    The AMD 3GHz Club

I think on my days off I am gonna put that value vx in the expert with the dual core and see if I can push it any further. Since I popped the top I got 2808 outta it but still no further. Not counting on much since that chip didn't do any better with the tccd in the ultra d. Had to take a break from trying to push it though, it was starting to piss me off to the point it would have got fried.

How Many Optical Drives Do You Actually Use?

I am using 2 burners in my main rig and 1 in each of the other rigs. I guess it's just an old habit to have a few in there but the one in the stacker looked lonely in that huge case.

    Swapping CPU's

I would be setting the memory timings (especially secondary) since the memory controller is different. My expert, with certain bios versions, won't even boot both sticks without using one to get in and set the timings first.

Sorry to hear about that Ed. I don't think it would seem right for the guy on top of the 3g's club and the race track to have an HP. I second what Cliff had to say and I am sure he could build you the same beast for alot less money. Might not be gold plated but would be the same under the hood.

http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...2&postcount=409 Hey TFK when you put this one on the list would it be ok if we listed it with a /livewire for the user name? This is my buddies rig and he isn't going to be able to use it for quite awhile. This is the other 146 I bought when I got mine so I knew it would pull 3g's but he just didn't get around to finishing it up.

This entry is in tribute to a bro who isn't able to do it himself right now. It will be waiting for you with these settings saved but you still need a better power supply. :tooth: This poor ram is begging me for some more voltage. No doubt about that man, I am finally getting my sisters rig built outta parts i've had laying around. When that system is up she won't have to worry about it for at least a couple years. Not a board for clocking or anything but ran as my file and gameserver for over 2 years without a reinstall. Yeah he wants me to keep him up to date on the tech side of things so he doesn't end up like a noob or anything. I have been wanting to punch some volts into some good ram since I sold this set to him. Might have to put it in the expert with the 165 and have some fun.

This one came with his X-Blade case and he wondered why his rails read so low but at least it has a 24 pin connector. It actually (putting on my flame suit) has been totally stable for him with a decent overclock for well over a year and a half. The ram is the thing that wants the volts but I could just toss it on a low divider and clock the cpu up. Same stepping as my good chip and goofing with it before I sold it to him 3g's was no problem for it. It's my buddy who I was talking to you about so he won't be needing it for awhile unfortunately.

That chip looks like it's got a good shot at 3g's. When I get some time I got ahold of my buddy's computer to do some work for them. It has my old value vx and the other 146 I got when I bought mine. Might have to throw up an entry with it but gonna have to use one of my power supplies. Won't even say what he has been running it with  probably get flamed off the street.

    Help!!!! How do I AVI

Check out avi2dvd it's a freeware program that will do what you want. It will eat up some time but does a pretty good job. It converts it to video ts and will also create the iso for you. Turns out way higher quality than vcd's and if you want to double encode dvd shrink has no problem reading the files it creates. http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html
  13. I still miss my value vx chips still the funnest ram I ever clocked with. This entry was done with a winchester core but same ram as you. That ram will want some more volt's to get higher. If you have tried that much voltage to the cpu without improvement it could be nearing it's limit. Hopefully not though of course. http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...89&postcount=11
  14. I didn't see you mention doing a cmos clear after the flash. Give it at least a 10 minute clear and if you are running a sata hard drive make sure it is enabled in genie bios. The error about non-system disk is normally from the hard drive not configured in the bios right.

    Weirdest problem ever!

Do you have another power supply to test with? It is sounding more like that would be an issue than the board itself.

    4x512 on a Venus

I don't think those two types of ram will play nice with each other no matter what you try. They are both great sets but to different from each other imo.

    Atacom....

The only time I have received anything DOA from newegg it was a set of ram and with one phone call they gave me a full refund. I ended up getting another set of ram from them on the same phone call from a different Manufacturer. Every time I have dealt with them on any issue they have went above and beyond my expectations to make it right. I just wish they would go back to fed ex for their shipping specials.

To try and save you a headache many of us have ran into I would make sure your passing 3dmark 03 before you run orthos for 8 hours. It bit me on a 16 hour run on my 146  needed a little more voltage for 3d stability.
