  1. Hey guys I was wondering if I could get some help getting 6-channel out of my ultra-d. I connect it analoguely. However, in realtek, when i click auto-test after choosing 5.1speaker, I mainly hear the front 2 speakers only. I've tried the oldest driver to the latest realtek ones, and even nvidia's nforce audio driver. All yield the same results... 2channel. Whats going on. In my memory, over a year ago it worked! I'm pretty sure I'm on the same bios then also... Thanks!
  2. Hey guys I have a dfi ultra-d. The iceberq4 died on me so I just swap an evercool in... I may have glazed the mobo a lil when the pliers slip... Nothing was wrong after I booted the pc up other than the weird chattering noise the speakers made on startup. The PC worked over a mth till now it is still working. Today I tried getting the onboard sound to work coz I wanted to try playing a 5.1movie but, wrong sounds were coming out through the channels so I tried to enter bios to see if anything could be done. I plugged in a regular keyboard (instead of the BT one I use) and realise no power is going to the keyboard! When i finally got the BT keyboard to work during startup, i press DEL to enter bios and it took a long time to enter and the screen loaded part by part... In Bios I can't move anything, like its frozen. And worst of all the speaker kept emiting the chattering noise throughout the ordeal. Did I scratched something I shouldn't have? The PC works find otherwise... no bluescreen nothing... Please HELP ME  Thanks!

  5. haha confirmed my doubts thanks alot..... may i ask, did you recommend G.Skill coz its better than corsair or because it is cheap? thanks! edit: also, which exact model of g.skill are you recommending?
  6. hey guys currently running the TWINX1024-3200 XMS3200 1024MB 3-3-3-8 found TWINX1024-3200C2PT XMS3200 1024MB 2-3-3-6 for sale... was thinkin if the ultra-D will support different timings? or do i need identical rams for all? also, even if i manage to find identical rams later on, will using 4 slots work on the ultra-D with my current bios? i remember reading around about problems running all 4 ram slots before... thanks!
  7. hmmm i guess i'll have to dremel it then... will try when the as5 arrive... btw, where can i get isopropyl? i know acetone is from nail polish... can i just use scentless nailpolish? my fren's doesn't write the ingredients there... and i've no use for a whole bottle of nail polish... heh heh thanks
  8. hey guys, i'm never particular about my temperature until recently i started taking a look at smartguardian. i realised my chipset is running at 49-50C on idle!!! few mths back i changed the chipset fan as it died. got a vantec iceberq4 because the evercool was out of stock. i installed it quite lousily, for one because the 2nd plastic pin didn't go in completely (however, from how i see it, the heatsink is sitting on the chip properly, just that the 2nd clip can't fully clip behind the board). 2ndly, i didn't use AS5, just the TC that came with the vantec. i don't think 50C on idle is NORMAL at all right? so what can the matter be? i just ordered the AS5... so definately i'm going to try refit the fan again. anyone with links to how to fit a vantec iceberq4 properly? mine definately had fitting problems... can there be any reason why the temp is so high? the cpu is at 38C and the other temp figure is 48C... room temp is about 27C. chipset fan running at 5000+rpm (max) and CPU fan is running at 4000+rpm. thanks...
  9. just received my pctoys fan controller today. using 2 ports to control the noisy vantec casing fans and 2 are reserved for the CPU and chipset fan; which most of you guys suggest running from a fan controller instead of from the mobo. i know how to plug the 2 fans to the controller, but how do i connect it back to the mobo so i can read what rpm are the fans running at? i remember seeing a diagram around somewhere but i can't seem to find it after a long search. thanks for the help guys.
  10. hmmmm i already got the fans vantec something... not as quiet as i would've hoped! anyway, thanks. i guess i'll just go with a 5.25" bay fan controller. over and out.
  11. hey guys i'm running the ultra-D. i know bout speedfan and smartguardian etc. however i notice they control CPU fan, fan 2, chipset fan. there are sockets for fan4 and fan5, but no software to control it. anyone knows how i can get to it? wanna save some cash instead of getting a fan controller. neater too. cheers
  12. phew.. i changed the ram to the yellow slots and set all settings to stock it started... i tried reloading the cmos settings to the ones i previously used, same thing can't boot up again. is this bios less forgiving compared to the older ones? i'll play around when i have time. but 1 thing about this bios. it is much more stable than the one i used previously. i flashed to this new bios because prior to flashing, my windows couldn't startup. keep getting blue screen. after flashing, windows start fine!! kudos!
  13. hey... i flashed my ultra-d with this bios and now it wouldn't start. once i power up the power LED just keeps blinking and the buzzer goes toot-toot-toot. previously i was using 623-3 bios... my rams are corsair XMS3200 total of 1gb both in orange slot. anyone knows whats wrong? i seriously need help here... *sigh* thanks...
