  1. ...if the HDD is the only device on the IDE cable you need to remove the jumper...it's a Western Digital thing...covered in Angry_Games sticky thread Important Info (non-critical) - updated 1/07/2006 (post #22) ... ...is it?..
  2. ...to change the color... ...I don't think exact voltage is that important...I swapped in an LED without problem...
  3. :tooth: ...let me kick you while you're down... ...this is the wrong forum for what you're describing...
  4. ...QFT... ...uh, I'd start traditional troubleshooting, you know, motherboard-CPU-one stick of RAM and vidcard...
  5. ...I've experienced that...the computer was connected to a KVM switch and I had failed to disable Wake On keyboard and mouse...
  6. ...this is telling...
  7. ...doesn't that defeat the purpose?.. ...sure...I've dealt with him...I think there's someone here who provides this service also, don't mean to step on his toes...
  8. ...keep reading until your parts arrive and you're set to build...don't let all the problems in the forums make you panic...I did, but everything went smooth as butter...follow the routine with a minimal build outside of the case, test your memory and don't get ahead of yourself...
  9. ...you never mentioned clearing CMOS after the flash...that's SOP...then set optimized defaults and Save and Exit, see how it goes...then tweak your BIOS settings to suit you and Save and Exit... ...6/23/05 BIOS is good for your X2... ...if you solved a problem swapping the PSU, and now you have an identical problem, why don't you think it could be the same thing?.. ...and this...STOP IT!!! I couldn't even turn my pc on. (**Side note, if I tip my pc slightly up to the right and let it rock back down slightly to the left while pushing the power, it would help like turn it on...) :shake:
  10. ...yeah, first build is a gas...my problem was the PSU...there was no voltage selector switch on the back...I had the vendor's support guy going until he found out it was auto-sensing... ...the difference is that I had the question before I started building...
  11. ...???...what and where?... ...you need to use stanoffs to support the motherboard...
  12. ...turn the lever until it locks down...it takes some strength...
  13. ...you don't explicitly say if you've tried another vidcard... ...what about the monitor?.. ...powering off Windows frequently is no good...you can do it blind...Windows key > U > U to shut down, Windows key > U > R to restart...
  14. ...pluckin' tha six-string... ...pullin' jumpers... ...pullin' the BIOS chip if ya get a bad flash ...
