  1. With stock timings, I essentially pass everything (Prime95, OCCT, SuperPI 32m, 3Dmark05, etc) Ive got the vdimm at 2.8v (rated to handle up to 2.8V without invalidating the OCZ Lifetime Warranty) any thoughts?
  2. Getting my system dialed in with new ram, and when running memtest86 test #5, it runs fine thru 98% of the first pass, then I get lots of errors. Any suggestions? Ive tried tweaking, but nothing seems to make a difference.
  3. I just replaced my old 1Gb Corsair ram (TCCD) with 2Gb of OCZ platinum 2x1024 dual channel (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K) Prior to this, my system was running flawlessly with a decent overclock at 2.8Ghz on a SanDiego 4000+ and an NF4 Ultra-D board. I've been playing with settings and having a difficult time getting things stable. Any suggestions as far as timings/settings/BIOS/Slots, etc? Any and all input would be very welcome. -also, how far should I expect to o'clock this ram? I would hope to keep my mult at 12x234 and 1:1
  4. Okay, ordered the OCZ kit mentioned above. Any thoughts as to which BIOS to use? -also which slots? thx
  5. thanks -i just bought the exact same kit (same part #, same timings, etc) from newegg a few weeks ago when i built this box. -so i would think that it should be the same stuff... Otherwise, what do you think about this OCZ stuff?
  6. Thanks, Angry -I'll give it a shot. Though it took some time to get my settings stable, I haven't had any issue with Corsair ram in this board. However, I would feel quite frustrated if I bought the additional sticks and started to see problems... I'm probably being over-cautious. I'll catch them while they're still available Cheers
  7. Now that I have everything dialed in and working on my new AMD system, Im considering additional ram. I can pick up another 1gb of the same stuff im presently using (CORSAIR TWINX1024-3200XLPT TCCD -2 x 512MB) for cheap on NewEgg. My questions are 1. Are there really compatability issues with adding ram to the other two slots? 2. How much will it affect my settings/timings? 3. Are the benefits worth the trouble? Any feedback would be most welcome!
  8. After setting my TCCD sticks to DDR600 speeds (2.5-4-3-6, 2.7v) I can pass 24hrs of Prime95, 32M of SuperPI and 30min of OCCT. However ...... I cant even pass one test #8 in MemTest86?? any thoughts on that? Can anyone tell memore about test #8? I would love to find out which setting affects this. I feel like im very close, and almost there. thanks for any help! eric
  9. Thanks to everyone for all of your helpful advice. It looks like i'm running stable at 305HTT x9.5, with my Sandy 4000+ -TCCD is also doing great at 2.5-3-4-6, 2.7v -I think that this will be the max for me. Interestingly, my SP-90 keeps the processor running at 39C idle and 42C load. Overall, im happy. Cheers.
  10. Thanks again for your suggestions. It looks like i'm running stable at 305HTT x9.5, with my Sandy 4000+ -TCCD is also doing great at 2.5-3-4-6, 2.7v -I think that this will be the max for me. 11. Okay, Thanks to some helpful resources on here, im up and running with my new San Diego rig. (78,000 on Aquamark, first try at stock speeds) Now for the fun. Im ready to begin overclocking. Any suggestions from experienced users would be very appreciated. I have no experience with A64s, and the BIOS on my NF4 Ultra-D is intimidating to say the least. What specific settings should I start tweaking? Also, what about voltage, etc? Thanks for anyone taking the time to read this
  12. Masi, care to share some of your settings? Im still having problems. what is your vdimm? what other settings are you running? Thanks again for any help!
  13. Thanks, Masi! Its a relief to hear that I didnt screw up with my hardware choices! -now for the tedious part. I was looking at the link for the BIOS that you posted. Now there are a few newer versions (618) -would you try those, or stick with 510? Also, since our corsair sticks are TCCD, wouldnt 510-1 be more applicable? The bottom of the page reads: (* -3 for both kinds of rams (310 ram table), -1 for TCCD etc. (326 ram table), -2 for BH5/CH5 etc. (316 ram table)) thanks again for your help!
  14. Earlier this week, I bought a Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D board, San Diego 4000 processor, and a gig of Corsair TCCD ram (twinx 3200XLPT). Now the fun part. Im unable to get the system stable enough to install XP. In fact, I cant even get 20min of Memtest86 to complete. I've played around with the ram settings (latest bios, etc) But I dont know enough about what im doing. Also, I have made sure that all of the power connetors are in place, etc. (sticks of ram are in slots 2 and 4) I would love to simply get a stable install at stock settings before oclocking. Any thoughts? The advertised timings for the ram are 2-2-2-5 any help would be very appreciated
