  1. I just installed my audigy 2zs card on my rig and installed all the drivers for it...I also uninstalled my onboard sound drivers on my comp after that too....My question is..everytime I boot my comp it still detects it and asks me to put in the drivers for it....Is it possible to have drivers installed for both of the cards but use the sound capabilities of one sound card, which in this case would be my audigy 2zs.....If not how can I remove my onboard sound graphics so it doesn't detect it and uses my audigy 2zs instead..
  2. So is it normal to be show up everytime I boot on the comp? How can I set it so it doesn't show it anymore..
  3. so did you find out anything yet? I'm about to do some benchmark testing on my comp soon.
  4. I'm about to try this now, and particular settings I should change my settings to get max performance with my specs after loading this new bios?
  5. For some reason whenever I boot my computer I get the "safely remove hardware" icon in my task bar...When I double click it, it asks me what device I want to unplug or eject and then click stop.. It shows my harddrive in the list as "WDC WD1200JD-00HBB0" ...Could someone tell me why this might be happening? Is it normal?
  6. Well I just got done building my first computer and got it to boot fine. Right now I'm just installing most of my programs and games that I used to use in my old computer. I have a question though, on my old computer...from time to time when my computer freezes up or anything like that ..I would press the power button once and it would shut down the computer by itself from windows automatically without completely turning the computer off...If that didn't work then I would have to hold down the button in order for it to completely just turn the power off altogether.. With my new computer..There are two buttons..One to turn off the computer and the other one to reset it...Now what I'm trying to figure out is how to make the power button turn off so it tries to shut down windows before it completely turns the power off..
  7. Well, I went on my old computer and downloaded the latest windows xp yukon drivers for my ethernet adapter, installed it on the new one and it works like a charm now. I'm typing from my new computer as a matter of fact, now to install firefox, avsoftware, and some of my favorite games to see what this baby can do
  8. As long as the power supply is 24 pinned you should be good, your setup is great but I would recommend a OCZ Power Supply.
  9. It's plugged directly, and I believe I tried it with both ports. Alright it looks like it doesn't detect the 2nd adapter at all. Here is the error message I get whenever I go in device manager, update driver, and put in the driver cd to install the marvel drivers: There was a problem installing this hardware: Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base-t adapter, copper rj-45 An error occured during installation of this device: The style of the INF is different then what was requested. Also I think you kind of misunderstood me, what happened as I installed both the .net framework that was in the drivers cd and the marvell drivers as well....It installed fine the first time but the internet connection part never worked so I just uninstalled them both from the add/remove programs....Now I am trying to install the Marvell Drivers again and I get that error message I posted above in this thread.
  10. I just got done building my first computer yesturday and it worked out well to the most part...I got it to boot up and runs windows fine. I have been trying to get my nternet working but haven't been so sucessful at that yet. I use comcast high speed connection, I installed their software and when it gets to the part where it says pinging, it can't ping at all and there is no active connection. I had the marvell lan drivers installed already, also with most of the drivers installed and it still didn't work. Kept on saying it would try to acquire the connection but nothing happened after that. So I attempted to uninstall the marvell lan adapter, with the microsoft .net framework and when I go to install it again it says the inf does not match with the file requested. Not really sure what to do here...I mean it detects the ethernet connection but doesn't have an active internet connection for some reason. Can someone give me some possible suggestions? DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 ULTRA-D AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2GHz San Diego Core Western Digital Caviar SE WD1200JD 120GB Serial ATA OCZ OCZ520ADJ ATX 520W OCZ Gold Series 1GB Asus Extreme AX800XL/2DTV Radeon X800XL PCI Express It's a direct connection btw, no router or anything like that and firewall is turned off. I also checked with my other computer and it works fine but with the new one it doesn't so I'm guessing it must be a driver issue.
  11. Hi, I'd like to see some pictures if possible...I tried searching through the forums but couldn't find anything..Basically pictures of what the dfi mobo looks like in the case after all the wiring is put, just basically the finished project...would be nice if there are some shots on that ...coz I'm building one my first time..I just wanna be sure all the messy wiring i'm doing is ok or can be done in a better way...

  17. Well tomorrow will be the day when I will finally get the last part to my rig, which is the processor. Then I will start on buildling my rig... Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2GHz San Diego Core Motherboard: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 ULTRA-D nForce4 Ultra Athlon 64(FX)/Sempron Skt939 DDR ATX Motherboard w/Audio, Dual Gigabit LAN, RAID/Serial ATA HardDrive: Western Digital Caviar SE WD1200JD 120GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer and Serial ATA Signal Cable Bundle Power Supply: OCZ OCZ520ADJ ATX 520W Power Supply 100-120V AC/200-240V AC TUV, UL, CSA, CE, CB, FCC Memory: OCZ Gold Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory Sound Card: Audigy 2zs Video Card: x800 XL Floppy Drive: NEC Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive Model FD1231H-302 Before I get started on it, is there any pointers anyone would like to give out? This is going to be my first attempt at building my comp, so any kind of advice like what exact bios I should get for the specs I've listed that would be good for my comp, what thread I should be looking at for step by step procedures in building it the right way, what the best settings would be, etc...
  18. just curious...did that last post fix your problem?
  19. I just ordered the BH-5 one. Alright I also need an operating system and someone told me that I can get an OS/Hardware bundle on many sites....Could anyone recommend me a good one, I'll be ordering a floppy drive now. For OS, I am going with Windows XP Professional.
  20. I've always been told that the Venice/Winchester versions were the newer revisions to the AMD 64bit processor lines, how are the clawhammer ones better? http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...hreadid=1583044
  21. The first one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227211 was the exact one he recommended though. What exactly is the difference between vx and bh-5? Btw I didn't order it yet.
  22. Angry, I will go with this one then..... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227204 heh I'm basically putting my deciding factor on what memory I should by from what you say...So if you want me to get the other one that you specifically recommended I will get that
  23. Thanks. Just looked it up on newegg and I saw 2 different ones. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227211 $158.03 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227204 $159.93 They look pretty much the same except cost about a buck more, any particular reason why? I'm thinking I should just go with the 2nd one...
