  1. Not worried as such just want to get the best out of my rig. I only asked the question as I'm new to the dual core seen and didnt know if the 4 or 8 pin power connector made a difference. I can get 3159 @ 1.5 volts but run into heat problems. Water cooling on its way
  2. Does anyone know if the Ultra-D is ok for overclocking a FX-60 or any other dual core for that matter?? My Fx-60 is running fine @3gb (250x12) but if I go 1 fsb higher i get the BSOD saying core 2 failed to report in time. I tried upping the volts but had no joy. Also my temp read:- Core 1 = 47c Core 2 = 36c The Ultra-D only has a 4 pin power connector for the CPU (EPS I think its called) whereas the NF4 Expert has the 8 pin connector. My power supply has 2x 4pin labled CPU1 and CPU2. Is the failing in overclocking due to the lack of power to the second core?? The temps would seem to show this but does any one have an answer?? Thanks Phil
  3. myndreach: The drivers should work with vista 32. It makes me so mad when companies dont give full support over their products. Ok, so vista is a new OS but a mate of mine has the new Nvidia 680i chipset and all the drivers work and more importantly install themselves. After all the 939/nforce 4 chipset is not all that old and most people I think will still be using it. Is this just another way of making us spend more money because of lack of support???
  4. I have got these drivers to work by updating the "ATA channel 0 and 1" to an IDE driver. The only thing I'm suck with is I cant get my drives to run DMA mode and I'm suck with PIO mode for now. This might help explain why your raid is slower than what you are used too. PIO mode is shocking for performance
  5. Thanks I done what you said and everything is installed as it should...well almost... Sata 1.5 and 3g drivers installed and working fine but it has defaulted my drivers to PIO mode and there is no DMA to switch it to. Is it me or is there a lack interest on Nvidia part when it comes to Vista drivers?? Have you found a way to sort the PIO/DMA mode out??
  6. Do you know of a way to override the vista drivers with the Nvidia ones?? And maybe more to the point...Is there any nvidia drivers for SATA?
  7. Hi guys... Can anyone help with SATA drivers for vista 64?? If I go in to the device manage and look under the IDE ATA tab my 2 raptors are running in ultraDMA mode 4 and my Maxtor in mode 6. I can not select 1.5g (sata 1) or 3g(sata 2) like I could in XP. I get very poor tranfer rates (around 30mb/s at best). I have the latest nvidia driver (verson 15 i thik it is) but unlike when I install ot on XP it doesn't have to Sata drivers.... Can someone please help??
  8. Thanks for the reply. The jumper is on the second set of pins which should give me 4 volts. The jumper has been their for over 6 months and I have always been able to set the Dram volts to 3.4 but now only 3.2
  9. Hi Guys, Something odd has happened to my Dram settings in the BIOS. I normally use 3.3volts with my OCZ ram, the other day my system locked up a few times and I got the BSOD screen more times than I care to remember. I went into the bios and found that the DRAM volts was set to 2.5. But when I went to change it the highest setting was 3.2. Before it went up to 4 volts. How? but more importantly why cant I go above 3.2 volts? Please any help would be great. Thanks Phil

  11. Great job....It all works !!!! Man why does it have to be so hard??? Still thanks for all your help.. Phil
  12. Yeah thats the odd thing, in the set up all the speakers work. Yet if I listen to music, watch a DVD or play a game no center speaker. I have used or sorts of programs to watch a dvd and all the setting are set to 5.1. One of the programs I have used (cant think which one, tired so many) even put an icon saying 6 channel audio ( which I guessing is 5.1). I have gone back to the realtek drivers and the center speaker works but all the speakers play the same sound. What am I doing wrong  Note. The pro logic thing I was talking about in an earlier post was from a mate of mine who has a Nforce2 system and in the NVmixer it has a check box for Pro Logic.
  13. Just gone back to NVMixer and done the regedit thing but still no centre speaker.... I just read on the net there should be a pro logic button but I cant see one. Please HELP its driving me mad.
  14. If I tick clone to get the rear speakers working wouldn't that be the same as I have now?No front to rear spilt, just 2 left and 2 right with a center speaker?
  15. Hi, I have always used 5.1 surround sound but have never got it to work right. I used to use a Sony home cinema kit connected via the S/PDIF and set to Digital output. I used to get 5.1 when watching a DVD and in some games but it wasn't very good (sounded alot better when connected to DVD player). So I got some Creative 6060 5.1 speakers thinking that buying speakers that where meant to be used with a pc might help. Guess what it didn't....... I now only get 2 channel sound plus the centre speaker. I have no front to rear spilt. (just left to right). I have checked all the connections and they are in the right places. I have also got everyany set to 5.1 in Windows. My mate has the same speakers but on a different mobo and his works fine. What the hell am I doing wrong???? PLease help, Phil
