  1. OC Newbie... YOU ARE AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN. Your tips allowed me to boot into safe mode and revive my PC. I thank you, my PC thanks you, and my girlfriend thanks you!!!!!
  2. Something is causing my gaming computer major problems. A driver or game demo is causing the BSOD on my computer. The only problem is that the BSOD flashes in the background while trying to load Windows. As a result, I can't see what the problem is and how to fix it. Does anyone know how to stop it from flashing long enough so I can take the appropriate actiion? Is there a way to boot in Safe Mode?
  3. If you try to download ERD commander from the PC World sie, you get a page not found on the parent site.
  4. I'm looking for a copy of the download version of ERD commander. I've googled ERD commander and can't find it anywhere. If you have any tips on how to use it, that would be great. Thanks! John
  5. Ivan, I have two Raptors in a RAID 0 configuration. Is what you're suggesting possible? Assuming the demo is the culprit, is there a way to remove it without going into Windows?
  6. Something very strange happened last night and I don't what to do about and I could use some advice. Otherwise, I'll probably have to reinstall WXP. While starting up the demo to El Matador, I was trying to jump to the desktop by pushing the Windows? button on the keyboard. After several times, my PC stopped responding and I tried to reboot. Upon rebooting, it progressed through the screens and then restarted the process over again, never able to get to the desktop. After a few times, I started to notice the blue screen of death quickly appearing in the background. I ended up clearing the CMOS and now I see the DFI splash screen and a message stating that it could not load the operating system. I am never able to get to the screen where I press delete to access the BIOS. I've had this machine, with the same configuration, for over a year without any issues. All of my save games, photos, and other documents are on it and I would hate to have to reformat it. Please help if you can!
  7. According to guru3d.com, Nvidia released a new version of the Ntune software. It's version 3.00.14.05 and was wondering if anyone was bold enough to install it and see if the new changes resolves alot of the issues that are being reported with DFI boards. I checked the Nvidia website and couldn't find the new release, however, I find guru3d.com pretty reliable and thought I would post the news. You can find the download page on guru3d.com.
  8. Sharp, Great post! I have one question and that is, "Why do you suggest not installing the IDE SW driver?" I been installing everything except the firewall/network access manager software and everything "appears" to be fine. Would I notice any improve performance?
  9. Make sure all power connectors are plugged in and check your hard drives with software available from Western Digital. One of my Raptors were bad and I wasted hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my new machine. Luckily Angry Games suggested I check the hard drives and that was the problem. Once I got a replacement all was fine.
  10. I'm no expert, however, if you haven't already, you need to make sure that you use the tweezer type tool to change the vga jumpers to SLI mode. There are two rows of them under the video cards. Look at the manual for more details. Without this change, SLI will not work correctly.
  11. I applied the MS Hotfix WITHOUT the X2 driver and I noticed a difference immediately with the King Kong demo. Before the hotfix, the game was speeding up and I have to change the affinity to one CPU. Now it runs smooth without changing the affinity.
  12. I knew about NTune and the Firewall, however, I didn't know about the IDE drivers. What about the SMI Bus drivers? WIll removing any of these have any effect on my Nvidia RAID?
  13. I have a X2 4400+ and I don't have the X2 driver installed. For the most part, I haven't been having any problems playing Far-Cry or HL2. I did run into the issue with the King Kong demo. I fixed it by changing my affinity to one core. Questions: In order for the MS patch to work, do I need to the have the X2 driver installed AND do I need to have CnQ activated?
  14. I installed the 81.84 last night after I first posted the thread. At first I had a hard time removing the old drivers. For some reason it seemed to remove the other Nvidia drivers also. I had to reinstall the Nforce drivers and then the Forceware drivers. Finally I was able to get everything working and my 3d and Aqua scores as high as the original post. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm still getting great scores with the new driver so it's staying.
  15. I just installed the latest beta Forceware 81.82 drivers off guru3d.com. This driver is suppose to fix several performance issues with GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs. After I installed them, my 3dMark05 score went from 11,007 to 12,551! Check it out at Nvidia 81.82 driver link P.S. My AquaMark05 score went from 84,394 to 102,066!!!!
