  1. command per clock- set to disable. I really hope you can get it going but don't take the recomendation's the wrong way they are really trying to help. while you are in the bios try to list your timing's for dram from top to bottom so we can see if anything jumps out at us.
  2. He is telling you the truth value ram and the expert don't play together very well at all. That 450 watt ps is pushing it also. As far is mixing a 512mb and a 256mb ram it will actually make it harder to get window's stable.
  3. Yep after a couple corrupted install's I just created a seperate benching partition on my raid array so I wouldn't have to reinstall my daily use os anymore. It's like a 10gb partition in a 477 gb array lol. If you are running them at your prime stable setting's you shouldn't have any problem's we just go further than true stabilily allow's.
  4. Use cpu 1, the cpu 2 is for eps 8 pin like the expert. On the floppy I didn't even notice they were labeled different when I put my expert together LOL. Now I am gonna wait for an answer with you.
  5. By which part the floppy power connector or what cas latency the ram is? 5-3-3-7 is what I am wondering about and the floppy power connector on the board might help to make sure the board is getting enough power. I am working on my ram in my expert board right now so just trying to help you out at the same time.
  6. Isn't a corrupted window's install a rule with pi run's. Good run there Swamp.
  7. There is also a floppy connector above the first pci-e that will help with stability. Do you know what chip's are on the ram and is that a cas latency of 5?
  8. One difference between the expert and venus cmos clear is to leave the battery in. It stores some voltage information and should not be removed during a cmos clear. Follow all the step's in ex roadie's guide just don't pull the battery.
  9. If you have both stick's of ram in try taking one out and leaving one in the orange slot farthest away from cpu. Try to boot with the one stick and enter bios and set up the ram timing's then shutdown and add the second stick. My expert did the same thing on first boot and all's it was were too many ram timing's on auto.
  10. Just posted up a new entry with my good chip and the expert board. Including a pic of core temp so I could ask if anyone else run's into this, On this chip core temp always reads lower than everything else but my other chip is exactly the opposite. Most of the comparison's I have seen have core temp showing quite a bit higher than the mbm5 reading. Right now I have an ambient of about 15 so that is why my temp's look so good.

  12. http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/126 There is a link to the 1.4 mod most of us use. Hopefully you can pull it off now best luck to you.
  13. As far is everst goes it should be fine in the 3dmark's unless something changed that I missed. Man this club is getting even bigger and it's great to see you and Thraxz get done so close together..... kinda fitting with all the effort from both of you.
  14. Depending which program u r using you can set it to install from the disk so you don't have to wait for it to copy them over. I use WPI for my install disk's and just a little extra code and it install's right off the disk. The music is what makes it even better but if I leave to high of a bitrate installing off the cd causes a little breakup every now and then.
  15. Ouch well at least the chipset didn't fry ........ but I still wouldn't give it a chance too.
  16. I honestly wouldn't chance it I have seen them at 58 under load with the stock cooler so without it could be fry time.
  17. It is the same height as the stock cooler just have to make sure it is seated all the way and shouldn't have a problem. Alot of people use it with 7800 series cards haven't seen any complaint's yet.
  18. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50820 Here is a link to a whole thread dedicated to this, I have it on both my board's and it run's cooler and alot less noisy.
  19. Thank's bud nice link there now I have another site to watch for deal's on.
  20. I would grab the everest trial and see what it come's up with. I prefer motherboard monitor to smart guardian and soundx98 has done a great job with it for the nf4. Do a search and you will find a thread all about it.
  21. Did you enable the two drives where you enabled raid in bios? I had window's doing that to me once when I forgot to select the correct drives.
  22. Hell yeah man goes to show persistance pays off. Took some work and time but you got it done.
  23. Man I have been wanting to here that for quite awhile now congradulation's man.
  24. Pretty much man and then when you think your done start all over again with another part.
