  1. Congrats Hemidare. Good work.

I came up with another 146 for my last hoorah in socket 939. I sold off most of my stuff but hung onto my original Expert and my 2 best sticks of old school BH5. We'll see what happens on air first, then move to phase and see if it's cold-bugged or not.

I think on my days off I am gonna put that value vx in the expert with the dual core and see if I can push it any further. Since I popped the top I got 2808 outta it but still no further. Not counting on much since that chip didn't do any better with the tccd in the ultra d. Had to take a break from trying to push it though, it was starting to piss me off to the point it would have got fried.

  2. Sorry to hear about that Ed. I don't think it would seem right for the guy on top of the 3g's club and the race track to have an HP. I second what Cliff had to say and I am sure he could build you the same beast for alot less money. Might not be gold plated but would be the same under the hood.

  3. This entry is in tribute to a bro who isn't able to do it himself right now.

It will be waiting for you with these settings saved but you still need a better power supply. :tooth: This poor ram is begging me for some more voltage. Here is to thinking about you bud :beer :beer :beer :beer no smiley for skotch so beer will have to do. :shake:

  4. No doubt about that man, I am finally getting my sisters rig built outta parts i've had laying around. When that system is up she won't have to worry about it for at least a couple years. Not a board for clocking or anything but ran as my file and gameserver for over 2 years without a reinstall.

Yeah he wants me to keep him up to date on the tech side of things so he doesn't end up like a noob or anything. I have been wanting to punch some volts into some good ram since I sold this set to him. Might have to put it in the expert with the 165 and have some fun.

  5. LOL. I made an entry with an Ultra a long time back. Still have it and it still powers rigs just fine.

After a heated battle, I was informed that I had one of the first gen Ultra's and they were pretty good. I had to laugh at that one. At the time it was powering a Socket 478 Prescott at 4.4 ..

This one came with his X-Blade case and he wondered why his rails read so low but at least it has a 24 pin connector. It actually (putting on my flame suit) has been totally stable for him with a decent overclock for well over a year and a half. The ram is the thing that wants the volts but I could just toss it on a low divider and clock the cpu up. Same stepping as my good chip and goofing with it before I sold it to him 3g's was no problem for it. It's my buddy who I was talking to you about so he won't be needing it for awhile unfortunately.

  6. That chip looks like it's got a good shot at 3g's. When I get some time I got ahold of my buddy's computer to do some work for them. It has my old value vx and the other 146 I got when I bought mine. Might have to throw up an entry with it but gonna have to use one of my power supplies. Won't even say what he has been running it with  probably get flamed off the street.

  7. I still miss my value vx chips still the funnest ram I ever clocked with. This entry was done with a winchester core but same ram as you. That ram will want some more volt's to get higher. If you have tried that much voltage to the cpu without improvement it could be nearing it's limit. Hopefully not though of course. http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...89&postcount=11

  8. The biggest thing I don't like about NewEgg is that if you buy a part and it's DOA or fails within a week, and you replace it with something else and want a refund from NewEgg, they hit you with a 15% "restocking" fee for something they obviously aren't going to "restock" if you're sending it back because the damn thing is dead. You should have a window of say 1 business week (5 biz days) to return a defective item for refund with no penalties. In a way, you did NewEgg a favor by getting a dead item off their shelves. A minor quibble, though, with how good their service is on all other fronts. I had heard before ATACOM sucked, so confirmation is good :)

The only time I have received anything DOA from newegg it was a set of ram and with one phone call they gave me a full refund. I ended up getting another set of ram from them on the same phone call from a different Manufacturer. Every time I have dealt with them on any issue they have went above and beyond my expectations to make it right. I just wish they would go back to fed ex for their shipping specials.
