --EJM
  3. The reason I asked is because it produced an error while gaming but it's priming just fine while using for web browsing and email etc. I obviously want to know if its truly 100% stable. I only have it set on priority 1. Weird. Thanks --EJM
  4. Is Sp2004 as good as Prime 95? Also is it possible that it could cause and error if I were gaming while priming? Thanks. --EJM
  5. Can I classy lady about a 165 that will only do 2.8 with 1.5 volts?? I really wanted 3 gz. but my load temp. is 50C. --EJM
  6. Well, I unpacked the 6.66 nvidia drivers and copied the sataraid files onto a floppy and it still didnt work. F it. I just have 2 160 gb hd's now without raid. From what i read it doesn't seem so wonderful anyway. It makes no sense that windows xp installation could not read the files that were right there on the floppy. Thanks Everyone. --ejm
  7. Sorry. I just got the other one yesterday. They are both Samsung spinpoint 160gb sata.
  8. SP 2. Professional. Im using the 6.66 drivers off of the nvivia site. I guess I could try the dfi ones. Thanks --EJM
  9. I managed to redo it again and when windows reboots and then trys to access the floppy its looking for nvatabus.sys it says it cannot find it even though its right there on the floppy. Please, Someone help. --EJM
  10. I tried it again and as soon as I pressed 's' and chose the first file on the floppy, Windows just took off and copied the rest of the system files without letting me chose the second driver from the floppy so when it got the the partition page it saw 2 drives instead of one volume. WTF? --EJM
  11. I had to skip all of the files because it said it could not find them and then windows copied the rest of the system files and when it re booted it blue screened. I erased the array and made it again so I can try it with the 6.66 drivers now. --EJM
  12. I just download the 6.66 drivers and im gonna try the drivers in the sataraid folder. Im just gonna cut the files out of the folder and save them on a floppy, I suppose instead of just the folder itself.
  13. I'm downloading the 6.66 drivers right now but it's an .exe file. How do I unpack it and extract the raid files to put onto a floppy?
  14. I just copied the nvidia folder onto a new floppy and i also cut the files inside of the folder and pasted them outside of the folder on the same floppy and im gonna try it now.
  15. I cut and pasted all of the files in the nvidia folder on the original floppy that came with the board and put them onto another freshly formatted floppy. It tries to access the floppy but still says that it cant find the first file nvraid.sys which is right on the floppy and its not inside a folder. WTF? The floppy is hooked up properly. Yes. --EJM
  16. I finally got it to format and partition the entire array but now it tries to access the floppy and it says that it cant find the nvraid driver and a whole bunch of other drivers. If i ignore them, windows will continue to install then when it reboots it will blue screen. --EJM
  17. I set the array up with the nvidia raid setup and it says it's one drive but windows will still not recognize it. Is raid 0 really so much faster then sata II ?? Thanks --EJM
  18. Screw it. I just read a huge article saying that raid 0 isn't really all that great unless you have a specific reason for it and the failure rate is doubled. It says raid 5 is better or raid 1 for the redundancy. --EJM
  19. I read the tutorial and I did all of the steps. I loaded both of the drivers off of the floppy in the correct order and then windows say that it cannot find any disk drives attached to my computer. I tried to install the second driver on the floppy first and then it wont let me install the first one listed. Windows continues installing and then it will list each of the hard drives as seperate drives. I'm trying to set up 2 sata drives in raid 0. I've tried to do them on the sil controller and it is worse. I'm pretty sure it blue screens. I've been trying to do this for two days now and I haven't gotten anywhere. I just want to a clean install of windows xp on a 2 disk raid 0 array. How do I wipe the mbr of each drive?? I havent tried to do that. Also, I'm using an old ide cd-rom to install windows on the pri. ide. so I dont think it interfering with the sata drives. Help! Please! Thank You --EJM My post from last night was when I was trying to do all of this without a floppy so I went out today and bought an internal one. Also, How do I get the latest nvidia raid drivers onto a floppy. I heard that the 6.66 raid drivers are the ones to get but I thought you install them from windows.

  21. The board works fine with the pc power and cooling psu ever since it was 'fixed'. I think something was wrong with it when I was having those issues with the 1 kw psu. It works with all of the mobo plugs plugged in. Now all I need to do is get that damn raid 0 working, but thats another story. They said that they replaced the nf4 chip and did some work on the pwm circuitry. I wonder why the board was still working before the repairs and causing those problems with that psu?? At least when it went, it took out my SD 3700 and not my x2-4800 or my new opteron 165 with the killer stepping. The mystery continues. --EJM
  22. I tried to incorporate just the one folder named 'silicon' and it still did not work. POS. I guess I will go out on labor day and try to find a regular floppy drive to use to install raid 0 sata. I cant believe we still use floppys. I haven't used one for years. Thank You for your suggestion. --ejm
  23. I think I found it. It's in the folder named 'silicon'. The header on the file says silicon image sata raid driver. I assume thats correct. I tried to integrate all of the drivers from the floppy and it didnt work, like you said. I did it before I read your reply. Thank You. I'm trying to integrate just that one. --ejm
  24. I see a lot of different .inf files in those 3 folders on the floppy, BTW.
