  1. If you want my opinion I don't think he tested any of these two boards, why I know that ? ok look at the picture of the asus board which he claims, quote"I picked up an Asus A8N SLI-Premium board " now does this board in the photo looks like the premium version? NOT this is the delux version premium has the heat pipe cooler on the chipset.

So in conclusion he's full of ^%$#, he did not even test the boards

  2. Apologies for high-jacking :) , but how do you ensure that the overclock is the same for both cards?

I can only find one place in nVidia where you can adjust clock and memory speed, so I assumed that this would equally overclock both cards. I now suspect that I was wrong  .

If you could let me know how this is done (i.e. equal overclocks) or point me in the direction of this info, I'd really appreciate it.

    tia

    ricey

There is only that one adjustment, for both cards, you can't do them seperatly.

  3. vindicare try this for the hell of it cause this how my set up is:

    in bios

    enable USB mouse

    diable keyboard mouse,

    keep USB at 1.1/2.0

Now use your adaptor (usb-Ps2) for the keyboard and plug it via PS2

    PLug your mouse via USB

just a little caution sometimes when rushing you might plug the keyboard in the mouse PS2 don't do that :)

try it and see if that works.

  4. it seems that the dfi has a problem with the PS2 connector , my mouse was stopping intermettingly using the (USB to Ps2) adaptor tried two different mice same problem, light is on cursor freezes mouse do not respond, sometimes it comes back on it's own, not acceptable for me.

I like to use Ps2 for sample rates in gaming, but I gave up and I plugged it straight into a usb and it's working fine now.

just make sure you have all your drivers installed including USB 2.0, turn on USB mouse in bios and don't use the Ps2 dongle just go straight USB.

BTW I have the MX510, so it should be similar case.

    Good luck

  5. guys your center speaker is working , matchstickrobot that long beep you hear from NVmixer indicates that it works, the problem is that your source has to be 6 channel in order to get sound out of the center speaker, I went crazy at first until I ran into this wave file from microsoft :

    http://www.tsp.ece.mcgill.ca/MMSP/Document..._Channel_ID.wav

listen to this file in order to determin if your center is working or not.

  6. I just got those memory today and I pretty much set everything to auto, I got you the results readings from " A64 tweaker", voltage at stock 2.6 hope this helps:

Although my processor is different then yours , see if this helps, however I just ran only one pass on memtest, I will be doing an over night tonight hopefully, but no errors there and I ran a few benchy's with no problems thus far.

  7. fed ex just delivered the 2gb OCZ platinum, they are sweet , I'm running them at stock timing right now and they are screaming as good or better then theOCZ (2x512)pc-4000 VX gold that I had in there. Sandra scored about 20 point higher.

I am so glad I made the switch, I will be watching this thread (me watch angry) to see what's the best he can do with them :)

  8. xguy. I love you and the internet, for the fact that we can share our experiences with people who have nearly identical hardware(-1 7800gtx :D). I'm now flying with the 6-23 bios.

I think it should be very clear that dual core folks NEED 6/23 or higher. I had 6/18, and those 5 days of DFI working made a 10 fold difference in problems solved.

    <--one happy camper.

Hehe , I'm glad you're happy with the result, thanks to the good folks at this forum, I was just returning the favor.

  9. Will try that, I just ran memtest, it was fine. 200mhz at 2-2-2-5, all passed.

Hopefully the bios flash will work, otherwise i will cry myself to sleep, hehe. BTW, nice rig you go there xguy.

it will work trust me :) I had the same exact issue memtest ran like a champ everything was fine except memory benchies were awfull in both sisoft and aida, I listen to the good guys here and bam , right after I flashed, perfromance jumped from 1600/1700 in sisoft to 5600/5700.

  10. At this time my CPU is 44°C at idle and seemed to top out at 66°C when I put it at full load. I have the most recent 6/23 bios installed and my memory runs fine at 200 mhz which is what it is at now, and even all the way up to 240 mhz, though I don't run it at that constantly.

Currently I just use the thermal "grease" which came with the Zalman cooler, should I be using something else?

What V Core should i be running, I think i have it at 1.45V right now.

I think your V core is a little high I have mine set this wayin bios:

CPU VID start up value 1.40V

    CPU VID Control 1.3V

CPU VID Speciel contr above VID 104%

    LDT Voltage control 1.30V

try those settings they may help your temps, I don't overclock so I'm happy with it that way.

  11. I have the 4400 X2 and MBM5 reads 33C idle and 41C load, haven't seen it go beyond 41C yet. 60C and 70C is way too high , I think thoser X2 are rated at 65C, check your heatsink, thermal paste, and like angry said maybe bios problem ? I had a problem with my mermory bandwidth running way below specs and the good fellas in this forum directed me to update the bios and everything has been so swet so far. BTW my bios is 623-3
