  1. Yeah, but it's loud. I have one on my MSI Board. Plus it's two wire, so no RPM control or sensing.
  2. I have installed a Vantec ICEBERG4 VGA cooler on mine. The pins don't line up, but I used soem Artic Alumina thermal adhesice. I also had to saw out a bit of the copper base to allow a couple of raised components room, but it was pretty easy. The blue LED looks cool too!
  3. Thanks. I wish I could monitor the temp on the Board Chip. I've installed an ICEBERG 4 Pro vga cooler, and it's plugged into the bottom fan header. May not be a good place for it, but, I'll just set the Full On temp in the BIOS to very low so it's always on, and everything should be all right.
  4. So, problem solved. I got my Rev 2, had same problem. Flashed BIOS to 4.52 (03-31-05) and all is well. running at 2-2-2-10. now I can start tweaking and OVERCLOCKING!
  5. Sorry, but that doesn't tell me much. Specific quesion. Is there a sensor that monitors the temperature of the NF3 chip itself? If there is, does the fan header at the bottom of the board react to it? If the fan header at the bottom of the board does not react to a sensor on the NF3 chip, waht sensor does it react to? What temperature does that chip monitor? What does "System Temperature" mean? Is it the temperature of the PCB itself? If not, what temperature is "System temperature"?
  6. There are three temperatures being reported by the sensors on my NF3 250GB board. One is the CPU, but exactly what are the other two? Is one my NF3 chip? In addition, which fans headers are linked to which temperature sensor? I know the CPU affiliation. I need to know more about all things, but today, I'll try this.
  7. I have posted earlier regarding my problems booting into Windows with both sticks of RAM, and my floppy problems. Last night I tried some experiments with the RAM timings and voltages, shifting slots, etc. No luck with two sticks. Once, with sticks in slots 2 & 3 and 2.8V, it got into Windows, but soon after I reached the desktop, it crashed out with a blue screen. I managed to see something about a data dump before it disappeared. Another thing that happened is when I had only 1 stick in slot 2, it wouldn't even post. Other than that, I got into windows and it was working well with either stick in slot 1. I haven't really stressed it though, haven't even played a game yet. Should I RMA, or wait to try the OCZ PC3200 Plat Rev 2 I have on order?
  8. Tried searching existing threads and posting in other forum, no luck. I am having a problem with this new board in that it hangs when loading windows if I have both sticks of memory in. I've tried 1 & 2 and 1 & 3. Seems to work fine with one stick. The bios tells me on boot up that both sticks are set at 400 DDR, even though it is advertised as a problem and that they shpuld only boot at 333 DDR with Auto set in the bios. Bios version 4.52 Had this memory in my MSI K8T Neo FIS2R and it worked very well. No errors or instability. Link to OCZ http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...c_3200_platinum
  9. Thanks for the info, unfortunately, the file is a .exe, not a .inf. http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/dri..._FLAG=A&SITE=US RAID Driver Rev 5.10.2600.0507 It must be supposed to create a boot disc. Yes?
  10. I loaded the CPU Driver from AMD before I found the AMD Driver on the DFI download site for the NF3 250GB. On the DFI site it warns not to load the AMD Driver if you are going to overclock. AMD Site - AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor Driver for Windows XP, Version (exe) 1.1.0.18 http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Techni...71_9706,00.html DFI Site - AMD Driver Rev 1.1.0.14http://www.dfi.com.tw/Support/Download/driver_download_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=2840&STATUS_FLAG=A&SITE=US I am assuming that they are the same driver, as they are both for Cool 'N' Quiet. Is this true? If it is true, anyone know how to remove the Driver?
  11. Bump. Someone please explain how updating RAID drivers is suppode to work, and we'll go from there.
  12. On the DFI Site there are Driver updates for the NVIDIA RAID Controller. Specifically "F6 NF4R.exe" My problem is that I don't understand how to apply the update. When I downoad it, I save it to my hard drive. While I'm doing this, I get a message several times telling me there is no disc in the A: Drive. Once the download is complete, I double click it, and it activates and looks for the A: Drive. Here's my first problem. No matter what was on the floppy before, it tells me: First - There is no floppy in the drive. I click retry and it finds it, but then it always tells me the Floppy needs to be formatted. I do this, and the application executes. I can only assume, as there are no directions I can find, that it is executing to a floppy as it is meant to be used during the Boot Up. I reboot. All I get is the message that there is a floppy in the A: drive and that I need to remove it and press any key to continue. I have gotten the same results with two floppy drives. I have the floppy set in the BIOS as the first boot device. Any ideas? Do I have the process wrong?
  13. Not sure these are TCCD Chips. It's not Rev 2. If I have to go to those sorts of timings, this isn't the board for me. Why spend all that money and then have to go with such loose timings? I do have rev 2 on the way. Maybe that will make a difference. This is one spooky board so far. I have other issues, but I'll post separately.

  15. I'm confused as to how to update the RAID drivers. I downloaded the driver from the DFI website, ran the file, copied to Floppy, rebooted, got the disc in drive A, remove and press any key to reboot. I must be missing something. How do you update these drivers? I had the same problem with the RAID Utility update.
