  1. I think 3 years maybe 4.... I've slacked off lately actually my main rig wasn't even folding. I was going to shut it down though cause energy cost are getting so bad and my budget is broke. I am going to go around to all my work computers and get them back up though so I should increase my yields soon enough. Cheers
  2. haven't jawjacked with you'll for awhile thought I'd drop by a say whats up. I check the points every so often to make sure y'all aren't slacking off though!!!! Keep on Folding!!!
  3. Yeah I used to spend a lot of time checking and stuff...now I just don't have time too. Not that it takes a lot of time but most of my rigs are at work and I'm basically so busy all day at work I forget or don't even want to waste 5 or 10min. I did once try to set up a monitor system that worked over http, but I never got around to it. Now I don't even have time to set up the server and stuff so I just let them go. Sometimes they break I fix them eventually...I'm still keeping pretty good numbers...I now I have at least 3 or 4 machines down right now.
  4. Hey I missed two months of folding on my main rig because the beta client expired. I FEEL YOUR PAIN!
  5. make sure you have "download WU's without deadline set to no" if this is set to use you will not be able to download I had this problem too. for more info see official forum thread
  6. well I turned in my 3000 WU today and I'm inching up my production. I just realized that I have folded 870 points on 3 WU's for team 454545 which doesn't exist...I'll have to find the rogue machine a correct that. Should add a little more to my production. Anyway it looks like we've stagnated in the team rankings though. Lets step it up y'all. I should have AMD 3200+ up and going soon. Its been offline since last year but is going to replace my current server which can't fold due to instability. I'll right I'll get up with y'all later
  7. yeah my all my clients are kicking in after their troubles with WinSMP. To bad I never got it working I could be up around 4000. Everyone's PPD's are going be slightly inflated on EOC for the next couple days though because of the problems last week. I actually don't have that big of a performance hit with my games. I still get decent frames rates. The client is pretty good at giving up cycles. I can tell since my I usually make zero progress on my WU's when gaming. However if you have very memory intensive program and a memory hogging WU you could have problems. I don't know if the client knows how to give up memory or not. Maybe somebody else knows about this.
  8. I play NWN2....it slows down my production considerably.
  9. theres a 5 point WU....hope thats like 30 min of work...you could eek out 250ppd doing them all day lol edit: it was actually two WU's I didn't know they came in half point increments ur digging off the bottom of the barrel UncleD
  10. Thats a good idea. I'll have to look into what would have to go in there when I have the time. Maybe next week when I'm in Florida I thought that I tried running as a service at it didn't work. I thought there was known bug dealing with that. Is anyone else having a problem.
  11. Do you have a similar setup? I know that running as a service does not work. I can't remember but I think the client starts but never goes past 0%. So I have set my clients to start on start up or when idle using the scheduler. This works fine. But if I check the box to stop when not idle, I loose WU's. I can see a difference in the logs too, with the former the client on stops when the computer is rebooted. When that happens you get this in the log: [01:34:06] Completed 130000 out of 500000 steps (26 percent)[02:13:04] Writing local files[02:13:04] Completed 135000 out of 500000 steps (27 percent)[02:53:03] Writing local files[02:53:03] Completed 140000 out of 500000 steps (28 percent)[email protected] Client Shutdown. However if the scheduler stops you get [01:34:06] Completed 130000 out of 500000 steps (26 percent)[02:13:04] Writing local files[02:13:04] Completed 135000 out of 500000 steps (27 percent)[02:53:03] Writing local files[02:53:03] Completed 140000 out of 500000 steps (28 percent) with no shutdown.... when that happens when there is restart it trashes the WU. Is this true for you Thraxz. If so I'll report as a bug.
  12. well it looks like the winsmp client just has a bug in it that causes a not so elegant exit and subsequent dumping of the work if used with the windows scheduler. Both of my clients set up this way are dumping WU's like no there cursed. I will report this to Stanford as soon as possible. In the mean time I'm switching back to the regular client.
  13. Interesting maybe this my problem since I have the Pentium D set to start at 5 or 10 min idle. They may not give enough time for the all the exe to stop. I have noticed that they linger for quite awhile. I never got a chance to switch that client over yesterday so I think I will set the idle time to 45 min and see if that improves to the client-core communications.
  14. I have two P4 as well as a two P3 (one is down though) and a P2....All contribute. some more than others (P2 comes in at < 10ppd as it takes around 23 days to complete a WU) So it looks like I'm going to have to revert on of my WinSMP clients it chugged away over the weekend up till 71% and then the client had to restart at 2300 and again at 0100 both times it failed and started over. I guess I will try a reinstall first, but I just wasted 4 days of folding with this bugger. What do y'all think should I debug more or just wait until a more stable version is available. logs: [21:00:34] Completed 660000 out of 1000000 steps (66 percent) [21:25:42] Writing local files [21:25:42] Completed 670000 out of 1000000 steps (67 percent) [21:50:53] Writing local files [21:50:53] Completed 680000 out of 1000000 steps (68 percent) [22:16:04] Writing local files [22:16:04] Completed 690000 out of 1000000 steps (69 percent) [22:41:15] Writing local files [22:41:16] Completed 700000 out of 1000000 steps (70 percent) [23:06:27] Writing local files [23:06:27] Completed 710000 out of 1000000 steps (71 percent) --- Opening Log file [March 25 23:42:41] # SMP Client ################################################################## ############################################################################### [email protected] Client Version 5.91beta http://folding.stanford.edu ############################################################################### ############################################################################### Launch directory: C:Documents and Settingsingramfah Executable: C:Documents and Settingsingramfahfah.exe [23:42:41] - Ask before connecting: No [23:42:41] - User ID: 7C7B1ABE6F4657F3 [23:42:41] - Machine ID: 1 [23:42:41] [23:42:41] Loaded queue successfully. 15. Don't know yet I'll find out tomorrow morning when I get to work. I hope so but the real test is when the system gets used during the week. It seems to only happen on restarts.
