I followed the guide posted by Angry on reseating my chipset fan to the letter. Before reseating fan: ~68-70C gaming; 50-51C idle After reseating fan: ~63-65C gaming; 48-49C idle I also have a 92mm Zalman fan pointed over the chipset/video cards to keep air from stagnating over the chipset. So I have found some improvement, but not what I was looking for. I was aiming to get stress temps into 40's, which is where I suspect they should lie. What do you think? The Evercool fan mentioned in the mod forum as a replacement isn't available anywhere that I can find in the US. Frustrating.
I'm one of many experiencing crazy high temps on my chipset with my system configured with 2 7800 GTX cards in SLI mode. I'm getting close to 70C during gaming, and sit at >50C at idle. Very frustrating. I tried mounting a Zalman 92mm fan aimed over the video cards/chipset to improve air movement, but only reduced temps minimally. So I want to fix the chipset fan. I'd prefer to find a superior 3rd party solution. Does anyone know of any 3rd party fans that fit the Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR with no modding necessary? I don't own a dremel and have no desire to buy one. Please help! Thanks.
