  1. Ok so im starting my first build today/right now, and I just put in my I/O template and noticed it has all these little tabs on the back that jut out and look like they would get in the way. Am I supposed to bend these back or rip them off to get them out of the way?? Also I've read alot of warnings that say your motherboard should not touch the metal back of your case, I have a slide out mobo tray and am wondering how to situate the motherboard on it and am worried its not supposed to touch the metal of the tray...
  2. Ok so sounds like it will work then? this stuff really confuses me...just when I think I understand it gets 100x more complicated!! Im really new at this but im trying to learn as much as i can so thanks for bearing with me.
  3. yeah I did look at it, it even mentioned my psu in it even though its 20+4-pin, and some of those on the list are 20+4-pin so im confused on why they are listed if dfi doesnt support them???
  4. Ok I just got all the parts for my computer and realizing I should have done further research on my PSU... I have been reading that you need a NATIVE 24-pin psu connector. The psu I have has 20+4-Pin and have read that it wont be effective. Here is a link to my psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817103937 can anyone tell me if this will work or not because im still unsure and need to know before I put it all together and it fries my mobo. I have seen that most people got the ocz modstream which looks like it has a 20+4-pin also
  5. Wait so a 20+4-Pin connector will not work in the nF4 Ultra-D??? because I just got a psu that has a 20+4-Pin connector (haven't built the computer yet)
  6. Ok so I just got all my components and am starting my first build, so I opened up the motherboard box and found a disk... that reads the following on it... SATA RAID Driver Disk nVIDIA nF4 Silicon Image 3114 Rev.1.0 and of course I have no disk drive! So my question is, does this disk have anything to do with the BIOS because it also came with a CD... I just figured this disk is for configuring 2 harddrives. So am I going to need this disk at all if I dont plan to use 2 harddrives in RAID? If someone could clarify this that would be great, thanks
  7. Ok well I have also read that unless your doing RAID 0 and its kinda pointless to get just 1 of these 10krpm hd's (is that true). and does the dfi nf4 lanparty ultra-d support a sata 150? because it doesnt look like it.. it just has ATA 133 and SATA II
  8. Ive seen that alot of gamers will go with a 10krpm hd but does that make a big difference in gaming and such? it could write files and read files faster but im just trying to think how that would REALLY benefit a gamer? because I could go with a HD thats much larger but is just a little slower... maybe someone can enlighten me?

So also let me know if i can find cheaper better parts to get more bang for my buck this system above is about 1,900$ as it stands. I can go a little higher but not too much, thx for your time!
  10. so is this DFI NF4 LanParty Ultra-D motherboard user friendly for beginners or will I have to do alot of troubleshooting? I have read many reviews saying that its not for beginners because DFI boards are very picky on components
  11. Hi im fairly new to building computers and have been having a horrible time picking out a good motherboard. I have been looking at the LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR, but upon further review i was thinking maybe this board goes beyond my needs...here are the components I will most likely buy... Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-500 500W Power Supply AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor XFX PVT70GUDF7 Geforce 7800GT Video Card Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Platinum System Memory I will not be running 2 video cards now and probably wont down the road, though I am looking to do some gaming on this computer. Also I will probably not be doing much overclocking. So if anyone could tell me which of these boards would best suite me or if I should look elsewhere...I have been considering the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. But from what Ive read DFI has great features and is the place to go if your looking to do some gaming.
