  1. Thinking of replacing my single core with dual. What dual core CPU is the best value for money today? Thanks in advance!
  2. It was the memory - already shipped it to OCZ for replacemnt. Used another dual kit of OCZ PC4000 VX Gold to confirm - 32(!) hours prime95 in Blend Torture test - not a single error.
  3. With only 2 sticks of RAM (PC3200 OCZ VX Gold in orange slots set to 2.5-3-3-8, 3.2V, passed memtest86+) I istalled Win XP Pro x64 and 64 bit version of prime95. Prime95 FAILED Custom Torture Test. What to do next?
  4. What is MemTest for Windows? Yes, I have. I used 3 different HDDs (1 IDE and 2 SATA) - same results. Yes, most of them. It's enabled, but I am using built-in Marvel Gigabit Controller.
  5. My systems will not run 4x512MB with CPC, but without it I can run 48 hours with 2-2-2-6 and 3.2V. Now I am getting the same problems with FreeBSD with just 2 sticks (dual kit 2x512 2.5-3-3-8 3.2V). I will put Win XP Pro x32 back with just 2 sticks and try prime95 and 3dMark 3d benchmarks and post results here.
  6. I got the same problems with 2 sticks now - dual channel 2x512MB.
  7. Ok, before I re-install Windows I tried FreeBSD with 2.5-3-3-8 RAM settings and it didn't help. System crashed. I am quite sure it's not memory otherwise I'd get it with memtest. DFI Support, please advise what should I do next. TIA
  8. Maybe I don't understand something, but if there is a problem with memory I should've seen it by now in memtest86+, shouldn't I? I can run memtest86+ for like 48 hours on 4 sticks of RAM with 2-2-2-6 and 3.2V without any problem. I recently left 2 sticks (this is dual kit of OCZ VX Gold memory rated 2-3-3-8.) with 2-3-3-8 with 3.1V overnight and didn't get an error. So far I used and got problems in 3(!) somewhat different OS - Windows XP Pro SP2, Windows XP Pro x64 and FreeBSD. What should I do next? TIA
  9. Just install 64bit. I didn't need any drivers to run Win XP Pro x64 or FreeBSD for AMD64.
  10. Ok, still got a problem. With 2-3-3-8 and 3.1V passed memtest86+ w/o an error, however FreeBSD crashed again with trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode while executing ls -F -R / | grep dump Gonna try Windows now. Does it matter if it's XP Pro or XP Pro x64? TIA
  11. The settings I had were from OCZ support forum. I flashed with 623-3, set RAM to 2-3-3-8 with 2.6V. memtest86+ (from BIOS) gave me errors on Test7. I increased voltage to 3.1V and running another test. Are you saying it's because I have 4 sticks of memory?
  12. Hello, forum! I installed FreeBSD for AMD64. I tried to compile bash 2 times and my system crashed with FreeBSD's analog of BSOD. 1st time it was trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode, 2nd time it was vm_page_unwire: invalid count: 0. I had similar problems with Winodws XP Pro - that's the reason I decided to try FreeBSD and here I am again. I tend to beleive its not RAM's fault as I can run memtest86+ for house w/o an error. What do you think I need to RMA? Thanks in advance!
  13. You have to put your RAM in the same color slots for dual channel. Orange slots will work for sure. Yellow slots - not sure.
  14. Yes. The system worked for about 6 months. Yes.
  15. MemTest86+ shows my AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego as 1400 MHz when it has to be 2200 MHz. In BIOS in PC Health right after boot CPU temp is 85 degrees and climbing to 95 in less than a minute then the machine powers off. Is my CPU gone?
