  1. Nope, no overclocking yet. Work and the holidays have been nutty this year - I haven't even played games on this rig yet (aside from 5 minutes of FarCry and a couple 3dm5 runs).
  2. Holy COW!!!! This on a 480 NB on the Sapphire board here: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/PI-A9RD480/15 That's INSANE and I'm no longer overly concerned with my 52 C temps.
  3. I put a vantec copper orb on it with AS5 and it isn't hot to the touch when it reads well over 50 C.
  4. What if you used a different x1800xt cooler on the card to the right of the NB? One could put a Zalman or a water block on and clear the area up substantially.
  5. This is only true for certain distributions. Certainly the standard XP Pro SP2 recognizes both CPUs out of the box with no changes.
  6. The only problem I have is that I lock on trying to wake the computer from a screensaver or monitor shutdown (computer is not hibernating).
  7. Hmm...with that installed and CnQ set to "Auto" all I have to do is go to the power control panel and set "minimal power management" and my voltages and temps drop...
  8. Both. Also, that graphics card needs a plug too.

  10. Sounds like you're only running on one core. I get 19.7k ALU on my 4400 X2 with no overclock at all. If you open task manager (ctl-alt-del then click on performance tab) do you see both processors there?
  11. Looks like this enabled Cool n quiet for X2s - nice but Steam crashes!
  12. I'm not clear on what you mean here? Can you explain?
  13. AS5 didn't help...copper vantec didn't help (actually a little worse!!). This is why I'm thinking about the Swiftech! Maybe the temps aren't that much to worry about (ATI's X1800XT doesn't kick up it's fan till it his 70 C) but it still scares me!
  14. Who thinks this cooler will fit on the RDX200 north bridge with an X1800-XT in the PCI-E slot closest to the CPU? Am I crazy?
